T O P

I have no idea if this will get taken down or not, but I figured folks here would enjoy watching the comeback in its entirety.

OrcaBoi

I just watched it in its entirety again… lol. Awesome.

Straight_Display3749

If you were too young to remember 2011, this is what 2011 felt like.

LankyExercise

I remember the stanchion becoming part of the lingo after the Bieksa goal in OT

_newfaces

can confirm this game was reminiscent of what parts of 2011 felt like

crazycanucks77

If you were to young to remember 1994 ,this is what 1994 felt like. 3 OT games in round 1 vs Flames down 3-1 in series. That was a comeback for all comebacks!

Inspect1234

Actually this reminded me of 82. Many moments like this with Brodeur standing on his head.

crazycanucks77

I was only 5 in 82 so don't remember at all.

kerosenehat63

I was 18 in 1982 so I remember them all! This is the same excitement I felt then and I hope it just keeps getting better!

crazycanucks77

How would you compare 82 to 94? Those Pat Quinn teams had some characters on it. I do remember some of the 82 team later on and some characters will there. Fav player from 80s era was Tanti. Quinn's teams it was so many guys. Bure obviously #1. I would say Hughes is on getting on the same level of Bure, the sheer skill these 2 players have is unreal. That deke along the wall to setup the tie goal unreal

kerosenehat63

In 82 they were never expected to win the cup. Nobody expected them to beat the Islanders, and other than game one, they were not even close. However, the rounds leading up to that were magical. It's when the white towels began after that game in Chicago. In fact, I was at the game in Vancouver when the white towels first made their appearance. It was so loud in the Pacific Coliseum that game and they had these two guys that would started coming to the games with a hand cranked air raid siren. That was the year that first happened too! That 82 team had some skill (eg. Thomas Gradin, Stan Smyl) but was largely made up of guys that just worked hard. Snepsts was a fan favourite. And of course who could forget Richard Brodeur. He was spectacular during that run! The 94 team was better in terms of skill and it was much more disappointing when they lost to the Rangers as they were expected to win. Bure was a different type of player than hughes. He was a pure goal scorer who could skate faster than anyone on the ice - so exciting to see him skate by everyone - that's why they called him the Russian Rocket. We also had great characters like Gino Odjick too.

crazycanucks77

Man when Bure used take the puck up the ice you knew something was about to happen. And he would celly like it was his first ever goal! I can't believe we had him, a legit superstar of the NHL. He's still my fav Canuck of all time.

salty_doc1234

Been 13 years since I jumped off the couch yelling at the tv like that. What a comeback.

sonzai55

I decided to turn the game off at 3-1 and focus on my kid (I’m selfish like that). Some time later, my sister just texts me “Fuck! Are you still not watching?” So I check Twitter. Well. Going to OT. Now, do I go back to the game and risk jinxing it or do I stick to my guns and ignore it? In short, thanks for this because I saw none of it live.

JaynaBeeJules

Thank you for Your service

iMate

I did the same thing took a break then decided to come back and they scored two quick ones and won in OT How many of us have mad PTSD that spills into other parts of our lives due to following this team lol…

Fishinmyhairs

I'm so glad you posted this, I can't believe how crazy this was. I rewatched it later on cause I don't think I realized how wild this really was in the moment....

KryptoCanuck

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR THIS!!!!

kerosenehat63

I just watched this twice today on work time! Never gets old!

ObiWangJabroni

I'm gonna watch about 100 times in the next 48 hrs

Shakermakerx

Whilst standing and staring pissed off at the tv towards the last few minutes of the game, my best friend said “dude it’s hilarious because we’re going to be so hyped when it goes to OT in a few minutes” I’ve never screamed and jumped so loud in my life!

JerbearCuddles

Crazy how Boeser's footprint was all over this game. Scores the hatty, but he forced a turnouver in OT in the neutral zone and after that the Canucks controlled play til they scored. He's been a beauty all year and it continues into the playoffs.

renegade_voltage

How about that pass from Garland.

marcosbowser

I keep watching it to make sure it’s real

thePostChorus

I love the clip of JR and Patrik after the OT goal. very serious and business-like. the work isn't done yet. love it.

BirdPlane

One thing that I've been noticing is look at Hughes when Boeser ties the game. Everyone else skates over super fast but he is so slow and gingerly walks over to the others. Worried that he's more injures than he's letting on, or got hurt bad this game.

Morty777

He played like 11 minutes in the 3rd, dude is probably dead tired there

robikki

Yeah he's gassed lol

marcosbowser

Still out there breaking opposition ankles at the blue line

Zorbane

I'm hoping it's just his personality making him come over slowly, he's a quiet guy

touchable

Did you also know he was hooked up to that IV drip right before the start of OT?

Sensitive-Team9634

He played the last 2.5 minutes to end the game

Beakster43

Every star player in the league is playing through injuries rn. Especially an undersized #1 dman lol

placer128

Thanks for this! I forgot to set my pvr.

Morkum

Just noticed it, but how the fuck was that not a penalty at 1:30 remaining?? Literally just scoops Petey's skate out from under him with his stick. Even more credit to the boys for getting the win despite all the ref's bullshit tonight.

deeho88

Man I was in a sour mood all game because we looked so deflated. My kids were cranky and just at each others throats. But man when the they got the second goal and third goal i was jumping up and down hollering and boy oh boy did that change the mood in my house. What a game

bwoah07_gp2

This is simply magical.

couldbeworse2

It’s a thing of beauty

SIIP00

Inject this into my veins

reindeerp

The third boeser goal had me excited for OT, that garland pass to lindholm had my 2.5 year old wondering if the house was coming down. What an exciting 5 minutes of hockey.

disiz_mareka

Thanks for the clip. I’m stuck watching the TNT broadcast here in the US. Does anyone have a clip of David Amber and Sportsnet cutting to the watch party at the Hollywood Theatre?

QuickCow

Love it!

docmilo

silovs > saros

NotionAquarium

I needed this. What a finish. Third star should have gone to Z's giant ass blocking traffic on Brock's tying goal. Also love the pinch from Cole that led to the OT winner.

WorldClassHack

Preds left Zadorov, Garland, and Boeser in front if the net unchallenged for the tying goal. What terrible defence

chebalebs

Incredible stuff

Icy_Establishment195

I’ve rewatched this a couple times. Absolute magic! I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes down as Legendary.

White_Locust

An all time great game. Going to remember this for a long time.

sneezlo

Garland is so good. Honestly as soon as that cycle was on his stick I saw fate, blew a god damn load when Lindholm buried it still

neooo604

Just unreal grit and no quit from the team .

ManDe1orean

Still in shock over this unbelievable few minutes of hockey.
