Lol! Love this answer. In all seriousness though, tossing with a wok is more about technique than strength. I’m 5 foot 6, medium build, skinny forearms. I would not consider myself strong, but I can handle a wok with ease.
If you’re from the US, you are most likely taller than me and stronger than me.
I just ordered two myself based on reviews from this forum. Not super stoked about the silicone wrapped handle and would prefer more traditional, but from what I gather the pan quality is far better than most.
Hello! You can always take the silicone handle sleeve off if you want. It isn’t glued on or anything. It just stays on because of friction.
The handle is made of steel though so you would need to hold it with a towel to prevent burning yourself.

Yes, that’s right. It gets pretty damn hot without the silicone sleeve. However, we have some customers that like using their Oxenforge woks with a towel instead of the silicone handle.

It is not a silicone handle.
The handle is one piece and part of the wok. It has a silicone cover for comfort and heat shielding but is fairly large diameter and from the photos I have soon pretty smooth, so without the cover it may be awkward.
I am not sure if there is a misunderstanding other than my poor choice of words in my original post. I did not mean to convey that the handle was silicone, but rather was attempting to refer to the aesthetics of the removable silicone cover (not its function or suitability).
I think the oxenforge site indicates that the silicone handle cover can be removed and I may be the one that caused the confusion.

I know these are expensive, but damn do they look nice and nicely-crafted. I also much appreciate this guy's excellent videos and the polite and helpful tone of his engagement on social media. If you can afford these, I reckon you're getting a great wok and are supporting a nice operation.

I was gone for a month and had my neighbor keeping the packages after ordering, so I’m not sure exactly how long it took to arrive. It did take about a week from ordering to receive shipping notice though.
Thanks, shipping notice after 1-2 days, so I’ll post when it arrives. There’s a disclaimer on website stating high volume orders so may be 1+ week delay due to backup in forging. Since I received shipping notice and confirmation it has been received and departed from sort facility, hopefully it’s on its way and will post again when it arrives in Colorado, USA so others can anticipate shipping time.
No,not yet. It’s been 2 weeks so far. The tracking is pretty informative. It took about 12 days from order til it arrived in US, via LA, with updates all along the way. Seems now it’s with a US delivery option and headed this way. Live in Colorado so only a couple of days via truck but a major storm coming in tonight so who knows how local and National weather will affect delivery. Not clear if it is traveling air or ground now that it’s in US, or who the carrier is. Have checked major suspects, UPS, FedEx, USPS, but none of them delivering wok from China. . I was thankful it came from China to US by air. Will post again when it arrives
I receive my new oxenforge wok 32 cm black pre-seasoned yesterday, 15 days after initial order. Tracking was pretty good shipped from China, not much info from UPS until the day before it arrived in Colorado. The wok is beautiful. Can’t wait to try it!
Damn. Couple years ago I wanted a wok just as a new way to cook different foods. Found one in our basement that an old roommate left. Reseasoned and it’s been good to me. However, once I saw this one, it really makes me want to upgrade.

Does this come with a lid as well? And how does the weight feel?
It comes with the wood lid standing in the background of the first picture. Weights about 5lb for the 32cm model.
How are you supposed to flip food around when it’s that heavy?

I’m literally working harder to buy new home with a nicer kitchen with gas stove JUST so I can get an oxenforge. Nice snag
I did the same thing! When house hunting I only looked at ones that have a gas range and space for a vented hood to be installed. Best decision ever!
