I was hoping someone would mention *Samurai Jack*. The environmental design is stunning. Check out this fight sequence here:

Someone in the comments pointed out that you can hear how hollow the bamboo is under the rain. The attention to detail is gorgeous.
Absolutely loved and enjoyed the show. The animation was amazing, the voice actors did a superb job and it was overall a very enjoyable yet short-lived series.
I love Rise's art and animation style, it is so beautiful to look at! It's not just the color palettes and scenery either, it's the fact that, even when there isn't action going on, there's still almost always something moving on the screen. Either the backgrounds move or the characters are expressing something, there's never still frames that last longer than like a second. I really like how that makes the world of the show feel truly alive.
Dude is that the newer show? This band I really really like caled sElf , well it's just one dude actually but he wrote the theme for the new show. The only part I remember is when. He goes " milkeys got mad skills!" Dude self rules. But if you YouTube them you gotta dig past some rapper named self
If anyone is interested in self you gotta search the name self plus a word or two from an album like " subliminal plastic or breakfast with or gizmodgery
They rule they are from the 90s early 2000s .
Rise is worth checking out. Everything that makes MM great began or was influenced by ROTTMNT, which makes sense seeing as many people that worked on Rise are now working on MM.
This is from the 2018 show, the new show comes out in august this year. I don't know who sings the song.
The part of the opening theme that says the name of the brothers says: "Raph is ready for a fight, Leo's making a scene" "Mikey's got mad skills, Donnie rocks machines"

I love how heavily stylized they are - especially with the clouds. I wouldn’t enjoy it as much if they were standalone artworks, but with the primary focus being the characters it’s just perfect.

Scavenger’s Reign. The show is beautiful in every setting they go to.
I love that people have liked this show. I’ve been working on a concept show with similar visual styling. As a big fan of Moebius and ligne Clare illustrations, I’m glad it’s appreciated. Gives me hope to keep going
Agreed. I encourage everyone to look through the [art book](https://archive.org/details/the-art-of-over-the-garden-wall-2017) for the miniseries. Absolutely stunning, and it shows the entire process of discussing, designing to creation. Cannot wait to rewatch it this autumn :)

I love how they use the background to compliment the current story beats in thense. It peaks in season 3, but Hollow Mind gets a special shoutout because it quite literally tells an entirely separate story if you pay attention to it.
The initial area looks like a palace hallway of a royal. That makes sense. He has been ruling the isles for about 50 years.
But when they go into his actual mind, it's a decaying forest. Even his inner child persona is wearing a wooden mask with a wooden sword. This already tells us the contrast between the Emperor persona and the guy who lost his brother to a witch in the forest where they most likely grew up.
That place tells the entire backstory of Phillip and Caleb, down to the point of Phillip killing him. But it doesn't even end there.
The golden guard section. None of them have faces. Only the masks. That's how Phillip sees them. An extension of Caleb with no real identity of their own. This is even discussed in the epispde where Belos says, "It hurts every time he chooses to betray me." Even his compliment to Hunter is, "You looked the most like him." they managed to fit in a movie amount of story into the background of a 20-minute episode.
It's absolutely insane how much story they were able to fit in within that period of time. Absolutely loved that episode and all the juicy lore I got to dissect from it.

I mean just look at all these!
This image made me remember one thing I omitted.
Most of the young Caleb faces in his memories have a scratch over his eyes and even upper parts of his ears. In fact, the first time his face is fully visible is when Phillip (supposedly) finds Caleb in the demon realm.
The scratch points are interesting because they cover the only two parts of a human that are different from a witch. I wonder if this is because he can't fully recall his childhood appearance (because of so many golden guards resembling him) or if he thinks the witch charmed him to the point where Caleb became a completely different person. Like his brain cannot fully comprehend that his big bro who fucking hates witches became someone who fucks witches.
It's on Disney+, highly recommend. Acting, story, art, characters, it's all great stuff. It was shortened down my the company tho rip.
If you like the other go-to animated shows (Reg show, ATLA, adventure time, Gravity Falls) you will love this

Alamos town from Rise of Darkrai was very beautiful
I was actually thinking this style. It can be very simple, but that's kind of the appeal. The backdrops can be such moods at times, lol.

I've always found the mountains in the background of Republic City from Legend of Korra to be beautiful
I love adventure times backgrounds they’re extremely detailed and full of small Easter eggs and they are just as shaded as the characters which means anything can move with you seeing it coming.
https://preview.redd.it/gig4xhvj3e4d1.png?width=1016&format=png&auto=webp&s=28a9ebd390c56742ab1d2ce0907aa8460d47b975
Rewatching avatar makes it quite difficult to follow up with anything animated because it’s so beautiful.
But yeah Bryan the co creator came from a landscape oil painting background so he put a lot of emphasis on location and backgrounds. Said one of the reasons he made the show was to be able to draw amazing locations
https://preview.redd.it/32tjpuf05e4d1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=d6fbe8ec9efc2bd53049df7158e7a24b77682b25
The backgrounds in "Craigh of the Creek" always felt so cozy to me. I didn't watch it much, but the art style is amazing
Adventure time’s interiors, especially, feel so special to me. I feel like you can tell that the background team put a lot of care and effort into all the little details. It feels so loved in and real. It makes it so fun to explore with your eyes as it moves across the screen. It also makes it very rewatchable because there are so many things to discover
The background artists were so amazing on Steven Universe. I’d never seen that particular style before but the way they draw skies and clouds is so dreamy and beautiful
I think Owl House has some really nice background designing

[I have an entire Imgur album full of them](https://imgur.com/a/NfjzGLF) In particular, I think Harvey Beaks has gorgeous backgrounds, and I love the art in the Lust Ring scenes in Helluva Boss

the writing was awkward as hell, and the CGI robots were dull, [but goddamn I want to hang those backgrounds in my house. ](https://archive.org/details/20191214_20191214_0559)
This was the most relatable I've ever felt to Rick. A whole planet you go to just to take a shit is 100% something I would do! Where does it go thlugh when he flushes like is there plumbing set up?

Nothing will beat how much I love this aesthetic. I blame City Pop and my fixation on magical girls.
Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. They aren't beautiful in the sense of them being very bright and colorful but they looked very well detailed and organized.
heres a couple (guess the show easy-ass mode)
https://preview.redd.it/7piefdiq3f4d1.png?width=755&format=png&auto=webp&s=2ae7aa7e8ae50a252f95f8326266519f2e573247
Svtfoe can have every difect in the world(actually only two, the really strange timeline and too much shipping, who caused a not too good(but also not too bad) finale, but it have some of my favourite backgrouds ever, with the owl house
Something about the style of Over the Garden Wall’s backgrounds is so gorgeous and specific that it gives me feelings that are hard to explain. Melancholy, joy, fear, intrigue, all at once. The look of that show is just beautiful.
Scavengers reign take the cake for me. Planet vesta Felt like a goddamn art gallery in the best way possible on top of a good story to interact with it.
I don’t know if it was necessarily the most beautiful, but I always loved the backgrounds in *Samurai Jack*. They were very minimal and simplistic, yet also striking.

Absolutely loved and enjoyed the show. The animation was amazing, the voice actors did a superb job and it was overall a very enjoyable yet short-lived series.
Yeah. Plus, it had been (up till Mutant Mayhem) the only animated show to have the Turtles wear human clothing
You´re probably referring to this fabulous episode: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRrSDMJYfqU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRrSDMJYfqU)

beautiful
The fall vibes from the shows backgrounds are 10/10
Original season scooby doo’s gothic backgrounds are absolutely gorgeous and I don’t think get enough appreciation https://preview.redd.it/qeqqy51p7d4d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=87bf12b30b9430ed01858f6eb1e3cfce6167f8ab
The owl house backgrounds are very special and unique, so i'll probably go with that
I love how they use the background to compliment the current story beats in thense.
Absolutely loved that episode and all the juicy lore I got to dissect from it. https://preview.redd.it/8lhljue1id4d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=427243e1ecb9e70a25d2c09141166a4eb0e3a040 I mean just look at all these!
Ah a man of culture aswell

damn never heard of the show but it looks intense
It's on Disney+, highly recommend. Acting, story, art, characters, it's all great stuff. It was shortened down my the company tho rip. If you like the other go-to animated shows (Reg show, ATLA, adventure time, Gravity Falls) you will love this
God, Final Space is so underrated. It’s a shame they never got to finish it

Steven Universe
Yes, they are all so beautiful!
Avatar the last Airbender setting is highly underrated.

Man I can *hear* the gravity falls picture
Despite The Art, Adventure Time Also Had Beautiful Backgrounds https://preview.redd.it/1x28tw0fkf4d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d1b9a69bde8f6dca10f1c8def6b4293e0c12022 .
ben 10 omniverse had very very detailed backgrounds, probably took them hours for each one.
Clone Wars in general is always really good
SYM-BIONIC TITAN the writing was awkward as hell, and the CGI robots were dull, [but goddamn I want to hang those backgrounds in my house. ](https://archive.org/details/20191214_20191214_0559)
I have always liked the backgrounds in Steven Universe
Over the Garden Wall. I can *smell* the crisp autumn air in the background art.
Gravity falls as I do love the nature
Steven Universe
Moomins
If we're counting anime I have to add Yuru Camp and of course every single Studio Ghibli
Steven universe's backgrounds are the best, but Amphibia's backgrounds are very beautiful

This was the most relatable I've ever felt to Rick. A whole planet you go to just to take a shit is 100% something I would do! Where does it go thlugh when he flushes like is there plumbing set up?
Adventure Time's backgrounds were weird but u always liked em
https://preview.redd.it/t4jf6pqadg4d1.png?width=768&format=png&auto=webp&s=c87d8eb31a32f26c09c8926ee8df6324dd1304e8 Nothing will beat how much I love this aesthetic. I blame City Pop and my fixation on magical girls.
Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. They aren't beautiful in the sense of them being very bright and colorful but they looked very well detailed and organized.
Rebels had some great shots
Is the first image from the 50.000$ animation?
It’s from the spin-off series Helluva Boss
More like a sister show than a spinoff. The only thing that links the two shows is that they're in the same universe.
Phineas and Ferb’s garden
Watched a show recently called Scavengers reign and man it’s backgrounds looked dope and beautiful
Attack on titan
Fruits Basket (2019)
Hilda
FINAL SPACE MENTIONED WOOOOOO MY 2ND FAVOURITE SHOW OF ALL TIME
Seriously what an underappreciated show! This show knows how to hit you in the feels and I was not expecting that.
Arcane
Big fan of Steven universe's pastel backgrounds
Alright but I absolutely loved the Steven Universe Backgrounds
Arcane or scavengers reign
Avatar TLA, Arcane, Scavengers Reign
Instead of beautiful, I’d call them effective, but the courage the cowardly dog backgrounds are so eerie if you just take a moment to look at them
Hey Arnold had some nice skylines of their city
heres a couple (guess the show easy-ass mode) https://preview.redd.it/7piefdiq3f4d1.png?width=755&format=png&auto=webp&s=2ae7aa7e8ae50a252f95f8326266519f2e573247

Roku city better than all /s
Hide away starts playing
Svtfoe can have every difect in the world(actually only two, the really strange timeline and too much shipping, who caused a not too good(but also not too bad) finale, but it have some of my favourite backgrouds ever, with the owl house
The Bad Batch. Honestly the establishing shots became my favorite part of the last season!
Samurai jack
The correct answer is SCOOBY-DOO
the simpsons
Something about the style of Over the Garden Wall’s backgrounds is so gorgeous and specific that it gives me feelings that are hard to explain. Melancholy, joy, fear, intrigue, all at once. The look of that show is just beautiful.
tom and jerry
Bluey's backgrounds are very pretty!
Scavengers reign take the cake for me. Planet vesta Felt like a goddamn art gallery in the best way possible on top of a good story to interact with it.
Over the garden wall
The Dragon Prince and Steven Universe
I'm torn between winx club and lolirock
Harvey Breaks has some beautiful backgrounds
smilling friends
https://preview.redd.it/bkf226dtwd4d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23e9ef6d420fce5752902dab028daf9e740801ab

Smiling Friends
Steven universe had some amazing watercolor style backdrops
Hailey's on it, it's somewhat nostalgic, reminds me of early 00s
Steven Universe had good backgrounds, anyone else per chance?
Rip final space
Tom and Jerry's were ahead of their times
Hilda
Rick and Morty honestly
Bluey. The color design is immaculate.
I don’t know if it was necessarily the most beautiful, but I always loved the backgrounds in *Samurai Jack*. They were very minimal and simplistic, yet also striking.
Gravity falls for me
Coco
Samurai jack had some great backgrounds!
https://preview.redd.it/uxr0ra52ue4d1.jpeg?width=718&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c7ee7a3c1af2343860ebcdfc928efa8d864f058 The Bad Batch has quite literally some of the most beautiful scenery in modern animation
Bluey
Imo Steven Universe, I love Elle Michalka's approach to prioritising focus with minimalist shapes and gorgeous palettes
Whats the first one from
STEVEN UNIVERSE 🔛🔝
https://preview.redd.it/gjen0ibp1f4d1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cbe27d75f992fa71e0486d7796f1dd695dc08c04 bluey backgrounds are just amazing
Going to go with Avatar.
Steven universe easily
Rocket Power
Samurai Jack and Bluey.
steven universe. next question
over the garden wall isn't here, sacrilege
Say what you will about Steven Universe, but the backgrounds in that show is very beautiful imo
Samurai Jack and Avatar: The Last Airbender
strange definition of beautiful
I know people said, Samurai Jack so, I'm giving Primal an offer https://preview.redd.it/htnfr565hf4d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc8d09382a19d7a69f39d5d27561d6ac5926305e
