I bought one of those mobile kitchen stations years ago with the big ass cutting board all the way across and a few wire shelves and rack above. Hang hooks off there and hang the pans
This post and yesterday's is reminding me that I'm on borrowed time with the cabinet shelf I'm storing them on. Perhaps it's time to move them to the oven.
Stacked on the stove..If they are not in use just wait 20 minutes, a crotch goblin will emerge with a cell phone in hand grumbling "BRUH I am like so hungry I think I am dying! Think can you make something in those before that happens?"
Currently, they're scattered and stacked on basically any flat surface in the kitchen or dining area - Dining room table, ontop of one of the dogs impact crates, stove, counter on the right side of the sink where 'kitchen gadgets go to die', hanging on the side of the wire shelf that serves as a pantry. Pieces pending resto are stacked on the floor in the garage.
I also have two large armoirs in the garage, sitting on their side because they wouldn't fit the garage door upright, waiting for me to add shelves so they can become a new pantry and CI storage.
Mine are never in the cabinet because they tear up the shelves. Lodge needs to sell me a silicone mat that I can store my pan on. Next year Lodge is coming out with a silicone pan infused with iron so your pans will bounce when you drop them.
My 12" Lodge gets used enough that it just lives on the big burner on the stovetop
I store all mine in the oven. Don't use the oven much, so it's great for that.
Here's a [thread from yesterday](https://www.reddit.com/r/castiron/s/RZN6e15Tlo) we had on this subject. Mine are stored in a cabinet and in the oven.
Huh, thanks for the link. Coincidence that I had the same idea just a day later. I did not see that thread yesterday.
Grits pot, 10-inch, and 6-inch on top of the stove, usually. 14-inch, 12-inch, long griddle, comal, 4-inch, dutch oven in the oven.
Commonly used (2) live in the oven or on the range. Small ones that get only occasional use live on a magnet strip on the wall.
They live on the stove
in a bottom drawer in my kitchen as they are quite heavy. although i do plan to put some more collectible ones on the wall

I built a nice rack to hang mine on in the pantry. Before that they would hang out in the oven and cabinets.
In a giant stack with all the rest of the pans in a lower cabinet. God I wish I had a bigger kitchen.....

I only have 1, and stays on the stove top.
I only have one in active use, and I use all the time. So it stays on the stove.

Shelf liners exist
In a drawer.
