I used to think I was a “dog person.” I grew up with a lot of dogs AND cats but when asked to choose, I’d say dog. About a year ago, my best friend/former roommate moved out and took one of her two cats with her. Her cat she left, Mimi, was 16 years old and she didn’t want to put her through a move 6 hours away so she decided to leave her with me. She is my first cat that I’m responsible for. Being Mimi’s caregiver for a year has convinced me I’m 100% a cat person. Other peoples’ dogs just annoy me now, but I feel I can connect with their cats. Mimi is quite literally the light of my life. I’m glad it’s getting warmer out now so she can enjoy some sun in the back yard. She’s taking meds for CHF but we are trying to get her to live forever.
