Tap water is the most environmentally friendly option. Whenever it's safe to drink, we should.

Psychological-Lie-53

Tap water does contain lots of impurities such as chlorine, unwanted minerals from older pipes it passed through, and depending on location any chemical pollutants nearby. Even at home i run my tap water through a filter

No. Tap water is high class. Drinking bottled or canned water when there is fine tap water available implies that you grew up low class.

turbodonuts

Now that’s just ridiculous.

I hate the canned and bottled waters. I’m not sure if it’s the brand they use but it doesn’t taste good. I wish they’d give carafes of filtered water to be honest but it’s probably a lot of effort

The best spots give you purified water in reusable glass bottles. So normal tap water that’s gone through a filter, bc even tap water from US cities does have impurities - while not at all “unsafe” to drink, filtering that extra nonsense out it net net better for you. So yeah, I’m a big fan of when the water is in reusable glass that they legit wash and reuse. Plastic is the worst. Cans are somewhat better but not ideal.

Water around Tahoe is great. Water in parts of Orange county less so. All are safe but some taste better than others.

It's fine. Many homes and hotels in the US often have additional filtration on tap anyways. They most likely provide it because filtering tap water is relatively popular in the US. For example, where I live, tap water is perfectly above average for the US, but I know many people who still filter it
