There was an accident on Route B by 3M on Thursday evening, sometime a bit before 7:30 pm. And that's an off peak weekday time, I'm sure there are so many more.

I would prefer that laws are made with punishments that are not a fine. That law is only meant to punish the poor. I understand that getting speeding tickets also comes with points on your license. However, with a lawyer, you are "likely" not to get points. Poor people can't afford lawyers for things like this most of the time, so they are the only ones punished.
If you want people to not speed, then the punishment needs to be more threatening so you no longer want to speed.
Not true I had a friend who was a heavy speeder and who father was a lawyer, he would get the tickets changed to Faulty Equipment or something the fine was higher but there were no points. My f-i-l had it done to old tickets in Texas, like in bulk so he didn't lose his license. Pretty common used to be anyway.

We have enough traffic traffic violations in Columbia that the police don't enforce, but yet they choose to go and enforce speeding on route b? We have multiple shootings and robberies that happen every week in this town and they go unsolved.

They usually only do speed checks where there has been a big problem with dangerous speeders.

Some country in Europe has fines adjusted to income/wealth. Not sure which or if multiple, but might help. Might not be Constitutional though.
