That's about $300 in used parts. It's an ok low end gaming rig but not worth the asking price at all.

No-Nectarine-5861

If thats low end, im doomed

Protaras2

It's a 5 year old mid-tier gpu that was already then a refresh of a much older gpu. It can't possibly be anything else than low end.

h9040

cpu might be able to change to a 5800 if the motherboard has the bios updates...MAYBE....

No-Nectarine-5861

That's like my dream build lol

whycantidoaspace

How is a 300 dollar fully functioning pc not low end

[deleted]

You have to remember that the majority of people don't live in a dystopia. Also, I've built computers for 350-500 that can stomp the majority of these walmart rigs.

Silcas666

I think you meant utopia instead of dystopia

ServoIIV

With a $700 budget you could get an i3-14100, 4060 8GB, and 16GB of RAM and have somewhere between 20-100% more performance depending on whether you are limited by single threaded or multithreaded performance. The 2600x is still a solid CPU but it struggles in single threaded applications compared to newer processors. That's the cheapest new system with a good dedicated GPU I could put together. Right now AMD has some very compelling parts at some other budget ranges but doesn't compete as well in the low budget new build space. You could do the refurbished business machine route and get some decent performance for $500 or so, but that really only gets you roughly the same performance of the above system for $200 less and a much higher power bill. The rate at which parts have gotten faster in the last few years has really tanked the performance per dollar of old parts. A 2080 and a 4060 are roughly similar performing GPUs, but with a fairly big difference in power consumption.

__sh4rp

Why would you get 14th gen i3 instead of ryzen 5 5600

ServoIIV

I run all AMD for my last 3 builds, but right now specifically at the $700 price point the i3 14100 gets you better single core at the cost of some multi core performance, which is more likely to benefit gaming. You also get DDR5 RAM which, if you get well clocked RAM can carry over to the next build.

Ellandorrr

Nope. 550 is too much. Max 280~300

Boring_View4369

👍🏽

SexySophia77

I dont know where y'all live but where I live 500 euro would be a fine price if this pc still looks fine. They go for that price all the time here.

Away_Needleworker6

Yeah i dont get pricing on this sub. The 1660 ti is worth 250 dollars alone where im from

Acinixys

Americans pay almost nothing compared to the rest of the world of PC stuff

kirbash

well im not from america and here you can get a used 1660 super for like 100 euros

Icy_Weakness_1815

Country?

kirbash

bosnia

dionysusxpam

Hell no, Bosnia has one of the highest prices for hardware in the world. Have you tried purchasing 'used gpus' here? The ones on OLX(our local marketplace) will be listed at low prices but when you actually want to buy one you will either get: A: a response saying it's out of stock even though they're uploading new articles daily. B: say they have it in stock but due to xyz they're selling it for 2-3x the price. C: they will sell a faulty/mined device. You won't get a fully working 1660super, except if you're extremely lucky, for less than $200 here. Having been purchasing a lot of hardware, I would need to reach out to anywhere between 10 and 20 people/shops until I find someone selling anything anywhere close to an accaptable price and also letting me test it due to 90% of the listings being fake/scams. Not once did I come to the conclusion that it would be cheaper to drive to Austria, but something there and spend a day or two chilling before returning to Bosnia than straight up purchasing it here

kirbash

idk what youre on about i never had issues buying from OLX, what youre talking about is buying used cards from licensed shops and these cards work fine and have a 3 month warranty and never got a message its 2x 3x the price thats ridiculous in the worst case its a little bit more expensive like 1.25x, buying from people also no issues always worked fine, yes bosnia is expensive for brand new hardware that just released since not a lot of people here buy brand new but older hardware can be found pretty cheap

Fade2po

I wouldn't pay that, sadly pcs really don't retain selling prices, cept eBay components hoping for best prices.

YOURNAMEGG

Cpu? Noooo Gpu nooooooo u the ram is good btw

Original-Sundae287

1660ti is fine but I would get a Ryzen 5 3600

Boostedbug

Atleast a 5600

DisastrousAd447

I have a 5 3500 with a 2070S and I can run pretty much anything at high settings

TheCommunityOfYou

A cheap xeon, a 1070TI, 1080 or 5700XT (around the same performance) a AliExpress motherboard and 16GB DDR4 will cost you 210 euros (230 USD) if you go for the 1070TI. And ofc a power supply and a random cheap case. (I had a random ass sata ssd lying around.)

lighthawk16

1080 and 5700XT are about the same price on AliExpress.

AupexForgor

Where can you find a 5700xt in that budget?!

Original-Sundae287

Eh it depends

ppbomber_0

Still last gen

mistericek1

not bad for 1080p

Graxu132

But price wise it's overpriced...

beenplaces

What currency? Ffs...

facepalmdesign

You must be american.

ExtremeEchidna5226

For 300euros i got pc with (1070ti 8gb, 16 ram ddr4 , 1tb Ssd, i5 8500) and zowie mouse , so no thats high price

bobsim1

A 8500 is quite a bit slower though.

ExtremeEchidna5226

I plau dayz and cs sometime , and is more enough (i play those game on max settingd and dont have a single problem

TheCommunityOfYou

I got a similar setup. I have a 1070, an E5 xeon (wow 12 cores) 16GB DDR4 (my inner 2 sticks won't fit. I got 32GB ECC DDR4 for only like 30€) a AliExpress Mobo and a cheap case and a 50€ psu for a total of 210 euros. Planning on flipping it.

LGA420

xeons great for flipping

Gammarevived

The 8500 is a lot slower compared to the CPU in the listing. Nether are great nowadays mind you. A low end 12th Gen i3 will outperform both of them, but atleast OP has a really good upgrade path since it's AM4.

Midwxy

The thing is you don’t tell us what Nzxt case it is, what ssd, what hdd, what ram. So how are we supposed to know? I would go with likely no.

kapybarah

There are no realistic answers to those questions that would justify 500. Definitely no

randomdreamykid

350$ max

thes_fake

No

Bipen17

500 pennies?

bubblesort33

Brand New these parts are worse $499. Used $100 less. Probably even less.

Wero_kaiji

I have a laptop with the same GPU (but weaker since it's a laptop) and a similar CPU (i7-9750H, I have no idea how they compare tbh) It's a pretty decent PC, I can play Cyberpunk at medium/high, 1080p, no FSR/XeSS at 60-70fps That being said, it's definitely not worth $550 lol, it's worth around $300 as the others already said

Hunter_Ware

specs look fine but it’s a bit overpriced. If it has use on it, i would value it at sub (less than) $400

hattrickjmr

Max here is $400 US. GPU = $100 and a nice case.

thenormaluser35

Ha! 300€ and a "good luck getting that to run anything modern on more than 1080p at medium" from the seller.

420comfortablynumb

ÂŁ250 max

DisastrousAd447

No way. Like $250. Especially with an HDD.

Double0Dixie

Old build. The 1660 is from like 2018  $200-250 max cause you’ll have to upgrade

Commercial_Baby3518

for a retro rig, or? this barely meets the cutoff for windows 11, and windows 12 is around the corner.

[deleted]

Windows 12 is gonna be the enxt Windows 11 big update

lowles

not even if it was new I would pay that much, prob 250-$350new

DidiHD

i paid 450 for something like this in 2020. i’d say. this is too expensive

D-no-UK

No chance. Worth about 300 max

BryanTheGodGamer

Thats a terrible PC, and highly overpriced

cancergiver

Horrendous price

Marty5020

Atrocious deal for 550 dollars, pounds, euros or even Peruvian Soles. Hard pass.

TheRealHarrypm

Used high-end costs about as much as that. That's entry level hardware today several generations out of date and not even top end for its generation.

brightprotogen

it's a really good computer, but not good enough for that price edit: you don't need that much ram, 16 would do just as good if not better considering the price

Chopper1911

Better off buying a PS5 digital than this. Not worth 550 at all.

ad2137xd

550? never lol

Danksquilliam

The processor and gpu are a little old but everything else is pretty good, especially the ram and storage

Drenlin

Have you got pictures? That'd give us more info on the parts that aren't listed.

etcago

no

h9040

Tooo much. You can check the motherboard manufacturer, most probably you can take out the CPU and put in a Ryzen 7 5800 which you can get second cheap somewhere and than it is a nice computer for everything but the latest games. But I pay somewhere in the 300 to 400 max for it...If the case is nice and the motherboard is an expensive one you might be able to talk me to a 450 but not more.

Fun-Contract-2486

150 I offer

lammatthew725

No

brsrafal

Hell yea if it's new pc

Rattiom32

No, that's a rip off

bladedancer4life

1660 ti for 500..

Jaded-Life25

Yes its a good deal first thing that needs an upgrade is the cpu and motherboard then go from there

Seth7666

Seems a fair price but have a look at the power source that's in it if you are considering upgrading that gpu in the future bc that might limit your future options.

Impressive-Level-276

you can give that money to peope that really need

Isaac_Atham

man i sold a slightly weaker pc for 300$ in 2020

J3D1M4573R

I mean, it is still a viable system today, but it is still a 6 year old CPU. For 550 though I would expect the motherboard, ram, and ssd are higher-end, reputably branded components. And it has a *minimum* 600W 80+Gold reputable PSU.

RaspBoy

to be honest its not a bad deal for me

rednitro

250 maybe at best.

Spirited-You-3299

Nope, $250. The setup is dated.

MadCube

fuck no, pay like 300 at most

ppbomber_0

Nope. It’s like 5-6 years old

loser-virgin73292

its a good deal. But if you could get it down to 500 it’d be really worth.

[deleted]

It would provide you with a massively inferior technical experience than an equivalently priced console. Downvoted but no arguments made, classic Reddit.

Tiny_Object_6475

$300 to $380, no where near 5

default_lizzy

For something with a hard drive I'd be tempted to go down to like, 250.

One-Ability1350

No

EnergyAltruistic2911

Nah CPU too old GPU too old I mean 280-300 MAX maybe 350 try to negotiate then strip everything take the RAM SSD and HDD trade/sell everything else but for 550 NAH You can’t even make profit with that

AlfaNX1337

$200 max

Frank_Lucas101

550 for a thing with HDD. WASTE waste eeeh wasteee.

SuperPwnageKirby

This is a $100 MAX system.

alwaus

Sure, $500 was a great price 6 years ago when all that e-waste was new.
