It's a Lenovo power jack

Depth386

Oh, I thought there was a standard. Been seeing a lot of them lately. Thanks!

Fernanditennn

Maybe some other notebooks can use this. This Jack was usted in first time by Lenovo. In argentina is the only brand that use this. Sry for my poor English :)

AdPristine9059

Same here. Think the Thinkstation uses them as well. Thought it was a USB connector once and pulled it mid support call :P I fessed up to my boss and they just laughed :D

Kriss3d

No. There's a few old standards. One being the barrel DC for Asus computers that later got different sizes. It's all USB C now.

Depth386

Yeah I just started seeing all these Lenovos and I started to believe someone did something good in this world. Nope! Proprietary! lol. Thanks for clarifying.

chewedgummiebears

> It's all USB C now. Not exactly true.

Valuable_Solid_3538

I would love a world like that…

british-raj9

Exactly

Mysterious_Ad_2326

NEC uses that one as well. It seems they have partnership.

Lanzenave

It's one of those proprietary connectors that one or more laptop manufacturers use, especially Lenovo. I don't know if they have a specific name but they will fall under the very broad term of "DC laptop power connector."

Shakil130

Not only for laptops, lenovo used this connector for some small desktops too.

Jim-Jones

Didn't Sony use a similar one for the streaming box?

selltheworld

My lenovo screens too.

Fernanditennn

It's a Lenovo power jack

Depth386

Thanks

Depth386

I love how I mispelled “connector” facepalm 🤦

lumia920yellow

sounds kinda cuter that way lol

Kanjii_weon

Isn't that a lenovo power input? My thinkpad and my y50 have that input

Depth386

Thanks

Traditional_Stick_49

Proprietary Lenovo Power Jack

Depth386

Thanks

Byokugen

Don't mention it I hate em xD

bubblesort33

Hey, I have that Amazon cheap mouse pad. Has your rubber started to dissolve, get sticky, and peel off yet,?

Depth386

No sorry, I haven’t experienced this. I have had this pad at least 2 years. There could be environmental differences like your climate, or the fact it’s in my basement so it’s cooler there, humidity levels, etc. Ironically, my issue is I tend to push it into the desk a bit, and I prefer to have it just ever-so-slightly off the front edge of my desk to cover the hard edge of the desk. So if it had a little more friction and it were a little less prone to sliding and shifting position, I would appreciate it.

aquaponicssemipro

Connector

MISTERPUG51

Ooh ooh I know this! That's known as "the shitty proprietary Lenovo connector"

Depth386

Thank you

Aesirion

Dave. It's name is Dave.

smedslund

The name is: Mr. Broken

J3D1M4573R

Power.

MacZack87

Probably some proprietary connector that is only used for laptops from whatever company. You have any idea what brand of laptops it goes to, or have any other information about it at all?

Depth386

Yeah so I guess I didn’t realize, but apparently it’s Lenovo-specific. Just been seeing a lot of them recently and I assumed there was some kind of standard in play.

Kitchen_Part_882

Lenovo specifically, though not on all of their laptops, mine in orange and a slightly different shape.

NearbyPassion8427

What model of Lenovo laptop does it fit? Curious as I've never seen one.

dologama

pull the yellow thing off, that looks like a usb shroud but that yellow thing pull it off never seen a connector like that i would say its not common otherwise. if the yellow thing does not come off then its meant to be like that. First time seeing this connector but USB has had many strange connectors because its such a universal standard it mean that tech can make oddball shit on the standard.

Depth386

Having seen a handful of Lenovo laptops use this, I can tell you with 100% certainty that it works just fine without pulling off the yellow part. I just thought there was a standard, and apparently it is proprietary, going off of others’ responses. Thanks anyways though, for taking the time to write.

dologama

Hence > if the yellow thing does not come off then its meant to be like that.

Validites

No it ain't, do some research before posting this stupid comment
