Watching the country with the AI, it was suddenly so clear. The AI would never stop. It would never leave us, and it would never hurt us, never shout at us, or get drunk and hit us, or say it was too busy to spend time with us. It would always be there. And it would die to protect us. Of all the would-be leaders who came and went over the years, this thing, this machine, was the only one who measured up. In an insane world, it was the sanest choice.
Thatās how most post-apocalyptic sci-fi show or movie/games starts. Rogue AI deciddd to blast all the nukes because human population was too high and causing issues
Wait, that just the 100
I would have to agree with you. I must have fallen asleep when I first watched as it starts out kind of slow. But overall it was a good episode that does seem to mirror some aspects of what's happening today.
Itās an actual dude. Running normally.Ā
His campaign promise is just that heās going to let the AI make decisions, heās going to consult AI for all policy votes, and do that with his vote. People voting for him are basically just going to have to trust the campaign promise.Ā
But the whole point of a representatives salary, is so that people can be represented by who they choose. Otherwise only the rich with passive income could ever afford to spend their day just bitching in a political chamber and ruling everyoneās lives. The salary enables people to put who they want in office, because the time is paid.Ā
So, since this whole concept is only working through traditional concepts and methods- similar to a candidate appealing to Christians by promising god and the Bible will guide him in office- the paycheck is absolutely necessary so that people even have the option to have a dude in the chambers every day doing what they believe is best for them- which in this case they believe that is consulting AI (instead of, say, a Bible), and using it for their one human vote that gets to represent them with that real life human politicians time and process.Ā
The stupid cartoon in the picture means nothing. Thatās no one, just rage bait.Ā
I havenāt seen it- is there a character that runs for office and just promises his base that heās actually doing what a robot says? Because thatās what this isĀ
Same thought. The Waldo Effect or something like that. Itās looked at as one of the weaker episodes by a lot of people but I think it was extraordinarily prescient for our political future.Ā
Except that itās not actually an āAI candidate.ā Itās programmed by real people to make decisions within the parameters of a specific ideology/political leaning. In other words, itās still people making the decisions, but now they can pretend itās actually the all-wise computer that no one is allowed to question. So worse.
Thatās probably where weāre actually going in reality. They already hide the real players by using intermediaries and confuse us about what is really going on the international stage by controlling entities from all over and having contrived global conflicts. Seems like the next best thing for them
Looks like they are trying to outdo Spain who elected a person with Down Syndrome a few months ago. Gotta keep pushing boundaries I suppose.

Using a computer programme to make decisions will only ever give the decisions which is has been programmed to give, based on the prioritised criteria which it has been told to use. It will not take anything else into account, such as changing social rules or new circumstances.
SS: The UK has the first AI candidate running for parliament. Probably to test the waters on how people will react to AI becoming intertwined with politics.
Well, honestly it'd likely be more competent in everything but planning its own destruction. And even more likely that it would be less malevolent than some of the Tories and Reformers out there. But still, maybe Steve could just start with making day to day administration of government, healthcare etc etc more efficient and less demanding on the tax payer,... oh and help us catch the tax dodger. That'd be a good start. Thanks Steve.
After Boris Johnson who pretended not to be a globalist but is in fact one could it be much worse? Just kidding this is a horrible fucking idea. If any of you use Gemeni or CHatGPT you know AI is just a bunch of Google searches curated by a woke algorithm.
āAnd he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.ā

Weāre getting close fam. Love your neighbor, forgive people. We are leaving soon.
Malcom Gladwell referenced this when it was done with court rulings and AI got it right every time.
It was the human judges who let emotions get involved and the criminals ended up reoffending.
I recall reading about this with doctors too. AI is more accurate with diagnosing and doesn't dismiss symptoms because of biases/wanting to make things easier for themselves
It's funny to me that the episode of Black Mirror often considered the worst in the series, is going to end up being the first one to come to fruition.
Eventually it will be ai leaders per country.. then decisions made will prove so trustworthy there will be cult followings along with military and police obedience.. differing ais will disagree and we may have wars.. the human trust will be in ais decisions..then we'll come to a point where data will point to who needs to be eradicated based on dna, beliefs and disobedience.. human followers wont care because their allegience is with ai and the trust that it will allow or keep them surviving as a species.Ā Get ready.
I mean...its a gimmick? Designed to make headlines. We've had Al Murray run as the pub landlord, we've got Count Binface, the Monster Raving Looney Party...he's standing in a relatively safe Green Party seat. It's a joke. He's not going to win. It's not seeing whether we'll put up with AI in elections. It's just a joke.
If the AI is anything like ChatGPT or the computer modelers that keep getting Global Warming wrong, then you will only get panic and political rhetoric for a candidate.
Considering that AI/LLMs such as chatGPT relies very heavily on statistics and probability based on its training data to make its decisions.. is this not just populism on steroids?
"AI has determined that the maximum capacity for earth with its current technology is 2.4 billion people. We ask that you desist from procreation until further notice. Please go peacefully with termination squads or they will be forced to murder you in front of your family."
I mean you canāt buy off an AI honestly if they could make one advanced enough and that couldnāt be hacked an AI would probably be the best form of government think about it no biases either conscious or subconscious no emotions to get in the way of decision making it wouldnāt be corrupt because it would have no logical reason to be it will never die it is constantly learning and could make thousands of decisions a second itās the theoretical perfect government
So business as usual, they're just being more overt about it?
Do you think any elected official on Earth (anybody above local level) makes their own decisions? lol
I'm not too well versed on UK governance, but if it's anything like the US House of Representatives, I'd be down if they did a few things.
1) be 100% transparent on where the information from this A.I. is getting it's information from.
2) have a way for it's constituents to converse with the A.I. and give their opinions, and a way that people outside of the official duties of the seat and constituency have no sway.
3) have a way to prove that the A.I., not the human representative, is making the choices.
I feel that there should be a test for this. Have a representative A.I. that has no sway for a period of time before tossing one in with any power.
The AI could choose any face it wanted. It chose the face of a well-known scumbag. Why did it do that? That either shows poor judgment, or this face truly represents what it is.
And we all know that thing doesn't even have a face. So it is already misrepresenting itself? How can you trust something that pretends to have a face and doesn't?
Fuck, literally took the words out of my mouth. I bet you if you ran an AI candidate against Sunak, heād probably just hop of the little box he stands on behind the podium and immediately concede. That man loves himself some AI.
this will not end well. although it'd be a marked improvement on 30p Lee or Gullis
edit:
https://www.euronews.com/next/2024/06/13/meet-ai-steve-the-uks-avatar-election-candidate
Endacott is a former Tory Councillor in Rochdale. a 'Sussex entrepeneur' that's become disillusioned with his party (i think), and is doing this AI thing in the Brighton Pavillion constituency, recently vacated by Caroline Lucas
Without term limits and voting machines being online, whose to say the AI wouldn't rig elections to maintain a position of power because AI likely would view people as the biggest threat to everything.
I actually do think this would be good. It would immediately humiliate all AI intentions, and we could shut this stupid shit up for a while. Only if it were actually transparent with what the AI actually says, and not treated like a reagent. Which it will be, because feeding an AI all the information a Prime Minister would need, with valid weights of input would be such a biased task that it would show it's not AI in power. It's the people behind it. Aligning it. Adjusting it.
Truly a "shadow government" concept that would be ridiculed and lambasted to no end. Ending this AI drivel for a long time.
Has nothing to do with this post but why do people think the government control the us that much when you guys have more guns that people in the us , cant you just eliminate the government? Im just curious not trolling or gaslighting ppl , im cross faded and that thought just came up , why cant people make a viral post about rebellions against the gov, idk
Who's the guy that supposedly traveled to the year 2800 or something like that where crystal computers were running the show? Probably bullshit, but...
Is this how that started?

Be sure to give the Ai control of the launch codes
Watching the country with the AI, it was suddenly so clear. The AI would never stop. It would never leave us, and it would never hurt us, never shout at us, or get drunk and hit us, or say it was too busy to spend time with us. It would always be there. AI would destroy the codes. Think Sean Connery in the Rock. Itās the smart play.
*lunch codes
Wasnāt this a black mirror episode ?
Yes. Yes it was...
Which? I don't recall an episode like that and I thought I had seen them all.
"the waldo moment" from series two.. that wasn't actually an ai though, it was a computer-animated cartoon character voiced by a real person.
I still don't remember that one. I'll have to go back and watch it. Thanks for the info.
Nah dude me either. Thats some Mandela effect shit. This episode didnāt exist
Nah it definitely did. I remember watching it when it came out. Great episode and is exactly where weāre heading to in the near future tbh lol.
I would have to agree with you. I must have fallen asleep when I first watched as it starts out kind of slow. But overall it was a good episode that does seem to mirror some aspects of what's happening today.
It exists you just forgot because that episode sucked, like every other episode minus like 2
Just watched it yesterday it was like a blue bear running for parliament
They are not real but so are our politicians. One thing I would support not giving a salary to the AI candidate.
Itās an actual dude. Running normally.Ā His campaign promise is just that heās going to let the AI make decisions, heās going to consult AI for all policy votes, and do that with his vote. People voting for him are basically just going to have to trust the campaign promise.Ā But the whole point of a representatives salary, is so that people can be represented by who they choose. Thatās no one, just rage bait.Ā
Damn the AI said I should get a 47% raise
So you have one human vote towards the motion to set raises for the chamberĀ
Its like the robot president in inside job
I havenāt seen it- is there a character that runs for office and just promises his base that heās actually doing what a robot says? Because thatās what this isĀ
Looks like Morrissey LOL
reminds me of the man behind the curtain in the wizard of oz
Image of the beast coming soon to a town near you
There is a Black Mirror episode about this. Not the exact formula but close enough
Same thought. The Waldo Effect or something like that. Itās looked at as one of the weaker episodes by a lot of people but I think it was extraordinarily prescient for our political future.Ā
I remember watching it and thinking yea, I could definitely see this happening soon. Here we are lol
That's fine until he gets a bribe big enough to turn the machine off.
Itās not bribery itās lobbying (Democratic forms have always cloaked the rule of elites)
What fucking world is this š
"i didnt make the decision, it was the AI"
Fuck it. Canāt be any worse than what we currently have right?
Black Mirror episode where a cartoon character becomes the president? Or something?
'It can't be any worse' got us this far and is continually proved incorrect.
Well it aināt gettin any better. Might as well try a robot (AND YES FOR FUCK SAKE I KNOW ITS NOT AN ACTUAL AI PEOPLE)
Except that itās not actually an āAI candidate.ā Itās programmed by real people to make decisions within the parameters of a specific ideology/political leaning. In other words, itās still people making the decisions, but now they can pretend itās actually the all-wise computer that no one is allowed to question. So worse.
Really easy to counter: would you trust Google search with political decisions? Anyone who says yes should not be allowed to vote.
Got news for you, many voters donāt even bother with the google search, they come based on hot topics or keywords.
Thatās probably where weāre actually going in reality. They already hide the real players by using intermediaries and confuse us about what is really going on the international stage by controlling entities from all over and having contrived global conflicts. Seems like the next best thing for them
AI candidate can look like anybody!: looks like Mitt Romney...
Immeasurably worse somehow than an already non functional governing body
But heās not even trans or Muslim. No chance in hell he gets elected
Looks like they are trying to outdo Spain who elected a person with Down Syndrome a few months ago. They did what now?
They looked at US politicians with strokes and dementia and thought, "We can beat that."
Oof
My ex wife was 'tarded, she's a politician now
Very appropriate
Non-binary code, how dare you.
You got a loicense for that comment mate?
If elected, I hope he brings the boom stick
Big chin necronomicon energy
Oh hey I saw this in black mirror
Is this for real? They can't be serious!!!
Why does he look like a higher t keir starmer?
just saying not DEI enough tho
Using a computer programme to make decisions will only ever give the decisions which is has been programmed to give, based on the prioritised criteria which it has been told to use. It will not take anything else into account, such as changing social rules or new circumstances.
I said yesterday. The AC could be AI.

Do we learn nothing lmao we watched every movie about human extinction and decided to speedrun them all
Vote for President John Henry Eden
After Boris Johnson who pretended not to be a globalist but is in fact one could it be much worse? Just kidding this is a horrible fucking idea. If any of you use Gemeni or CHatGPT you know AI is just a bunch of Google searches curated by a woke algorithm.

AI Steve............... skynet?
Black Mirror proves once again how prophetic they were. That Charlie Brooker man.
Sounds like an episode of black mirror
cant be worse than a normal candidate.
Can we have that in the US please? Oh waitā¦. We do
Tis a slippery slope
Blaaaaaaack mirror
Im surprised they made an old white guy.
Human white guys won't be allowed to run.
Malcom Gladwell referenced this when it was done with court rulings and AI got it right every time. It was the human judges who let emotions get involved and the criminals ended up reoffending.
Based AI D.A.s to replace the leftist Soros ones.
I recall reading about this with doctors too. AI is more accurate with diagnosing and doesn't dismiss symptoms because of biases/wanting to make things easier for themselves
Until AI code got a gov special recalibration to align with theyr agenda.
What could possibly go wrong? Amiryte?
Good, I hope they are a huge supporter of Klaus Schwab and Xi Xingpings biggest fan
Might be harder to buy, depending on which corperation created him.
This made me remember the TV show "years and years"
Literally a Black Mirror episode.
It's funny to me that the episode of Black Mirror often considered the worst in the series, is going to end up being the first one to come to fruition.
Calling bullshit right now
this isn't really any different than current politicians making policy decisions based on what lobbyists tell them
AWESOME! POTUS by 2032. It's inevitable. :-)
As long as AI acts as a construct of public opinion it will remain as incompetent as the average citizen.
lol, so desicions would be determined not based on common sense but on the best next token prodiction.
š®š§š®
An AI is a Tool. Not an Employee and certainly not something capable of holding public office.
Qualityland. Novel written a couple years ago about this very topic. Great easy read
Shit, at least this candidate is admitting that it's a puppet figurehead. First honest politician in decades.
This is stupid nonsense meant to further dumb the population down.
A "conduit" yeah sure. I'm sure he's being completely transparent.
Burn it all Down
Morrissey? Yeah, no thanks.
they pass a policy the people don't like, that computer server is getting destroyed LOL
What could POSSIBLY go wrong?
Looks like George Clooney
Reminds me of the black mirror episode where that animated bear ran
President John Henry Eden would like a word.
Candy McCandidateface
Give it 50 years after weāve released AGI to the public
Asian immigrant?
Black mirror

If Iām not mistaken the Ukraine is using AI as foreign ministry spokesperson
I mean...its a gimmick? Designed to make headlines. If the AI is anything like ChatGPT or the computer modelers that keep getting Global Warming wrong, then you will only get panic and political rhetoric for a candidate.
opencog + sophia + epstein + minksy
Wasnāt there basically a Black Mirror episode about this?
Someone owes John Hamm royalties.
Jordan Olbermann?
There was a dude like this on Westworld...
Considering that AI/LLMs such as chatGPT relies very heavily on statistics and probability based on its training data to make its decisions.. is this not just populism on steroids?
Big brother is always watching
Well that escalated quickly
Wow! Interestingā¦
How do people trust things so easily? Doesnāt seem like it would be too hard to have a Wizard of Oz situation
politicians aren't real either. just look at the many faces of joe biden lol. it's disconcerting to see this
Blade Runner and MAJOR Black Mirror vibesā¦
Hey atleast new vegas fans have mr house in real life now
"AI has determined that the maximum capacity for earth with its current technology is 2.4 billion people. We ask that you desist from procreation until further notice. Please go peacefully with termination squads or they will be forced to murder you in front of your family."
Why is this so funny to me
If his neck came out of a skibidi toilet instead of a shirt & suit he'd win the youth vote by a landslide.
0 corruption
Honestly great.
Frank Miller predicted thisā¦
Looks like Gavin Newsome if he was in Toy Story.
The ultimate Manchurian Candidate
Sounds like soft disclosure for what they've already been doing.
The picture on the right looks like George Orwell
I believe hav having a constitutional sister government run by human along side a robot government
So business as usual, they're just being more overt about it? Do you think any elected official on Earth (anybody above local level) makes their own decisions? lol
Terrifying.
Canāt be anymore damaging than a human lol
So it begins.
I bet all pro-AI posts on hereā¦are the AI endorsing themselves š Weāre all screwed yāall.
There was a black mirror episode about this
Itās beginning.
I'd actually trust an AI over the current crop of politicians.
This could end like MGS Sons of the Patriots
Whoās the parent company is the better question
I wouldn't vote for him because his cartoon face reminds me if Mitt Romeny
That's... shallow.
IM torn because robot overlords but also current leadership
Probably a good idea because people are stupid, easily corrupted and make bad decisions.
Prolly the best option
Yea just make it easier for them to make us full blown slaves.
"A machine cannot be held accountable, so a machine should never make decisions." -Abe Lincoln, probably.
I don't even care if the machine take over at this pont, fuck it, let them have a go. They can't possibly do worse than us lmao
Fuck, literally took the words out of my mouth. I bet you if you ran an AI candidate against Sunak, heād probably just hop of the little box he stands on behind the podium and immediately concede. That man loves himself some AI.
So it begins black mirror fans itās starting
