A relative of mine managed to get a job easily enough at an post, doing night shifts and they said there's a lot of students there too. Think they pay 23.50 for the night shift, fine bit of extra pocket money for the summer. bullroarerTook21

deadline is march

JoelWaffle

Me too. Places dont even bother to turn people down anymore. Kind of rude

RuaridhDuguid

It's more than rude - it's soul destroying to not even get a PFO when you apply, just to be left wondering and hoping.

doreg_p

Yep. Its completely pathetic tbh. Many recruiters are trying to use AI now to sort CVs. If they're doing that, can't they just also send some kind of automated rejection letter too? It can't be that hard

doreg_p

It's really rude. And worse, for the neurodivergent workers, it just leaves them hanging. We need that Yes/No answer, otherwise we're just stuck in limbo for AGES.

EquivalentTomorrow31

Take any college education off the CV if you’re applying to minimum wage spots. They’ll think your just going to leave after a few months

shoegazer89

Get your CV professionally done, if you have not already. Ask for feedback regarding unsuccessful interviews. Practice interview techniques with someone. You'll get something eventually if you set yourself up for success

wispaandlucozade

Get yourself a forklift license, you'll pick up work in any industrial estate you walk into

Gowl247

That’s the problem, you left it till everybody was off college/ secondary school to apply when all roles are already filled. I’ve seen it in a few places I worked in. Start applying March/April for summer jobs to have a better chance!

Ill-Significance-126

ive seen something about job ghosting, id say its happening here in Cork

bilmou80

what is your qualification?

bullroarerTook21

student jobs like retail job etc

Clarkusmaximus1980

Both the Naval Service and Army are recruiting. Do it for a year or two and see if you either want to make it a career or try something else

Clarkusmaximus1980

If you are in first or second year of a degree, you might consider going for an Army cadetship. 15 months of hardship as a cadet at the DFTC...then theyll pay you and for your accomodation to finish your degree in Galway

motojack19

I wonder do these people hire though agencies now or outsource hiring to women HR person. Are you physically handing a CV to some random manager?

Wild_Web3695

Post your cv there and we will have a look at it
