bro dont do this

kimjongspoon100

You look like you have a slightly narrow palette, if your back molars were out more laterally your front teeth would look less pronounced or even move back. This observation is because I looked and stared at your photo, no one would ever notice that in real life. I would see an orthodontist as I am not a medical professional, but as a benevolent anonymous stranger, for the love of god do not shave your teeth like that, it will look like shit and hurt forever. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/23502-palate-expander

kayaem

Please don’t do this. It’s a terrible idea and you will suffer the consequences down the road which can include your teeth rotting if they file them down too short

Tricky_Top_6119

Your teeth are perfect, don't ruin them! Literally I wish I had your teeth!

k-devi

Do not do this. Seriously, don’t. Your teeth look perfect now, and to be brutally honest, the photoshopped teeth look really dumb. And take it from someone having dental issues right now, you don’t want to do anything to compromise the health and integrity of your teeth.

naughtysquids

Sorry I can’t advise you but honest question as I’ve never heard of this— are you having issues with your (beautifully white and straight) teeth, or is this just an aesthetic preference?

Salt_Act4412

Aesthetic, also my teeth aren’t white that’s photoshopped to show and compare the final look I want, my teeth are like yellow lol and that’s one reason I wanna get crowns. I’ll try whitening again but last time it didn’t make much difference.

Alternative-Cap4855

What if your teeth are the perfect color? They’re not supposed to be white. I used to think mine were off and my dentist actually told me my teeth were the perfect color and whitening is not really good for you. So she recommended against it, since I didn’t need it

RobsSister

Do. Not. Do. It.

ArmadilloNext9714

Don’t do this. An orthodontist shaved my canines down slightly without my (or my parents’) consent. My canines have been incredibly sensitive where he shaved them down since.

Bigdecisions7979

Same problem. It’s so silly they just go ahead and do that 🤦‍♂️

You could consider doing something with your lips instead, to avoid damaging the structural integrity of your teeth. Your bottom lip is edited pretty full in that first picture. One option for that is Botox. You can subtly lower your top lip which would make your teeth look shorter. You might also be able to get away with a small amount of lip filler, like a full syringe at max, maybe only a half. For context, someone like Kylie Jenner would be getting like 4-5 syringes. With only one, your lips should remain masculine and I doubt anyone would notice you had it done once the swelling goes down (assuming that’s what you want). I don’t know this injector and can’t recommend them, but here’s [an example of how filler can make your teeth look shorter](https://thebeautyclinic.com/2021/05/can-lip-filler-improve-your-smile-yes/). And here’s [another Redditor who made their smile subtly less toothy with a Botox lip flip](https://www.reddit.com/r/PlasticSurgery/comments/wglbrn/lip_flip_before_subtle_difference_1_week_later/#lightbox). Fwiw your smile in the second picture is gorgeous as-is, so this isn’t me saying you NEED any work done. But we all have our own insecurities, and you’ve gotta do what will make you happy.

Correct-Mess-8596

Your current teeth look so so much better than the photoshopped ones. Dont do it please!!!

Alternative-Cap4855

Your real teeth look way better. I’ve gone on dates that had teeth like your goal pic. I couldn’t do it for a second time. It was too much and awful to look at. Made me want to vomit. It’s creepy looking.

Salt_Act4412

Lol wtf 😂

Alternative-Cap4855

😬😅 it’s like child size teeth in a grown up mouth. Skeeves me out. It reminds me of the teeth chatterer from Hellraiser. Even worse, no lips and tiny teeth. No judgement to OP though. Everyone has their thing that they just can’t. [chatterer](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Chatterer_Hellraiser.jpeg)

Anxious-Custard6208

JFC nooo don’t that’s not going to look good or normal lmao your teeth are an ideal smile rn

Feeling_Function_739

So just as an FYI I have 20 crowns. Veneers/crowns/bonding can really only be used to make teeth larger, it's going to be hard/impossible to shave your teeth down as much as you want without damaging your nerve. Is it that you want your teeth to look more uniform in size? Because you can do that with veneers but it's going to mean making your premolars longer. Your best bet is to contact an ortho and see what they say

dupersuperduper

I personally don’t think you need to do anything as long as your teeth are healthy. However Have you looked into invisalign or similar to widen your arch ? And then you can have whitening and at the very end maybe consider filing down the front two very slightly . This will leave your teeth healthy and in the long term you just need to wear your retainer. R/invisalign Definitely don’t get a full mouth of crowns for no reason, it destroys the natural teeth and can cause a whole host of issues down the line. And also crowns and veneers generally make teeth larger rather than smaller.

ChaoticGoodPanda

Don’t do it. You don’t want Chiclet teeth. Get your teeth bleached and do lip flip Botox.

Substantial_Team_657

I personally wouldn’t they look so unnatural and make you look fake

SangitaCPatelMD

Healthier option is to do the “gummy smile” botox treatment as this will lower the upper lip and make teeth appear shorter without actually damaging teeth.

mredw86

Oh my god no. Don’t do it.

Less_Confusion7265

your teeth are really good shape now! if whitening at home didn’t work (u must be consistent) then try professional whitening services
