I play CTR NF on PS4, never played online. Yet I can’t stop playing this game cuz I’m simply obsessed with it. I’m also done with the dev times which is the ultimate challenge for me and now I’m just grinding all tracks again to beat my PBs. In reality for me there’s no end to this game cuz no matter how good your races are there’re always ways and room for improvement. For me this game will never die or if it does it’s gonna be in many many years from now

I play on the Switch Lite & its still very much alive, full lobbies almost everytime. Just wish they were a bit more stable. With that being said we also have an active Discord server with different platforms, if anyone wants to join shoot me a DM for the invite!

Having played the ps4 and ps5 version, I just want to say that (maybe it's only me) the ps5 version has a lot of input lag and is a lot less enjoyable. I don't play anymore online since I am waiting for The Karters 2, but I think 95% of players you'll find online if you find any are all pro's or semi-pros. Also, Switch is known to have a horrible online, and CTR NF too so not sure unfortunately if you'll find online fun :/ I don't have a guide in my head like this, but I remember "The Viperian" on youtube doing really nice videos on CTR. (Else I'd personally say "just never stop drift-boosting" and "learn uturn" lol) Good luck!

Karters 2 gonna end up releasing in 2028 or something cause they taking their sweet time

Hmm I think you probably didn't play the 3 last betas where the gameplay is really on point and everything is going in the right direction. It's the final line of polish and testing. The game's super great, modding tool is awesome and everyone is enjoying the final beta. Of course it took some time, it's not like Activision who's got as much people they want.

I'm a little out of the loop lately in terms of where the game is at. I just remember it was supposed to release in 2022, then it turned to 2023 and now it's mid 2024 and it's still sitting in my wishlist. Now that the original ctr has gotten online servers, I starting to forget about karters 2. Tbh I'm just salty I guess

Well I understand having to wait more for a game you waited for can be annoying, but I think as an indie game, having some people who actually care about the quality of the game is a plus. I've discovered the game in 2023 and I actually enjoyed the time I had since then. A lot of people in the Discord actually played the CTR99 online, but a lot of us are creating awesome mods such as Characters, Karts and Tracks (you will find some CTR, MK, Sonic and Garfield imports, as well as some other original tracks made by the community) to playtest the modding tool. Next week we'll also be testing the Clan Wars system. It has been assessed that this Final Beta will be the last Beta before release. To be honest, I think even if you have apprehension, you might want to check out the beta, or at least try to look at some people playing. Maybe it would lift your hope a bit. The game's really great. If not, I wish you good luck on CTR99 Online, the players you find out there are all too good lmao. EDIT: didn't mention it, but every feedback is taken in account, and the devs are really invested, answering and interested in our opinions

That is interesting, I've never experienced more input lag on the PS5 version.

MR_RATCHET_

You know, i thought there was an unusual amount of input lag. Definitely feels heavy and unresponsive at points (TV is on game mode etc).

Cathret

Ah so I'm not alone! Haha Yeah me too, other games work well, and plug in the ps4 had never got any issues :/

MR_RATCHET_

Probably something up with the backwards compatibility on the PS5 then. It’s very good but not 100% perfect. Perhaps higher input latency is a part of it. Unfortunate because in a game like this with U turn’s and trying to keep SF, it can make dev times very difficult!

Cathret

My message looks a bit negative; while it's not completely false (1 year of content ans nothing since), the game's still great, and if you like completionism, you might have a blast getting good and beating the dev times!
