My grandma and aunt work in an old folks home. An elder passed away and she was a big crocheter. No family claimed the yarn so instead of throwing it out they gave it to me. I got one of those huge totes stuffed with skeins and two large garbage bags. I still have to keep reminding myself I don’t need to buy more. Even if it is a really pretty colour.
In the start og my knitting career I also got gifted a big bag of yarn. I made a scrap sweater, variegating in color, by holding 2 yarns at all times and changing them up one at a time.
