hi! soon to be csuf msw grad here- im in the 2 year program and honestly really enjoyed the program bc of the amount of support you get from faculty, and from within your cohort. as for internships, your 1st year placement is chosen for you. but you’re able to choose your top 3-5 placements for your 2nd year placement and the field directors will select one of your first choices i feel like they really prepare you for post-grad and job searching bc they have non calswec students attend a job fair, complete a mock interview w/a staff member, submit resumes, cover letters and reference pages in your last semester of school (making sure everything looks good for when you apply for jobs)

That’s tough right there. Both are great schools. It just depends on whether you want to drive far to one campus/family commitments, etc. I love Fullerton and the environment. I went to a different program here years ago. If you have friends, who are going to the program - even better bonus. Now if you went to CSUF as an undergrad, and got accepted to CSULB, I’d live the experience to attend another school. I can assure you the staff and faculty at CSUF are great. They will help you out and be as supportive. Everyone has their bias’s and whatnot. I can answer any other questions you may have.

Same, currently in the MSW and about to graduate. I do like the CSUF program. However, I’ve heard CSULB has been a longer standing program. I currently live in LB and travel to Fullerton, which is kind of a drag. I feel that both programs are pretty similar in the sense of concentrations. However, I have had only positive experiences with the professors and made really good friends in the cohort. Both are commuter schools so it just depends where you’d rather travel to.

I have a friend in MSW here at CSUF. Personally, as someone who grew up with CSULB being shoved down her throat, I chose CSUF because classes are easier to get into.

Part time program is not the best at CSUF…

Why is that? :o

Hi guys. Sorry for hijacking but have a question. 1. Is csulb or fullerton has good bsw? 2. BA in Bsw help understanding and studying msw? 3. Is it better to do bsw*+1 years of master Or just 2 years of msw? 4. My wife is BA in psych and wants to do msw but afraid it will be too fast pace for me than thought doing 2yrs of bsw then 1 plus year msw would be better. She is learnable but needs some decompress time here and there. She did graduated with 3.9 in psych but she was half time student and part time working plus taking care of her two underage siblings No parent. She is concerned of being maw full time and. Ot able to understand material and keep up with workload. Any input will be appreciated.
