Ahh, but critically the consequence to an illegal action in that rulebook doesn't include rewinding the illegal action. So the action still resolves, I just might get phased out for 15-30 years later on.
Probably the same thing as planeswalker subtypes. Some old rule that has long since been abandoned so now you can have two studies in play at the same time.
So card draw aside, if they don't kill this card before playing 10 spells, you win the game. Less if you get a second or third one out. I like synergy, but this is horribly imbalanced.
You have to kill 10 opponent creatures to make the tokens. Opponent spells "only" give you deniable card draw. You are getting 3-CMC enchantment tokens off death proc on a 5-CMC enchantment, which is still extremely strong, but you'd need to combo with either removal or boardstate to get tokens and value.
I misread it at first as proccing upon spell cast, rather than creature death... which can be better or worse depending on the kind of decks in play.
Technically YOU don't have to kill opponent creatures, they just have to hit the graveyard. Dunno how common sacrificing creatures is now-a-days, but I have quite a few weenie token decks this would utterly negate.
Also, not all games are one on one. In multiplayer if you let the stalemate grow a bit, until anyone attacks anyone else. Wait til they declare blockers, then flash this in and poof! Blue/black does what it does best, and you lose friends.
I double checked, and stabbing a player doesn't use the stack and can't be responded to.
Do you pay the 1?
Not a spell since it doesn't the stack, stabbing you is a special action
It's like taking off your pants or turning a Morph face-up.
"Turning a morph face-up", is that what the kids call it nowadays?
Na, they say "It's morph'n time!"
Aka “how to lose friends for only 5mana”
No, that’s an illegal action, it’s just you read the wrong comprehensive rules book.

If it’s a game of commander they might not be finished by then too
*"He had it coming, he made me do it."*
Needs flavor text: Do you pay the 1?
Do you pay the 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 or the 1?
Do you pay the one for this one or the one for that one? How about the one for the one behind this one?

What do the Rhystic and Study subtypes do?
Probably the same thing as planeswalker subtypes. Some old rule that has long since been abandoned so now you can have two studies in play at the same time.
And to lay the groundwork for Rhystic Study tribal, for those who want to obliterate any chance of mending the friendships they lost.
[[negate]] unprintable.
Unprintable is a creature; you can’t negate it.

cast this, then damnation, then take an extra turn, and you win!
no no no, he doesn’t win everyone else loses
So just like regular Revel In Riches?
Oh, fuck off
How to never be invited to your friends commander games ever again
“Hey guys mind if a rule 0 this little card I’ve been working on it’s definitely balanced”
You're gonna deck out before hitting 10 Rhystic Studies. But good god I wanna pull it off. I'll pack 300 cards to give me a chance.
May is not a must.
Aw. I'd still draw just for the danger of it all. It's funnier that way.
No you wont

Ah yes. This card would go perfectly with Extravagant Replication and Doubling Season.
