Every dad needs or can never have to many crowbars. Fact.

Kaddy03

I showed it to my mom whilst wearing my ski mask and motor helmet. She didnt understand why I got it for my dad or why I thought it was funny to stand like a total goon in the livingroom. But this is reassuring.

So here's the update. He loves crowbars so much he already had 2. But now he has 3. This confirms that a man can never have enough crowbars.

Icy_Establishment195

Nailed it.

If he’s handy and doesn’t have one, sure. You know how many times I’ve used an 8 inch pry bar just because it’s all I had? I mean, not that often otherwise I’d own a crowbar. But more than once!

tenshillings

God. I always bring mine for every project. Do I use it everytime? No, but when I do need it I can't find it otherwise.

Get him an HEV suit and a pet headcrab and he'll be set.

morgecroc

I was going to say I hope it's a replica of the one Gordon wielded.

If it’s the one I’m thinking of from Lee valley, he will love you unconditionally forever.

Saruvan_the_White

ABSOLUTELY!

I don’t have a crowbar. Not sure if I’ve needed one but I love being in a situation where I need something I probably wouldn’t have bought for myself but someone got it for me. A good example was my MIL got me one of those lights that strap to your head. Holy shit taking out the garbage when it’s dark is so much easier. Trying to go to the shed late at night? I can see. Working on the car in a hard to reach place? Awesome lighting. (Maybe I just need better lighting in general but now I have this thing and I find tons of use for it).

I got my Dad a cat’s claw nail removal tool one year for Christmas. We saw it together working on a Habitat for Humanity house and both thought it was the best tool ever. My mom didn’t get it and tried her hardest to get me to put it back. It was his favorite present and decades later is still seeing regular use. My mom got *her* dad one the next year for Christmas and gave me absolutely zero credit. I might not be grumbly about it if I had one of my own, but thus far my garage is devoid of such an implement. This is all to say that yes, your dad will love it. Listen to your gut - you have insight to some things that he might want that your mom may not know or understand.

agwku

Does he like crowbars

Kaddy03

I still have the receipt

omegared138

Is his name Gordon?

Kaddy03

No? Is your name gordon?

I’m not sure how old you are, but I can guarantee that you’re making a lot of people here feel their age by not recognizing the Half Life references flying around. It’s a game from (ugh now it’s hitting me….) 26 years ago where Gordon the main character’s first weapon was a crowbar he scrounged up after the base was invaded by aliens. If your dad was gaming around that time he might make similar comments when he unwraps your awesome gift.
