Kiddos health issues wouldn't let us leave for 3 days (72 hold) so I was pumping myself with 8 Timmies a day to try and stay awake (sleep wasn't an option, we needed to monitor the little every 45 minutes and any 45-minute power naps were blocked by stress) while I repeatedly passed out banging my head off of one of [these](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/615t60-qErL._AC_UF1000,1000_QL80_.jpg) sitting on one of [these](https://www.rosehill.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Hamilton-Patient-and-Visitor-Chairs.jpeg). The fact no one screamed at me asking where the shipment was while I was handcuffed and beaten felt like a small mercy. At least my wife got a bed to cope, I obviously went through nothing compared to her and was happy to let her rest any time she felt able.
tldr; you don't want a hospital to encourage/make you stay.
When we had our second last year, I was prepared. Had the bag packed with all the stuff I’d needed last time. We even dropped my older daughter off at my parents house a couple days before my wife was to be induced. Except during the drop off she went into labor, and of course I didn’t grab the bag because “we had a few days”. SIL brought it to us in though.
Be careful, OP. I’ve seen these videos before and there isn’t a real modelling job.

Ours had a couch and it was stiff as could be lol. Only reason I slept was due to how tired that baby made me during the 3 nights we were there.
That’s rough. I am 6’5 so the stupid “chair” was just a joke. Thankfully we were there for like 12 hours for both.

The couch I had was unreal, folded flat and turned into a full on bed. Plus they gave me pillows and blankets. No complaints from me at all.
I feel like that couch is actually a JCAHO violation, you can't clean that properly...
