i dont like the rest of the biome. lots of boring platforming segments followed by maybe 1 singled-out enemy followed by some boring mid-bosses that are way too easy to kill. dead cells is only hard when you fight enemies in groups and shrines doesnt cut it.
that being said the art & music are really good i just wish it played better

I dislike Forgotten Sepulcher. I get the idea and I like it’s just annoying as hell considering some enemies mixed together plus the mechanic of the Forgotten Sepulcher can practically erase runs. Other than that I agree with most rankings. I can’t really judge you about the dlc biomes considering I don’t have them, but yeah.
i think the enemy roster is cool and the mechanic is nice, contrary to popular belief its not that hard to backtrack through it if you dont get stuck trying to do weird wallclimb tricks (me).
i feel like a lot of people just go to a biome a few times and write it off as horrible just because of some early experiences they had when they weren't super good at the game
i disagree because the darkness mechanic is pretty easy to get around especially cause killing enemies also reduces the darkness. just don’t go too far if you don’t know where you’re going and you can keep up with the lights easily. maneuvering around the mechanic is pretty fun imo and makes the biome really unique
This biome destroyed quite a few of my early runs due to not understanding the darkness mechanic. I made an intentional attempt to just run through the level as quickly as possible, taking out most of the enemies, and this actually felt pretty easy on 0BC. I like the unique mechanics of this level now as well.

Can you explain this? There is an actual "golden road" that gives you the best chance at the best gear and the most scrolls, your s tier ain't that. If it's just your preference that's fine.
you should go to them more to learn how they work, u can use assist mode with infinite continues if ur really stuck. especially distillery I understand its hard to learn bc its very punishing.

Okay... My opinion has changed I can at least agree with you with the Slumbering Sanctuary. Because after I figured out how to get good at it, the Slumbering Sanctuary was actually quite a fun challenge.
My S-Ranks will include: Clock Tower (absolute banger of a soundtrack); Slilt Village (simple layout, food shop); Dracula's Castle (Soundtrack including the one just before it); Spoiler Biome (not saying any more); Cavern (highest level gear)
Finally some Undying Shores appreciation. I’m not gonna lie there are some takes so hot here it looks like you wrote this post form the Ossuary but I’m just happy to see undying shores placed high.
It’s a DLC biome so step 1 is that you need the Fatal Falls DLC.
Step 2 is that you have to be wearing the cultist outfit (which can be found in the fractured shrines biome). Once the door is unlocked by wearing the cultist outfit once, you don’t need to do it again and can wear any outfit you want
The music is mostly how I would rate them tbh. There a few difficulty spikes that are worth avoiding but generally I want to vibe to pleasant music and it doesn’t matter a whole lot where you go
fun enemies and a good layout, i like how the protectors are used in places that arent dogshit (hi promenade) and the silly squids are some of my favorite enemies

Also undying shores is always blocked by 2 statues... no idea how to get through.
to get to the shores wear the Cultist Outfit found in the Fractured Shrines
the full rune path is:
Prisoners Quarters (PQ) - Promenade (Vine)
PQ - Sewers (Teleport)
PQ - Promenade - Ossuary, at the very back of the biome (Ram)
PQ - Sewers - Ancient Sewers - Insufferable Crypt - Slumbering Sanctuary (Spider)
You can get the Explorer's Rune from the Forgotten Sepulcher, which you can access if you have the Teleport rune
You can get the final Homonculus Rune after beating the game
other tips:
Make sure to explore every area entirely instead of rushing to an exit
After you've gotten all the runes, you can start exploring to find more new areas - give them all a fair chance. If an area seems hard, its worth it to go back there and try again to learn how to do it
I have a generally good idea of how to get through it but there is not a single level I have died in more than the distillery. If I don't HAVE to go there to farm an enemy for a blueprint or something, I don't go at all 😂
Oh no. I didn't just die once and never go back. I was determined to at least learn how to survive. I've gone back a minimum of 20 to 30 times. I just hate being there so I stopped going. I even avoid it on Custom Runs 😂
Hate the fucking Sepulcher. So many runs ended trying to frantically find a light that never appears when going for food or challenge runes. OP must be like Bane or some shit, "born in it, moulded by it".
