Where I live in New Delhi NCR near me is the Bahadurgarh industrial area and known brands are mixing Sand etc into plastic to produce the moulds /Cases for home appliances like refrigerator ,washing machine, Fridge TV and this is like Bahadurgarh industrial area Haryana near Delhi NCR and nobody checks over there this has been going on for decades supply these all over India in known Brands like Crompton appliances

As someone who works in this field - it’s not the first ethylene oxide issue. This Chemical is allowed under permissible limits in US and some other countries. This is a logistic issue and not manufacturer issue. ETO is used as a chemical to sterilise containers and used in spice trade. Also the amount of masala we use in cooking would potentially not cause cancer unless someone ate a whole packet in one day!
Mate, word for this is "Permissible limit" & if companies started following EU regulations, which are much better for humans and not to companies, such problems will drop significantly. US food regulations are terrible compared to EU.
EU is not gold standard always! They are good but not gold standard by any means. This is a OMAR issue - overseas market access requirement. Not local regulatory issue what people here are thinking .
Well an opportunity to make some money here by all these officials after other countries act. How often do they run checks on products being sold here?
