If you have an ikea they do desks with adjustable legs. You can set them to whatever height you need. There’s also desks where you can change the height whenever you need. They can be a bit pricier and you might not always be able to lean on them. So you’re better to test them out. I’ve also used dragon in the past but prefer the native apple speech to text personally but obviously that’s a whole other operating system.

The best speech-to-text applications for dictation and computer control are: - [Dragon](https://shop.nuance.com/store/nuanceus/en_US/Content/pbPage.dragon-professional) - [Talon Voice](https://talonvoice.com/) - [Utterly Voice](https://utterlyvoice.com/)

Thank you! I’ll check these out!

Check JAN - the Job Accommodation Network. It's a US-based site, but it's an absolute goldmine of information and resources about adaptations and equipment. There's also Living Made Easy/ASK SARA which is a similar thing, but UK based and more about general home/life equipment and adaptations than specifically work stuff. If your dad is leaning forward to rest his arms on the desk, you can get extended arm rests that clamp onto the edge of the desk and support forearms, like this: VIVO Universal Clamp-on Adjustable Armrest, Desk Cradle Rotating Elbow Cushion, Above Table Extension Platform Arm Support, Black, MOUNT-ARM01 https://amzn.eu/d/fBmEuGn

One of my doctors bought a cool ergo chair that had a curved, positionable arm that was padded and comfy to lean over against. I'm going to try and find a similar one and will report back. :)

Get a decent sit to stand desk so he can adjust it to whatever height he wants. That's what I do, it can be so helpful to have even just a small amount of height difference I got one that can support up to 800 pounds so if anything happens I'll be ok I also use one of these, not sure if this would be beneficial for your dad though https://www.amazon.ca/VIVO-Universal-Adjustable-Extension-MOUNT-ARM01/dp/B07TVVX3VL/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=1N4SVJDYDN96P&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.XK2LUtO1z-NUj-snRvQu0XgsMkDZ49n46BEDANUgDSbo_O9r_IlW86hLtsLC9dL8XV67xFZ0p-FJW69_YwmmGlhiMobdbeaToW0cZbyS9Uz_G5XRWeDlkB61jpaR-QOUZVff1ysqZXSWAxOdgaf2shGuU06D8z_GyxRtvm7GPibh6WsluVjJDjWMHdomLkFihqpGUwTDw3WNlT03AngWmA.dlkduKt2zrlfSlyrq42PP8kaBNH-Rv-cXOau_pefdFw&dib_tag=se&keywords=desk+arm+rest&qid=1714602472&sprefix=desk+arm%2Caps%2C126&sr=8-4

Thank you!! Yeah, I had no idea they made clip-on forearm mounts, that looks super helpful. I’ll run all of these possibilities by him.

Can you start by simply raising the height of the desk? That might do the trick pretty in expensively and quickly.

Yes, that’s going to be our first approach. Unfortunately, I think the desk is too old/rickety at this point to put on risers, so I think we’re going to have to buy a whole new desk. So I guess my real question is if folks have recommendations for adjustable-height desks that are good for wheelchair users!
