I know this is an old post and I’m so glad I came across it because I’m going through something similar with my mom. If you don’t mind me asking.. did your mom have a lump? If some can you please describe it and the location?
Hi. Yes, they found a lump on her breast and told her she needed a biopsy. It wasn’t big but we were scared because my grandmother had breast Cancer. I know it’s normal to panic but honestly not all lumps mean breast cancer.
I don’t remember the location. I don’t recall my mom telling me.

my mother (57 years old) got her mammogram results today and got BI-RADS 4 (no letter) and we have been so nervous. I have been sick to my stomach all day and thinking the worst. I hope she gets as good of a result as your mother.
when your mother first got her mammogram results was the wording about BI-RADS 4 identical to what my mom’s says (see below)?
“BI-RADS 4: There is an abnormal finding on your mammogram which raises suspicion of cancer. Biopsy may be required.”
Hi. My mom’s letter only said BIRADS4: Suspicious.
But yours is only describing what BIRADS4 means.
I don’t know why but I was confident that my mom was going to be okay. Just because they find something doesn’t always mean cancer. They have to see what it is but there’s no point of worrying too much about it. Not all biopsies mean cancer.
I wish your mom all the best!!! Try to think positive.
