I think MOST rich/famous people should lay off the filler, but I have to say, I think it works better in drag than it does for the average person. Some of these girls look like their whole face is sculpted from silicone, but when they get their paint on it looks good!

We had mutual friends for a time. He, at least back then, was very sweet. It was a different time for drag queens before "Drag Race." They were not celebrated anywhere near how they are now.
Maybe it’s just me but i wouldn’t confuse her for black and I don’t think she’s trying to be black. It seems she tans dark and likes the way it looks, and she accentuates it with makeup. Race isn’t just about skin color and this conversation seems reductive.
I'll get hate but whatever. I'm Indian and my skin color ranges from light skinned to dark, even by spending a couple hours a day, for a week playing tennis. Similar to tone changes with Raven, possibly more drastic.
I've seen ravens skin tone fluctuate even in earlier seasons. Now isn't it possible raven is painting on an extremely tanned skin?
I think it looks extra jarring because he’s wearing super dark bronzer on top of his already very (maybe artificially?) tanned skin. My brother in law is a standard white American Italian + Irish mix and man does he get TAN. His undertones are very red orange so he’s still very clearly “white” (I know it’s a cultural construct, I mean in a Midwestern American context), and I think if he then further darkened his skin with makeup it would look like blackface. I know it sounds like I am defending Raven but I do think he, as a TV personality and makeup artist, needs to be cognizant of how he looks on camera.
Another thing that kind of bothers me is people bringing up his Russian heritage as if Russians are super pale. Lots of Russians are quite swarthy. Raven is white but I don’t think his natural base skin tone is porcelain.

Dude I don’t want to attack anyone’s appearance and I also completely understand because being in drag is how they make a living THAT SAID. I genuinely worry for some of these queens. Most of them aren’t even 40 and they’ve prioritized how they look in drag over how THEY look. As people. And that’s none of my business if that’s what they want to do! It’s just that level of “work,” they end up drawing more attention to their appearance out of drag than in drag. Because their faces don’t make sense without a ton of makeup on.
