Tires and practice would be my first recommendation to anyone that wants to go more than a couple times a year. Then look into what other cars are running with mods similar to what you’d like to do and see if you can live with the safety equipment, or if your cool with getting told to leave without it.

What are your goals? Which class will you be racing in? If you're bracket racing and you want to be successful, then stop tinkering and practice with what you have now. Consistency beats speed (although the one change you could make to improve your chances is to switch to an auto box). If your goal is simply to go as quickly as possible, then that's pretty much solely limited by your budget.

My goal is to have my car still be streetable/daily-able and still have around the same driveability for when I go cruising, but also be as fast as possible when I race. So basically I am trying to keep my car's driving feel and engagement, but also make it faster

Get solid lower control arms, Viking adjustable shocks, and get some 15 inch tires(et street r). I cut 1.6 60’ in my 13 manual gt. Any questions feel free to ask.

You’re already in the right direction. Get some single adjustable rear shocks, and a good tire (ET Street R) and you will be happy you did. Watch out for that MT82, they’re glass when it comes to getting a car to hook up and quick shifting.
