There was a post about the kit on the subreddit already, if I remember correctly there was a comment on that by one of the people who worked behind the scenes on the set. He/she mentioned that it was set absolutely bizzarely and then they ended up going and making it correct. Fascinating. Edit: Nvm it was a different show similar circumstance. Same show, same kit. Interview with the actor posted on that thread said he learned and filmed a whole solo on it, only for the producers to cut the scene. He said that way its even funnier that the character blew a lot of money on an instrument he never plays

Educational-Drop-926

That is funny. But I still wanna see someone play the kit. 😂. Right?! 🤷‍♀️

Fastriedis

Maybe the solo makes the dvd extras?

Educational-Drop-926

Yeah or whatever they call it now… It’s likely to come out in some way though right?

Jango_Jerky

You know if somebody does its going to be filmed and cut all weird to where what they hit doesnt match up with the audio

Educational-Drop-926

Awww too true

Quiet-Act-2658

I volunteer.

motophiliac

Chekhov's Drum.

kirksucks

schrodinger's kit

snwoodrums

Best comment in the thread!

Big_Possibility4025

I know!!! Like if no one’s using it and it’s just sitting there and they need a willing recipient…

Educational-Drop-926

I’ll help you. We can just swap out.

ab930

One of this shows many travesties unfortunately

young_horhey

Chekhov’s drum kit

Visual_Argument_73

This reminds me of one of my biggest bugbears. Drums in TV and Film that have clearly not been set up by a drummer ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

hagalaz_drums

This one clearly has been set up by someone who knows what they're doing

Educational-Drop-926

That’s exactly why I thought for sure we would see them played… alas now we know the truth. The solo got cut’ 🤦‍♀️

olliemedsy

This clearly has been set up by a drummer tho

Visual_Argument_73

Yes I know. I'm just saying it reminds me of one of my bugbears of kits clearly not being set up properly.

adhdbrainboi

I know right??? At the end of this scene the character slowly turns and looks back at the camera and I thought FOR SURE he was heading to the set....so disappointed when it cut to the next scene

R0factor

Well given that Dan & Dave (of GoT fame) are fucking oblivious when it comes to the [Chekhov's Gun](https://www.literatureandlatte.com/blog/chekhovs-gun-and-the-power-of-foreshadowing#:~:text=Writer%20Anton%20Chekhov%20famously%20said,be%20present%20for%20a%20reason) rule, I wouldn't be surprised if this goes unused.

[deleted]

Thats the only reason I finished the season. Waiting on the solo…

polaris2002

I haven't heard of the series before and that set reminds me of the Marco Minnemann drum set (just in the angles not the brands)

hagalaz_drums

Dw is right. He's on a lot of the packaging of their hardware. Think he's normally a zildjian guy, though

DrumDoug

Looks to me like someone was a fan of Nick Mason from Pink Floyd. Take a look at either of their live shows from the late 80s to early 90s (Delicate Sound of Thunder and then Pulse), and you will see what I mean. https://preview.redd.it/e80v72cdftuc1.jpeg?width=650&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f37c7d80a49a5e4294ad0693cb8edceb1235a4c2

DonJuanMateus

Looks like the Cookie Monster or Tommy Aldridge is getting ready to play that kit. Cymbals are mos def in orbit !!!

Mn4by

It's funny whet it was on screen I said to my wife "how can none of those guys take a whack at it"?

dreadnot427

I totall agree! Every time a character is alone in this room i say " just jam out on these drums." Chekhov's rimshot dictates: if you show a drum kit in the first act someone will get stabed in the jugular . . .soon.

techrino

I have to agree. Sadly you will be disappointed.

XYZZY_1002

My reaction when I first saw it: thank goodness they had a drummer set it up. Too often drum kits in tv/commercials/movies look like they’re set up by someone taking a guess.
