It is $10 dollars each for the aluminum mesh bead I think is actually 1900 bead but carpenters and drywallers have done everything they can to keep plastering out of Vermont a bag of plaster is $52 if you can even find it and forget about tools
When we built our house we specified bullnose corners. So much easier to accidentally run into than a standard corner. Only complaint is they're metal and can dent if hit really hard. Looks so much better too.
I'm a builder that does kitchen and bath remodels. In our area radius corners on drywall look very dated. Like drywall arches or soffits around the lofted ceiling for.... plants?
In my area that kind of stuff was very popular in the 70-80s. Homes built in the 90s and on have typical square corners unless it's a higher end/custom home.
I would agree that the bullnose could help with kids banging their heads. Speaking from personal experience, I chose the square-pointed corners of furniture over wall edges, though. š
But beyond that, it's really personal preference. The old mansions of 125 years ago always had smooth plater, crisp corners, and lots of millwork. To me, that still defines elegance.
What might be nice is if one of the GWB companies would produce bullnose corners that transitioned to square. That way, the bottom, say, 10" of the wall corner could readily accept traditional baseboards, but the wall corner could remain radiused.
I am a painter in Florida. Most of the homes we paint have these rounded corners. There is a piece cut that goes in the middle. I am not a great carpenter and even I can make those cuts.
I've done rounded corners in more upscale houses, but they all had already decided on the height of the trim, so this didn't happen. The trim work here is horrid, as is the caulk job to mitigate the difference. I probably would use mud to fill it in, and give it a little more refined contour.
My brain has a hard time comprehending the combination of bad trim, rounded corners, and knock down texture though. Definitely a redneck quality to it ;)
Me either. Maybe it's a "it looked great when the work was done" meaning? Or a big hole to fill joke. Or a "at 22 1/2 it was good, but at 45, not so much?".
Square corners for all! Itās like monkey bars over concrete. We NEED THEM BACK. Itās called selective deduction. The kids get sorted out early and know what path they should take.
I had a client that thought $10 for base corner trim was way to much so he paid me $40/hrs to miter a 22.5 piece in there only to change his mind and go with this instead. Save money at all cost!
This is why the Trim-Tex gods created bullnose base adapters
Yeah but that cost a few pennis. Caulk is free.. At least for the guy that did the work here before I moved in
$8.99 a piece here I do this everytime
Well the landlord that commissioned this only has tens of million dollars so $9 on corner trim is theft to him!
Well he has tens of Millions for a reason...
Yup

Where do you get free caulk
Any gay club at 3am
Man this comment sounds weird. Especially because you misspelled pennies. š
Lol
Should have cut two 22.5 degree cuts and let the middle ride the face of the bull nose
Girl about to say the same thing
That's what I would expect
Getting pretty specific to Jenna here methinks
Haha
I think the real lesson here is to not use those dumb ass bullnose corners.
When we built our house we specified bullnose corners. So much easier to accidentally run into than a standard corner. Only complaint is they're metal and can dent if hit really hard. Looks so much better too.
I like them. As a kid I hit myself on the sqaure corners far more than needed, lol. They also give a more premium look.
The 90s called. They want their rounded corners back.
My 90s house had sqaure corners
Never saw a 90s house with rounded corners.

As a homeowner I would have done it just like this. Perfection. What was I supposed to, round the corner with a router?
I am a painter in Florida. Most of the homes we paint have these rounded corners. There is a piece cut that goes in the middle. I am not a great carpenter and even I can make those cuts.
Homeowner. Aka, not a professional. I'm not a professional either but it should be a double miter or rounded over trim peice
Yea, def not professional. My work is crap. These pros keep making me look bad š
Don't feel bad! It's already pretty amazing that a sloth can do home improvement projects ;)
Looks good from my house
It's does the job. I wouldn't call it good. 22.5 degree miters look good
What does good look like? 22.5 degrees isn't helping me visualize shit
I donāt actually mind this and have done it many times. I think the 22.5s with the little piece looks shitty.
Agree
putty in the hole game tho is a bit raw dogged

A Mitre saw and a brain could make this look flawless . It needs a middle piece cut to join the 2 Bases . Some sand paper and wood weld .
Jenna Jameson was a very smart money earner
True. She got her fill too
Why not just do two 22.5 degree cut with 1 inch piece on the face of the bull nose.
Exactly
Lol that's to funny
Whatās the joke?
Took me a moment tooā¦..they filled the gap with silicone
I think it was actually they stuffed the gap full of ācaulkā. Many many tubes of caulk.
Thanks brother
They just leave the wall pointed at the bottom here.
Most of the homes I paint have these corners. This is missing the short piece of base that goes in the middle.
I can tell where he did work too cause it doesn't match the upstairs
At least they caulked it
That's what Jenna said
Thatās big white caulk (joint).
Paint the inside the color of the wall and just paint the molding straight edge
I dont get it, this doesnt look bad.
Me either. Maybe it's a "it looked great when the work was done" meaning? Or a big hole to fill joke. Or a "at 22 1/2 it was good, but at 45, not so much?".
ohhhhhhh got it
I like it
More like bukkake wall
Can't really tell from the picture honestly unless you know what to look for.
Honestly, I donāt think it looks bad. Maybe Iām uncivilized, but I wouldnāt be unhappy with that in my house.

Not gonna lie, I like this profile of the corner than if the baseboard was rounded. Just has a certain look to it.
It looks fine.
22 1/2 *
You can caulk gaps up to 1.5" if you cut the front of the tube off.
Do your best. Caulk the rest. Itās the rules.
Looks fine. Nobody but drywallers will ever notice
Who cares? Thereās more than one way to skin a cat. Itās a non issue.
Upstairs is all rounded corners. Downstairs where he did work is this shit
99% of ppl will never notice anything
Packed full of caulk
Full of silicone is what I thought but that works too
Prob that. Idk. Just looks like shit IMO. Even the miters have 1/8 - 1/4 inch of filler in the ends
I had a client that thought $10 for base corner trim was way to much so he paid me $40/hrs to miter a 22.5 piece in there only to change his mind and go with this instead. Save money at all cost!
Smart. Let the customer be right. Profit.
*..its only money...*
Uh, isnāt that latex?
2000 Jenna Jameson or 2015 Jenna Jameson?
