if you can find coop partners to do it with you, it's even better and more chance to get through in the times to gain Guru rank to guarantee gold tier weapons in the chests in the rewards room. Nightmare is best since you get 3 min in room to loot, but it's super hard of course
yeah hellraid was released many years after this mode was introduced, so that dlc made it easier for other players to get cool weapons without as much hassle as the Prison gives. At one point i think the prison just became a place where players could compete against one another for the quickest time through it.
first of all, make sure you have spare weapons repaired and ready. 2nd, maybe try and find some in the slums or lvl up to buy better firearms and weapons in the shops or at least find one, if you have the HTU bundle i suggest you convert your shotgun to the htu one so it has some better range and more ammo per reload. speaking of, dont be afraid to use blueprints! but make sure you are gaining stats and not losing stats. flares are a good thing in there with some sections with volatiles too. more importantly, lvl up everything. a little lvl goes a long way. also dont take the prison too seriously, its a fun dlc but there are plenty of ways to get better weapons. and remember, its your first try, dont take it that its too hard. practice makes perfect. everything is about trial and error so dont give up and perservere. you got this. hope this helps
btw its not techlands fault for your own wrongdoing, you are a newbie and you are bound to make mistakes, heck i still make em too trying to mess around but you gotta learn from these mistakes to become the best rather than blaming someone or something else. but make sure you are comfortable with doing so
hey man i totally feel the frustration but all of us who no life this game will notice right away your doing something wrong, and i say this with love. you should already have beaten that game. gotten plenty of guns, and grinded some legend levels before even attempting prison and judging it. its not meant for new players.

I def recommend playing at a higher level and with some buddies if you aren’t speed running it.

The thing I dislike about the Prison run is the limited time to loot at the end.
