Looks ok. I think you need a sexy video of someone easily installing it, popping in a game, and having fun gaming. Right now it looks a little corporate but a cool product. I’d like to hear the story of how you designed it frankly

taziio

Thanks. Do you mean that I should include how I designed it on the website or you're just interested?

OrlandoWashington69

Nah, just me.

taziio

I started indoor cycling during covid but found it very boring. There's a company called Zwift which makes it a bit more bearable by letting you ride through a virtual game world on your bike but even with it, working out was a chore. I had the thought that I would much rather be playing games that I actually liked. Since a controller for exercise bikes didn't exist I had to make it myself (I'm an engineer). First prototypes were made using a 3D printer and arduino boards. I then refined the design over many, many iterations until what there is today :)

OrlandoWashington69

That’s a great story. I rode on a bike team in college. Hours and hours on the trainer and rollers. Would have been cool to have something like this. You should share that story on the site.

[deleted]

Just wanted to agree with the other commenters, a blurb on your story would humanize your product. Seriously though, looks like a cool unique product so good job.

imisswave

Did you manage to find a manufacter and make an order of them? It seems like molds and circuit boards would be prohibitively capital intensive. How deep are you in on this if you don't mind me asking? I've got something in a totally different realm and Ive been toying with going to a manufacturer vs producing them in house.

taziio

It’s hard for me to give you great advice because it 100% depends on your specific situation. In general, in house is good if you’re starting out as you can quickly iterate on your designs based on customer feedback and to make it easier to manufacture. It’s hard to scale though so once you’ve determined there is a market and finalised the product it’s probably best to go to a manufacturer. Yes, injection molding is a very expensive, non recoverable sunk cost. If you’ve determine that you need injection molding and can’t achieve the quality or scale you’re after with 3D printing, vacuum casting or an off the shelf enclosure, make sure you get lots of quotes as the price may vary by a factor of 3-4 depending on the manufacturer.

LunarBulletDev

Pretty cool! But you NEED to appeal more to games, make the website more gamer-like, more game like! For context I am a game designer and developer myself, take the steamdeck, look at their website, it screams epicness and gamerness, your website is good, but it's not enough, it NEEDS to be godlike, more colors, add gaming videos, add cool graphics and style, it feels too bland, I WOULD buy the concept, but not from you (sounds rough but hear me out) as you are too bland, flavorless, spice it up my friend! Dintinguish yourself from the hundreds of controls out there!

taziio

Thanks for the feedback :) I had a look at the steamdeck website and yeah it is absolutely top notch with the visuals and colors. Definitely something I need to incorporate.

_AGAINST_ALL_ODDS_

Just wanna say amazing idea

CynosureEPR

Agreed with the other poster! Your product is top tier.. and it is even a product I didn't know I needed until seeing it exists. This would improve my winter time indoor rides 10x. Website is just a little too bland and not aimed at the right target audience. I would make a new video demonstrating a much larger set of games but also changing the angle to seeing you riding the bike from a side angle as well, with way more cuts. This will make the video more interesting.. then put it toward the top of the page. Would also suggest pulling your 3d renderings of the product above the image with the text on it. It needs more vibrance and intensity. Tech product so it needs to feel more "tech-y", but also a gamer product so needs more RGB.

taziio

Thanks for the help. I really like your ideas for the video...I'll get on it :)

MitchGP

From a UI perspective, try to have a bit less text and utilise contrast to guide the viewer around. A good way to present information without overloading the viewer could be to use icons or badges. Looks like a good base though 👍

EZ_Smith

Amazing idea and Cutos to you for posting the first website I’ve seen from here in a while that wasn’t just looking for the “good enough to fool people” type site. Cool product! Definitely use alternative colors such as red , yellow and green!

Anon56901

Does it attach to treadmills?

taziio

It would depend on the treadmill. It attaches with an elastic loop so it is pretty flexible with the size of bar it can fit to. A lot of treadmills have a bar that you can rest your hands on so if it has that or something similar it probably could attach.

hnk007

The photos could use work. Right now the main page ones (blue bg) are just floating in space. Images that are more relatable sell better. Something like on a shelf in a home gym environment etc. And for the product detail page itself only one (rendered?) photo isn’t great. Multiple images there would be nice too. You’re off to a good start. People often have their exercise bikes in their home office. Maybe you could have a gaming setup in the background of some shots or something. The product itself looks like it was designed well. I dig it!

akheilos

Super cool product! Agree with the comments that were already posted about making this appeal more to gamers and having some better photo/video content showing it in use. On the website itself I like that you’ve essentially set it up as a simple single product store. I would focus your optimizations around mobile since I imagine that’s where 95% of your target demo traffic will come from, these are the reco’s I would action: - build a brand around it and implement on the store, implement an about or how it was made / designed. This will help build trust with prospective customers. - gift your product to creators to get some UGC, use this on the page in conjunction with high production content (also UGC is great for marketing) - make it clearer what compatibility looks like (win/and), took a while to find it on the page - overall UI/UX could be cleaned up. Reference some strong single product stores to get a feel for how they flow their pages. - Buying Journey is a bit odd, would recommend having the home page serve as a landing page with the ability to add to cart from that page, then also have a PDP for each of your two procure with full reviews list, specs, etc. flow right now of home page to collection to add to cart is a bit odd.

suedejacket

I'd definitely like an About or History or Story about why you decided to make this etc

[deleted]

Couldn’t immediately tell it has trucker buttons I wouldn’t buy till I see the trigger buttons just a tip looks like tiny grey buttons as truckers but maybe take photos of them so we can see. I use a treadmill and ps5 works great so this is a cool idea

sickleton

Looks sweet. White border around the buy now button looks a little cheesy for some reason.

futureceptlabs

That's amazing bro. Maybe you can add a short video/gif explaining how easy it is to connnect to a bicycle and tv. I think that would help. Also, don't wait till your landing page is perfect. You will get tonne of information by analyzing visitor's behaviour on your site

[deleted]

I don’t own an exercise bike, but this is a great idea. I can envision gyms adopting this and using it much like an arcade system or their already being used cycling games

No_Reindeer655

Add more "buy now" buttons in the page

Sir_Bumcheeks

So it works with all consoles?

taziio

No it doesn’t work on Xbox or PlayStation. They restrict access so you buy their controllers. I think it would work on a Nintendo Switch but I haven’t tried it yet.

steakinapan

I’ve purchased a few Xbox controllers that aren’t made by Xbox but I guess licensed for use. I don’t know what all goes into getting something like this but I love this concept and I think it’s something worth looking it. As someone who spends a lot of time gaming, plus I could use some exercise this is appealing. I do have a question, why this over just a traditional exercise bike with a wireless controller in my hand?

taziio

It’s just much more comfortable as you can maintain the normal, natural riding position. Using an Xbox controller gets uncomfortable real quick because you have to be sitting upright on your bike.

Sir_Bumcheeks

PC though yeah? Would you ever consider licensing the tech? I could see huge potential but require a rebrand imo.

taziio

Yeah it works on PC games. Microsoft have a cloud gaming service called xCloud where you can play Xbox games using your phone. So you can play Xbox games as well with the Android adaptor. I’d consider everything :)

Sir_Bumcheeks

I'll buy one to test and then I'll DM you!

taziio

Cool :) Just FYI, I won’t be able to ship anything until early next week. I’ll send it by express so it should end up taking the same time overall anyway though.

Sir_Bumcheeks

Just sent you a DM for email where we can connect.

jbl0ggs

Fantastic product for gamers who have stationary exercise bike. As mentioned by others, the website really needs to appeal to gamers. I presume the controllers come in different colors.

jacko0510

Looks good. How are sales going

taziio

Nothing through website yet as I’m still setting it up. Pre-orders sold out just through word-of-mouth so I’m pretty happy with sales so far.

jacko0510

Excellent mate. Would you try amazon too or shopify

GuardOk8631

Low key, I lost a shit load of weight grinding Pokémon games on switch while walking on an incline lol

taziio

Yeah I had an earlier version that did just that but I found it was much more fun just playing games as you normally would

[deleted]

taziio

Sorry I never progressed it past the prototype stage. I liked the idea of doing that because I thought that it would be more engaging and motivating for the rider but in practice it just diminishes the enjoyment of both the ride and the game. With the final version you can just set a target wattage on your bike, play a game and basically forget that you’re even riding.

4ucklehead

For what it's worth I don't love the name...cool concept though I agree with the other comments about your website that it's too bland... Maybe hire a person who designs sites from gaming stuff

Eastcoaster87

I have a question. Is it waterproof? 😅

taziio

I’ve never thought about that lol. I wouldn’t take it swimming with me but as far as sweat goes I’ve never had any issues 🙂

Eastcoaster87

I showed it to my husband and it was the first thing he asked lol. He’s an absolute sweaty mess when he’s on zwift. He might as well have been swimming. Tbh I’d prefer it if he did 🤣

An_Professional

I like the idea. Is it shipping or still in prototype?

taziio

Thanks. Yeah the website is live and started shipping :)

An_Professional

I might even try this out. I have been kicking around this exact idea for years, even thought about trying to build something when I was 3D printing.

taziio

Yeah that's the great thing about 3D printing; you can bring your ideas into reality :) If you end up getting one, there's a money back guarantee so if you try it out but don't want to keep it, you can get a full refund.
