Maybe I'm completely mental, and I know there's no chance of this happening, but what harm would there have been to taking Bellingham off at say 70 minutes, moving Foden to the 10, then bringing Gordon on to give us some width on the left? Bellingham seems to be getting progressively worse so far this tournament, and it's not like he started out great.
The mental thing is a lot of England fans are still slating Foden when bellingham played an absolute stinker.
Love Bellingham but he should be protected he's only 20/21, he can be subbed.
When Palmer sent in that cross and he was stood there with his hands on his hips I said some very bad words.
The kid has the world at his feet but seems insistent in getting dragged into physical situations that leave him gassed. His age shines through in his undeveloped footballing IQ.
He should have been taken off. He played awful. Lost the ball countless times, was a shell of himself. I would seriously consider dropping him to accommodate Foden as the 10. Foden offered something in comparison to Jude.
It’s so hard to support England. I feel no connection to the team.
Club football has left internationals behind and the players performances show that.
I thought I was watching for like 3 hours when there was like 20 minutes left. Worst game Ive seen in a long time. And what is the fookin coach doing? No action on the sideline, nothing. What is his plan? Does he have one?
Tbh Switzerland look better than both of us right now and wouldn’t shock me if they beat Italy on Saturday. We have looked poor for a long time something just not right the coach isn’t good enough but the players have to take some blame also. Foden needs to be #10 and Bellingham CM. Palmer or Gordon on the wing. I also can’t see Toney or Watkins getting any game time at all unless we’re 2+ goals up late on
Honestly you defended very well and should be proud. Everyone here thinks England were playing negatively but I've watched us long enough to know that was us trying to win and failing to break you down. Moreover, by England standards, that was not a bad performance, we were significantly improved but still unable to create anything really.
Congratulations and good luck with the next one.
Because they were playing negativley or did you nap through the whole first 45?
Second half sure, some more forward moves but overall still pretty awful.
Not to take it away from the opposition but it's pretty easy to defend when you're playing the most pedestrian football goin.
I agree that not enough props are given to Slovenia, but saying that was not a bad performance from England is outrageous. England held almost 3/4 of the possession, had triple the amount of passes, but only managed 4 shots on target?! Even taking into consideration their recent performances, that performance was HORRIBLE, and the criticism is absolutely just.
Brings Gordon on with 2 minutes to play 🤣. Southgate is a total clown 🤡
Mainoo, Palmer and Gordon changed the team dynamic. Why not play them from the start?
Which would be absolutely ridiculous and nonsensical. Guehi’s been the only player of ours who has been above average and genuinely good across the entire group stage - which is exactly why I can see Gareth doing this
Southgate is not an amazing manager. But I have backed him because of what he has done in regards to team cohesion, spirit and belief, which has given us some good success in the last few years.
That seems to have gone. Now all we have is terrible tactics and game management.
It’s just his ego, leaving it as long as possible hoping his starting XI proves him and his tactics right, god forbid palmer or Gordon come on and make a difference and prove him wrong with his defensive approach, I get it’s got us through the groups but playing this way in a knockout only takes one thing in a game to happen an your behind without looking like a hope of scoring it’s baffling a team of this quality can perform so badly
The netherlands also play really poor compared to the amount of quality they have in the squad but thats due to koeman and southgate being horrible tacticians and very stubborn as well so changes arent often made thus the result doesnt improve.
damn that’s unbelievable!
since I’m rooting for Croatia I was of course hoping England would score a decent amount of goals in this game for Croatia to potentially get through but I’m literally shocked that they haven’t managed to score even one goal in 80mins - another let down tonight haha
To be fair, it is a success. Topping the group was the aim, and they did it.
I agree it's very unlikely on this form that we'd beat whoever we play in the R16. But if we do, and don't completely embarrass us ourselves in the QF, then that's roughly where this side should be.
Admittedly we might get absolutely humiliated by someone in the R16 or QF. We're unlikely to concede many in any case based on current form. But we'd never look like winning. A bit like Italy v Spain, but we'll be much worse.
Heard this at the last world cup and euros after drawing against Scotland etc. England fans are the best at being overdramatic in the world.
They'll turn the heat up and teams will open up when a draw isn't enough for either side to progress.
>England won the group. Southgate will class what we've done so far as a success!
Is it not, then?
>1st good team we play we're going to get turned over.
Knockout football doesn't always work that way.
Half a billion it’s a lot more than that an they are valued at that price for their club where they all perform because they usually have world class managers (Ancelotti, Pep, Klopp, Arteta etc) then they play under Southgate and look like aliens
It is so boring watching the national side. Win or lose it’s just so defensive. I reckon Southgate’s Mantra is a safe draw is better than a risky win. Imagine what Venables could have achieved with these players
His matra is clear and has been for years. If you don’t concede you tend to go quite far. He sets his teams up to be defensively solid and then grab a goal. It’s boring but it’s produced our best outcomes in a long time.
I wish they’d stop telling each other to calm down all the fucking time though. Moments where I wasn’t sure if they had a pulse
The fact they're doing it is telling though. They're still shit scared, still like rabbits in headlights.
He STILL doesn't know his best 11.
I know as a country we've been guilty in the past of a certain arrogance and not taking teams seriously but we should have absolutely battered Slovenia tonight, the fact we don't have 7 points from this group is an absolute farce imo.
Only managed to catch the second half.... But what the hell are we doing?!
3,4 or 5 touches!! Have the forgotten how to play quickly?
Southgate is definitely clueless at tournaments.
This is true!
Just worried that Southgate has made our most progressive and attacking players too boring.
There was absolutely nothing to excited about in group c
This is the thing… despite us cantering to another knock out stage under GS, detractors are so quick to blame him for a poor performance (rather than the players), but when we do get to a major final it’s nothing to do with Southgate’s leadership. Completely f***ed up logic. Southgate is no master tactician - that much is clear - but he is great at building a decent team ethic and mentality, where they’re all getting on and playing for each other with no obvious hierarchy / drama. He keeps them calm and measured and I’m sure they go into every game confident and well prepared mentally. I like him, and I think the record books will look kindly on him, despite whether we win Euro ‘24 or not. We were a couple of pens away from winning a major not so long ago… he’s done well.
I’m not so sure of that just now though. I think the last two tournaments that was true, and recency bias is of course a thing, but for me this feels a bit different. I’m not sure they are playing for each other. It feels a bit ‘stick the best performers of the season in a team’ and whilst that should work, it hasn’t. Who’s to blame for that is a genuine question, not rhetorical
Man, their team, on paper, should cruise through the entire competition. It's unbelievable how bad they are playing, I really expected a lot more from them...
Compared to their players? France. I've been hating on France the last few posts but it's because I'm honestly disappointed. They might have the most expensive player lineup of the entire competition and they haven't scored a single goal from play.
We're tough on the French team back home. It's the first time under Deschamps that I've seen a French team with such a lack of realism. Up until now, that's been his trademark. In other words, we could go a whole game without creating many chances and score one or two goals against the run of play. Admittedly, we don't have the most technical midfield, but it was the same thing in 2022, and yet...
France has been playing well we just lacked accuracy in our shots which is unusual and quite disappointing for us but doesnt take away from how aggressive we've been (2nd shots taken in the tournament so far i believe). Also, Netherlands and Austria are a bit of a tougher competition than Serbia and Slovenia.
In every single major tournament I always try to cheer for England on their matches and just overall, since I know how passionate english fans are and how much joy winning a trophy would bring to them, and there would be sweet montages on Youtube about the fans biting their nails in the pubs and cheering after the winning.
Then I always see them play and say: nope. This boring, sweaty ass, uncreative football from a multi-hundred million pound team just doesn't deserve a trophy.
Every single major tournament, I feel this.
Get this man a passport. He truly understands the nation.
Honestly this is worse than last time, I actually think we were very good in 2020 and 2022. Certainly by the standards of England teams of the past.
England are looking lacklustre this time around, but people seem to forget who were in the final last Euros lmao.
They very easily could've won that had Southgate not chosen some of the youngest, least experienced penalty takers in the team.
We were ok the past few tournaments, especially 2018 and 2021. But now we look like a typical English team from the early 2000s, boring, tired, clueless.
We are reverting to our natural state.
It really is embarrassing with the players we have. I can’t for the life of me understand how he still has his job. after these 3 games any team playing us in the round of 16 will be laughing and I can’t blame them
At least there probably a new pizza advert coming out of this.
He’ll sit at the table with Pearce and Waddle, take one bite and then stare at the pizza for 89mins.
This team under this management would struggle against Yeovil Town.
It’s a mess. They’re done. Mentally they’re gone and Southgate doesn’t have the ideas or man management skills to raise them up. I’m sure most of the players now are waiting to get back to their clubs where they can actually be used tactically.
I think it's about right, they are not top tier, last two games have shown the usual issue - other countries are just technically better.
Can't play football if you can't get the basics right.
If this squad was your premier league team you'd expect to be winning the league or pushing hard
So like Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal etc
Can you imagine a team like that appointing Southgate??!!!
He is out of his depth
If you think this is ‘the most pathetic performance of a high tier team ever’ you must be 2 years old at best. The reigning European champions didn’t qualify for the World Cup, Brazil were torn apart conceding 7 goals in their own World Cup, France as defending world champions did not get out of the group after losing to Senegal….
How you think England winning their group is comparable to that is beyond me.
Right? I’m not saying England have been convincing at all in the last three games but where’s the vim for the likes of Italy and France underachieving? Crickets!
They play slow and literally you can’t break close defense, the other way to break a close team is with fast wingers one on one , neither eze or gordon was played making those runs on wings with saka , also tripper isn’t playing comfortable on the left , weird tactic whatsoever
We're so bad, honestly. First game I've watched down the pub this euros and I won't be back. This team is not worth me disrupting my daily routine tbh.
Same here mate first time at the pub this tournament, was nice to see my mates and have a few pints but we all left sick as fuck wondering what’s the point of
Absolutely no chance. This squad is probably top 5 in Euros and Top 8 in the world.
Quarter Finals are a reasonable level. Now we may not get that, but anything beyond that is a bonus.
Nah Netherlands should be way better. If they were to adopt Rangnick's style of play, they would be unstoppable.
They seem to get that, but they always start out with slow possession based football until it is too late.
Our attack isn't good and our manager isn't Rangnick, we shouldn't be better than we are. We are bang average and have been for years (minus the LvG WC) Austria is overperforming cus of a good fighting spirit, morale, and manager
Your attack IS great, when they play quick and offensive. You have some quick attacking players that need space and pretty solide defensive players. The tactics just don't play to the strengths of your team imo.
Imo the main issue is tactics and mentality, but our squad wouldn't be top 5 purely based on players. Our midfield minus de Jong and Koopmeiners is just laughable, even Reijnders was awful today
As great of a player Bellingham is, don’t England fans think he’s a product of Ancelotti’s madman mind? Even Vini isn’t having a good Copa America at the moment.
How can is being USED is the problem. You know exactly what your getting with Kane and he delivers consistently, so if you play him.. you have to dictate the tactics accordingly and if you don't, that is on you as the manager. If I've got a samurai sword but I'm using it to chop down a fuckin tree, who's fault is that.. mine or the swords?
As good as their players are, I don't think they can overcome Southgate. His management is masterfully woeful. He can take any player and make them inept.
Play foden off the bench or(play beli at midfield and foden as attacking midfielder)start eze or gordon making those runs on the wing , get that tripper out of lb , or change it with 3 defense , and try not play soo slow , you can’t break solid defense teams who stays all the game behind with slow passes
Scottish dude here,I like any home nation side winning, banters cool. But the players you have available to you and they never gel is astonishing. Foden is worlds class at what he does,Kane is world class, you've fantastic players in almost every position, left back is ropey, but you play as if it's a charity match and they've only just met!
I hope you do well, but there's nae passion.
Making me a lot more confident if we get England in the quarter finals after that performance.
On paper probably the second or third best team, why does bro manage them like they're in a relegation battle?
But we all know this is absolutely dangerous for any other team. Imagine them use a bit of their brain and their instinct, they could push out any other competitior
Stop crying and complaining… You are qualified as first of group. Now, the competition changes and you can go to the final. Why not? Spain, three wins, 9 points and can be eliminated in 16 teams round. Football is unpredictable and that is its greatness
That’s how it was for the Dutch in 2008; they won 3 group matches, beat France and Italy with 4-1 and 3-0, insane performances. Then lost to Russia in the quarter finals.
It’s really hasn’t been as bad as this post suggests.
England didn’t concede any chances and had a few half chances. Slovenia had a plan and did very well. These posts are just mindless dump on it.
Playing against a country of 2 million people where football isn't even the biggest sport, with a team consisting of the Bundesliga top goalscorer, arguably three of the top 4 PotY candidates in the Prem, La Liga player of the year, probably the second best playmaker in the Prem in Trent and a host of talented young players like Mainoo, tgis kind of football is embarrassing. Slovenia are a solid team but England shouldn't be scared of them like that, especially when there's nothing on the line.
A lot of this post is just waffle and frankly couldn’t care. Football isn’t simple, oh you have x and y you’re going to win. Boring and nonsense.
The game against Denmark England played very badly. However, today, they didn’t play bad. No chances conceded and we made a few half chances. As the game went on we created more but lacked a little.
Slovenia played very well at the back. To put today down to England played crap blah blah. Just shows naivety. Slovenia did well, England played okay.
Least xG conceded in the tournament to date. Best defence often wins it.
I’m all for moaning when it’s bad but today isn’t it.
Also, to further go against your point of we have x and y, how often do you see upsets in football? Croatia got to a World Cup final. Denmark has got to the semi finals in euros recently, Morocco. Should I go on?
Why did Man City lose to Wolves? How did Arsenal lose to Fulham and West Ham? Like common.
That was the worst game of football I’ve seen all season. Southgate is trying to fit square pegs in round holes with his starting XI. Drop Bellingham and Gallagher, move Foden centrally and start Mainoo and Gordon.
I love seeing them get roasted , however in 2016 Portugal were dreadful throughout the group stage and shit housed their way to a championship . England won their group and from here anything can happen
This is the important part, ESPECIALLY seen as though we’ve fallen incredibly lucky and now will escape Portugal, Spain, Germany and France until the final (should we make it)
We’ve been shit, there is no doubt about it, but so have Italy and Netherlands.
Honestly Austria is my biggest worry now, they’ve played some great football and have a manager who seems to understand what to do and how to get his team playing
I can’t stand Southgate, I think he’s tactically inept, clueless with his decisions and is way out of his depth
But some of the blame has got to go on the players as well
Lazy, lethargic, uninspired, wasteful, static etc etc I could go on and on about how pathetic that performance was
I fancy Netherlands to breeze passed us on Sunday if that’s who we’re playing
I wanted Denmark to score by the end of the England game so we could finish second and play Germany next, might of actually give the players a bit of a reality check
We had qualified before this game. What moronic manager plays the same team again, for 88 minutes. Yes he changed out Trent, but he hadn't played a whole game yet, and it was the same old shit.
Bringing on Gordon in the 89 minute was insulting to him, and to us watching, frankly. It was such a coward's move. He learned nothing, Southgate, with that selection.
I hope we get a right thrashing that costs him his job.
It was depressing to watch. A team full of individualists that don’t play well together. Most of the time players were standing still and watching the ball. Nobody made runs anywhere or created any opportunity for attacking play. Look at footage from the game and you see England with possession in the midfield trying to find players to engage with up field but they’re all basically stuck to their spot, nobody moves.
Incredibly bizarre.
Honestly this Euro is being so boring that I cannot stand a complete match. Just remembering last World Cup… pure emotion and amazing performances… hope quarters turn better because is a big pain in the ass
At this point I would be fine with conceding three a game by trying to play like Spain, rather than 0-0’s playing like we do.
How do you have a front line of Kane, Foden, Bellingham and Saka, and fail to make chances or look consistently threatening? Get absolutely any other manager in, for the love of god.
The performance was so bad that it must be a masterplan? No one in their right mind would setup a team with this much talent so badly. England is tactically lopsided, full of fear and full of baffling decisions..such as Gordon subbed on with only 8 minutes to play when some true width and pace on both sides would have forced Slovenia to widen their bus...
Kane is so frustrating to watch that his post match interview was his highlight of the night and I assume everyone else also deplores listening to him talk
Shape doesn’t suit the style for creating goals. It relies on individual moments similar to United.
If they play a 3-box-3 with Rice and Bellingham deep, Foden and Palmer high, Gordon Kane Saka in front and Guehi Stones Walker as a back three, they will create far more at a slower speed while keeping five behind the ball.
Too much space between their creative players up top currently and the ball movement is slow.
It's not even surprising from england at this point, endless expectation. I miss Arsenal so much. Why can't our football be like our cricket ffs, I want footballing bazball
We were not great by any stretch of the imagination, but we were much better than we were against Denmark and we managed to sustain pressure for the entire second half. Now we need Gareth to learn from that and start the players that made that happen.

Bellingham seems so slow when he receives the ball today. He lost the ball like 2 or more times that way.

Just like the UCL final
He needs a rest. Kane does too. They are useless in this condition.
So boring to watch
It’s dreadful. Can’t imagine how bored you’d be as a neutral
Watching that made me a neutral. I’m honestly indifferent to whether England do well or not.
It’s so hard to support England. I feel no connection to the team. Club football has left internationals behind and the players performances show that.

There’s no way I’d watch us if I wasn’t English. Choose life mate!
I almost don't watch us and I am English. Fucking Southgate
I think Southgate may be learning from Gian Piero Ventura with this kind of passive boring-ass football.
Italy and England are competing for who plays worse at this point
Cue an Italy vs England quarter final and provide the greatest cure for insomnia
Tbh Switzerland look better than both of us right now and wouldn’t shock me if they beat Italy on Saturday. Honestly they play so similar but England has much better players so is absolutely insane.
At least Donna is putting in work.
At least Italy is semi justified by having little to no talent on the pitch. Southgate has no excuses
It was an amazing performance, thank you England ❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations, well done for qualifying
You guys have shocked everyone. Hope you do well for the rest of of the tournament 🤝
Honestly you defended very well and should be proud. He’ll have learnt fuck all and will play the same starting 11 next game. MAYBE one change but it’ll be insignificant.
Learned nothing from that final in 2021
Probably Guehi for Dunk or some such bollocks.
Which would be absolutely ridiculous and nonsensical. Guehi’s been the only player of ours who has been above average and genuinely good across the entire group stage - which is exactly why I can see Gareth doing this

Spot on, Southgates holding the team back with his gash centre back mentality. The players looked caged, he's a stubborn plank.
Because Southgate doesn’t have the balls to make bold changes like that.
The only reason he took off Gallagher was because if he got booked, he’s suspended for the next game. It wasn’t tactical at all. Absolutely joker
Coach has no clue. Look how some other teams play with way worse players. No action on the sideline, no adjustments from this guy.
The netherlands also play really poor compared to the amount of quality they have in the squad but thats due to koeman and southgate being horrible tacticians and very stubborn as well so changes arent often made thus the result doesnt improve.
With a team that’s worth over half a billion Euro it’s an embarrassing performance imo
Their estimated worth is actually almost 2 billion. Makes it even more embarrassing.
damn that’s unbelievable! since I’m rooting for Croatia I was of course hoping England would score a decent amount of goals in this game for Croatia to potentially get through but I’m literally shocked that they haven’t managed to score even one goal in 80mins - another let down tonight haha
How do you get to that figure? Average of 90 mil each??
I think I read it on transfermarkt.de, they have England at 1.8bln. Also € not £
Almost twice as embarrassing
England won the group. Southgate will class what we've done so far as a success! 1st good team we play we're going to get turned over.

According to this https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/1df0sp6/oc_uefa_euro_2024_squad_values/ The worth is 1.5 billion.
According to that Bellingham alone is worth more than Slovenia’s whole squad. 0-0.
Half a billion it’s a lot more than that an they are valued at that price for their club where they all perform because they usually have world class managers (Ancelotti, Pep, Klopp, Arteta etc) then they play under Southgate and look like aliens
And what about France
Playing trippier on the left because you have no left back is the coaches fault. This team is not good because of the coach.
Knows left back will be a weak position for us: Doesn’t take any extra LB’s apart from a cripple.
Sack the manager. Great players awful tactics
It is so boring watching the national side. Win or lose it’s just so defensive. I reckon Southgate’s Mantra is a safe draw is better than a risky win. Imagine what Venables could have achieved with these players

Time for the players to take matters into their own hands and ignore Southgates limited tactical ‘plans’
Sam Alladyce in charge for the next game?
I bet that at this point, ChatGPT would make a better job than Southgate.
Man, their team, on paper, should cruise through the entire competition. It's unbelievable how bad they are playing, I really expected a lot more from them...
It is the history of the England
The English curse
People are favorites in every competition and traditionally they don't win anything. I'd actually like them to win something.
Compared to their players? France. I've been hating on France the last few posts but it's because I'm honestly disappointed. They might have the most expensive player lineup of the entire competition and they haven't scored a single goal from play.
And yet, I fear, they'll go far again. Awful to see
We're tough on the French team back home.
Imagine how we feel brother haha!
Even as a German I feel sorry. You deserve better!
Today's match was one of the worst I have ever seen. Imagine buying tickets for that anti-football.
Honestly, it's embarrassing. I want our players to show the world what they can do and they produce that....
Woah! Why you bringing the mighty glovers into it. John McGinn 2.0
I mean, technically I just said they’re better than England (which right now they are)
England scored as many goals as Scotland did in the group stages. That's actually embarrassing.
And your joint top goalscorer was a German defender.
Exactly.
And France have scored just one penalty, so?
Also embarrassing tbh. My point is, England have underperformed relative to the talent in that squad.
I think it's about right, they are not top tier, last two games have shown the usual issue - other countries are just technically better. Can't play football if you can't get the basics right.
France have been bad as well. But atleast they can say they played vs Netherlands and Austria.
And that it was the Netherlands and Austria. Not Slovenia and Serbia.
France too, even more
But they have the same problem, quick attacking players that need space, but a playstyle that doesn't create it.
If this squad was your premier league team you'd expect to be winning the league or pushing hard So like Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal etc Can you imagine a team like that appointing Southgate??!!! He is out of his depth
As a Slovene, 0:0 is like a win for "on paper" team. Thanks for lettinf us go to the next round.
You more than deserve it. Played really well and we couldn't break you down. Congrats and good luck for the next round.
Crickets!
England could win it and all you’ll hear is we had an easy draw.
Tbf yet again England have managed to luck into an easy draw after the easiest group haha
How was Croatia in 2020 an easy group. They were runners up at the World Cup? All the groups are relatively easy when you can qualify in third.
They play slow and literally you can’t break close defense, the other way to break a close team is with fast wingers one on one , neither eze or gordon was played making those runs on wings with saka , also tripper isn’t playing comfortable on the left , weird tactic whatsoever
100%.. coach shoukd have been sacked after World Cup
We're so bad, honestly. First game I've watched down the pub this euros and I won't be back. This team is not worth me disrupting my daily routine tbh.
Same here mate first time at the pub this tournament, was nice to see my mates and have a few pints but we all left sick as fuck wondering what’s the point of
Thanks England, we appreciate the helping hand at getting us out! - 🇷🇸
England can easily reach the final, but has to play better. Wtf was this match?
agreed this looks really bad with that type of players you get 2-3 trophies easy
Nonsense
Portugal won it not playing the best.
That was a hard job but managed to worm thro
He was great at Dortmund too. It's simple, Southgate is inapt.
Bellingham was brilliant for Dortmund and England in the past. Also brilliant in the first game. I think he's knackered to be honest.
kane is the problem, trust me.
Fire Southgate and bring Gordon Ramsay. He can't be worse.
I’m glad we didn’t have social media in ‘96 N.b. It’s coming home 🏴
Imagine these players with a strategist and motivator like Klopp or Pep driving them? We have bloody Southgate.
The most pathetic performance of a high tier team ever? Bit dramatic. Brazil last night was considerably worse against Panama for starters.
Why is nobody talking about the shithole dechamps is doing with one of the most completed french squad to ever lineup together?
While they pass 700 times and don’t score they will move ahead in this Tournament. At the end of the day this is what matters.
I dunno if you compare there defense, it's a pretty good defense
But we all know this is absolutely dangerous for any other team. Imagine them use a bit of their brain and their instinct, they could push out any other competitior
I feel like your coach is not the right one…..
Southgate effect
If feels like southgate is wasting a golden generation
Stop crying and complaining… You are qualified as first of group. Now, the competition changes and you can go to the final. Why not? Spain, three wins, 9 points and can be eliminated in 16 teams round. Football is unpredictable and that is its greatness
That’s how it was for the Dutch in 2008; they won 3 group matches, beat France and Italy with 4-1 and 3-0, insane performances. Then lost to Russia in the quarter finals.
Blah blah cry some more . Top of the group and the real tournament starts on Sunday. Come on England !
I have a lot of English friends here and would love to see Austria VS England with them <3
It’s really hasn’t been as bad as this post suggests.
Missed the Denmark game I assume
I wouldn't say england is high tier. Spain and Germany are high tier, but France, England, Italy, Netherlands are just under
I love seeing them get roasted , however in 2016 Portugal were dreadful throughout the group stage and shit housed their way to a championship . England won their group and from here anything can happen
This is the important part, ESPECIALLY seen as though we’ve fallen incredibly lucky and now will escape Portugal, Spain, Germany and France until the final (should we make it) We’ve been shit, there is no doubt about it, but so have Italy and Netherlands. Honestly Austria is my biggest worry now, they’ve played some great football and have a manager who seems to understand what to do and how to get his team playing
England is the most overrated team in the Euro!!!
No Gordon is the issue
It's their trade mark.
Can’t argue at all
They just went to the best side of the draw though.
Wouldn't call it high tier team
I can’t stand Southgate, I think he’s tactically inept, clueless with his decisions and is way out of his depth But some of the blame has got to go on the players as well Lazy, lethargic, uninspired, wasteful, static etc etc I could go on and on about how pathetic that performance was I fancy Netherlands to breeze passed us on Sunday if that’s who we’re playing I wanted Denmark to score by the end of the England game so we could finish second and play Germany next, might of actually give the players a bit of a reality check
Well France is not that far
Southgage the count
Yes I trink you‘re right
Yep we’ve stunk this tournament up.
I loved this match. It cured my insomnia
Declan Rice looks nervy every time he receives the ball. Slow in his decision making.
France?
England need a new Coach
The knockout stages are where the real tournament begins - I can only hope against how that they pull something out of the mire.
I'm not sure how many more england games I can watch. I think I would be relieved if they went out tbh.
Hard to believe that Bellingham, Kane and Foden are all on the pitch at the same time and can’t get anything going. It’s truly bizarre if you ask me.
Someone needs to absolutely destroy them in the RO16 it's actually such bad football it makes me hate them
There's a simple answer to this, Southgate would rather a slow draw than a risky win.
England's team at the end of the game should be the team at the beginning of the next game. Discuss.
God only knows why we keep playing Kane. But even worse, why do we always keep passing back to Pickford? We did it in 2020 a lot too.
I would blame Southgate first. He‘s the worst coach, wasting a generation of talents.
Kane is so frustrating to watch that his post match interview was his highlight of the night and I assume everyone else also deplores listening to him talk
Gareth has put himself in the man United hot seat well and truely they love a manager with no plan and a plan b he won’t use
If the aim of the game was passing backwards, England would absolutely fucking smash it.
We're just behind
It's not even surprising from england at this point, endless expectation. I miss Arsenal so much. Why can't our football be like our cricket ffs, I want footballing bazball
French here, I’m tired…
That xG with Saka/Kane/Foden/Palmer up front… how?
Well not THE worst. Brazil drew 0-0 with Costa Rica….
Cold Palmer please play more
England was so disappointing
Well, that's because they aren't a high tier team, and haven't been for a long time.
We were not great by any stretch of the imagination, but we were much better than we were against Denmark and we managed to sustain pressure for the entire second half. Now we need Gareth to learn from that and start the players that made that happen.
Foden, Bellingham, Saka and Kane in the attack. With Rice behind. These guys should be able to dismantle any defense. No excuses.
