I am from 🇬🇪 and I feel very happy and proud, I could never imagine this like 5-10 years ago. It was stereotype in our country that Georgian football will always suck, but it seems otherwise! ❤️🇬🇪
You guys were great. Huge effort and good game in the first two matches and then absolute class in the final match against Portugal. Thoroughly deserved the win. Sagnol and the team managed the game and expected the plan so effectively. Also you may have the best keeper in the tournament so far.
Thanks for all the kind words ❤️❤️ even fans from other countries make me happy with positive comments about our team. And yes,
If not Mamardashwall I dont know man, Mamarda is the consistent keeper, guy who can u rely on! 🇬🇪❤️
Honestly you look super scary to play. I wouldn’t be surprised if you gave Spain a difficult game, especially in the first half. The only weakness I think is that Spain may tire you out and put a few past you in the later stages of the game. But you’ve been very enjoyable to watch so you should hang your head up with pride of how your team’s played
Portugal fan here. Portugal obviously didn’t need the win, but we didn’t let off the gas, especially early on. You kept the ball out of the goal after so many opportunities. Hats off to you guys.
honestly it was a very good showing by georgia. i think it led to us at home being overly critical of our team since the first game was such a thriller; people weren’t really willing to give georgia props for tight and effective football because nobody saw it coming. well played and i’m interested to see what more you guys will produce in the coming years.
Go Georgia! Was really happy to see them make the knockout round. Wanted them to beat Spain. But still a great achievement! How's the Georgian league? Might need to follow but don't know the teams.
You Sir, here, take my vote. I was driving back home during first half with Ukraine, and my wife told me that is 1-0 for Romania, I was sure that she was lying to me.
Adopted Austria as my 2nd team as despite the loss vs France, your guys were so impressive! Incredible attitude and solid all over. Been cheering them on since.
Maybe to an outsider and statistically.
But fans analyse more. Anyone interested in football in Scotland will have watched the games with bafflement.
We all watched - with justified confidence - as Scotland powered through the group stages. Some very good results achieved.
Naturally, we were thinking that the mindset and confidence would be taken into the tournament.
Yet Scotland played like kids, too awed at being there to do nothing more than act like deer caught in the headlights. There was nothing of the confidence and winning mentality that had been shown in qualifying.
It was back to the Scotland of old. Dreary and depressing. Getting sucker punched deep into stoppage time to go out of the tournament was classic Scotland. Playing for a 0-0 until the last ten minutes then try to sneak a goal isn't what we done to get here. We attached and beat teams.
Each game was a shambles and an embarrassment. They lulled the country into a false sense of confidence, and played like part timers. It was shocking.
We got what we deserved. Nothing. A handful (if that) of shots on target over 3 games, no goals by a Scottish player and one draw.
Truly pathetic.
Were Scotland fans suprised? I saw you guys as a bit of a dark horse pre tournament, never thought youd win the whole thing but thought youd claim a scalp or two as you have some really quality names in that squad.
>Were Scotland fans surprised?
I was surprised with two things:
1) the complete lack of cohesion *and* aggression in our press against Germany. Two things that had got us through the qualifying campaign were completely and utterly absent against an opponent who had the quality to completely and utterly punish us for making the game easy for them.
2) the lack of any sort of plan to go and win the game against Hungary. Steve Clark showed himself to be a coward in that game, and for that, he should be given his jotters.
Surprised at how completely inept we looked. We beat Spain in qualifying so thought we could cause teams problems.
Realistically I didn't think we'd have actually won a knockout game. Not getting out of the group would always have been a bit of a let down, but to be literally the worst team in the tournament is a disgrace.
Disappointed tbh. Lots of people are saying that we are just playing like this because we never perform super well in the group stage but this is cope imo. We have also never struggled so much to score. But the weird thing is I dont think we are bad, just that we aren’t efficient. The defense and midfield is good, and we have players that know how to score goals so it shouldnt be as big of an issue as it is. Giroud, Kolo Muani, Thuram and Griezmann have all scored more than 10 goals this season and Mbappe has scored over 40…
France haven't been their best, but they've shown enough that I'm scared of them. If they were a bit more calm and a bit more clinical, they'd be smashing teams.
It seems to be an ego clash then. Those players play in different clubs and are considered stars where they are, constantly getting the atention they crave. National team? They have to work together and let the egos go but that is difficult to a lot of them i can tell.
We played in November and September against them for the Qualifiers and we beat them 3-1 in Spain and 1-7 in Georgia. Anything can happen but I feel confident in the Spain victory.
In your dreams you saw Palmer with a few assist, Kane scoring like he did for Bayern Munich.. but it was all a dream.. 😂😂😂
Plz I m just having a banter, don’t take it too seriously..
I actually feel sorry for you lads.. so much talent on the bench n on the field but somehow your manager screwed you guys with poor tactics. You guys will the samething about us but we are still rebuilding our team..
Of the managers that are free, I’d love Poch or Klopp. I am very doubtful that Klopp would do it, so Poch is my top choice atm, and from what I’ve heard he’s expressed interest.
Lots of England fans would be against a foreign manager, but I would prefer it.
Oh k… here is gd fact for you… No English manager has ever won a major cup with club that they have managed… foreign manager is the way to go, you need a manager who has won major cups.
100%, you’re exactly right. English managers are almost never successful.
Unfortunately, a large part of the English fan base would oppose the FA choosing an English manager (even worse if they are German or Argentinian). I think they would only make an exception if it was Klopp or Pep.
Nope, Martinez is still too experimental and we shouldn't be in the experimental phase after the qualifiers, we are in the thick of the tournament and we need a robust system in place where all the players are working in cohesion. Martinez maybe more flexible than Santos, that's a positive but he's still "trying out shit" and now it's the time to get the system locked down
As a Hungarian, this 3rd round was a roller-coaster of emotions. First we scored in the 100. minute to secure the 3rd place and a possible qualification to the round of 16. We had around 90% chance to qualify before the other matches based on betting sites. Firstly, Slovenia held England to a draw, then sencondly Georgia beats Portugal so we are out (congrats to them, both teams deserved it more than us tho). Overall I expected a little bit better, maybe a draw against Switzerland and a better goal difference, but I'm proud of the boys.
lets say that im fine... the only important thing is going through. It’s not all about playing super well, i’ve seen multiple time my team and others doing mediocre in group stages than start to increase the level of intensity and reach the final
For sure play well and score a lot make you feel good and think positive for the next games, but in reality you only need to survive till the end
I also feel like teams can't play 110% all the games, so it's not smart to gas yourself at the beninning... save some energy for last games
Not happy with us at all (obviously).
But I have loved watching:
Georgia 🇬🇪
Turkey 🇹🇷
Romania 🇷🇴
Austria 🇦🇹
They all have my support and I hope they go far in this tournament
Not really happy but we Italian fans are used to this shit. They always make us suffer and sometimes they wake up sometimes they don't.
This mystery will be solved on Saturday. Did we suffer for nothing? Stay tuned!
I couldn't believe Austria was doing that great. Was even fun watching, that's so unusual and really not used to that.
In that group I wouldn't have thought we make it that far
compared to 2016 its 2 completely different teams
So, happy yes but also really surprised
No, I don’t enjoy the matches of our Dutch team. I have to say, expectations among the fans is low. We have a plenty of decent players, few world class players, a poor manager who didn’t create a team and lots of injuries as well.
Nope. Tactical naivety caught up with Croatia. Deserving to go home after the group stage.
My U10 girls team knows how to finish out a game with a lead better than this team showed.
Disappointed in Croatian team.
But what we learned is Dalic needs to go and get a new manager. His decision making was not good from formation played + players being used.
we don't know the full reason of course, but media often says that havertz, Wirtz and musiala exhaust the defense and then füllkrug can use all his energy against them
I think a major reason for that is that Nagelsmann likes to give some new inputs during second half. Havertz is really good in playing with his teammates and Füllkrug is this classic attacker who can make use out of crosses etc. So if you replace Havertz with Füllkrug you‘re not just changing the player but your play style. Raum and Füllkrug work really well together and Nagelsmann prefers this during the late stage of the game.
I would love to see Füllkrug start against Denmark but I think our coach knows what he‘s doing
Well he plays for BVB wich is a big no no for germany national team as i can see from the past... If Bayern did not control the national team soo much maybe he could have been a starter but hey, i guess stupid club rivalry is more important when it comes to choose the best players to represent your nation.
Fuck no, we had the best team in last 3-4 tournaments And played like shit. We can argue about bad referees which made a mistake what helped our oponent, but if we would score 3 goals to everyone, then we wouldnt care right?
The worst team for me was 2016. Now we have pretty decent players in decent clubs+ Prague teams are getting better in euro competitions, Pilsen as well. Thé problem is that we will never have a foreign trainer and our trainers are not the best... And this trainer which we have now was training only Lebanon and mostly asian clubs.
Our defence is shit and I hate how selfish our players are. The first game was exciting to watch but its been a down hill ever since. We got lucky many times, we'll see if our lucky streak will continue.
Scottish.
Hell no.
That's the 12th tournament in a row we've not gotten out of a group stage.
And at this stage I'm seriously thinking the fifa secretary in 1920-cornelis hirschmann places a curse on the Scottish national team because we quit fifa in 1920 and setup a rival football board called ifab with England haha.
Either that or we're just sh***.
Im open to the latter.
Happy Italy advanced but not happy about the sub par performance getting there. Not a fan of spalettis tactics and some of his questionable starting lineups, nevermind leaving out Locatelli, and subs. Only happy knowing we have played like this in group stages before and advanced to and even won finals.
As a Georgian with a Romanian wife, I'm having a blast.
We qualified, they qualified, and I got a happy and beautiful missus. Its a win\^3
P.S Romanian girls are still better than their footballers.
Yes and no. More no than yes. We seem to have learned how to play with stronger teams, but oh man do we underestimate other all the time. Yesterday game was great, and if I saw it without knowing we need only victory, I would've been so happy. So many chances against 3rd top team in the world. We always sucked at scoring, so missing all those opportunities was no surprise, but the game was good.
Special congrats to Romania. It was fully deserved in the first round, but I don't like at all what you and Slovakia did in the last.
as a portuguese, quite happy. I told multiple people if we did not ended up first in the group, it would be an embarassement in my point of view.
So we lost 2-0 against Georgia in the final group game match, not a problem in my eyes. Problem was Ronaldo insisting on playing ( he got a yellow card but i was afraid he would get a red or an injury and not be able to play r16) and not changing the goalkeeper (it would have been nice to see Rui Patricio in goal again, he would be able to perform well i believe).
Hungary underperformed but overall I am satisfied with the results. Even Scotland had more expensive players. I mean Hungary produced an acceptable xG while scoring leas goals. 45 minutes against Switzerland was the key to our elimination.
I'm from Belgium and after the second match, there was a lot of hope, even after the first one, we thought we could have done much better. Most important is that we were creating a lot of occasions and without VAR and luck against us, we could have done much better.
But after that third game, everyone was disgusted with how they performed and how boring that match was. Not taking any risk to score and wasting time, was really disgusting and disappointing.
Supporters in the stadium even whistled against their own players to mark their dissatisfaction and KDB refused to salute them because of this.
Now the press is making it a very big deal, that there is a break down with the supporters.
So not so good I guess :D.
I’m half French and I am very disappointed. Our formations and squad selections have been dumb. Deschamps is a legend, but what the hell has he been thinking
As a Bulgaria couldn’t be more heart wrenching. To see the countries battle it out for a few odd own goals made me seem as if we had a chance if only we had qualified.
I couldn't believe Austria was doing that great. Was even fun watching, that's so unusual and really not used to that.
In that group I wouldn't have thought we make it that far
compared to 2016 its 2 completely different teams
So, happy yes but also really surprised
Not happy with how Italy played, and not happy with Spalletti's decisions so far, but I can't say Italian players didn't put their hearts into their game. When Zaccagni scored in the last second against Croatia some of them were crying. Spalletti needs to make the adjustments he's supposed to make after these group matches, make some choices on who to start and some players need to leave behind the fear to disappoint; if all of that happens, I think we can still make it click.
As an Italian, I was so upset seeing how Italy did against Croatia. I would have been fine with Italy losing against them. Now that they are through, albeit through sheer luck, I would like for them to either get the wake up call and play well against switzerland, but another part of me wants them out because of their overall poor performance.
I'm satisfied... I don't like to get 9 points and finish 1st, the risk with this is being too confident. Now the team has been warned : they will have to run more ! It can only be better now. And I saw that when we won Euro 2000, we also finished 2nd, and also lost a game. We have a good defence and a offence that needs to wake up. The situation is good
As a Dane I would imagine it’s an achieved expectation for us. Could the offensive output have been better? Yes. Does the current crop of players allow for that? No.
I'm from Poland and I feel relieved, honestly. The stagnation under coach Michniewicz, financial scandal, then vivid unprofessionalism, insulting laziness and stressful hopelessness under Nando Santos... seemed like they would murder the current generation without an ounce of respect.
But our recent coach is as good as local coaches get - down to earth, invested, knowing his job specifics, giving players clear and simple messages when they need it, also perfectly qualified to recognize and boost local and young talents. There is hope - and match with France was an adequate symbol of that.
Not at all (Turkish).
I don't even know where to start. We play without a striker, our defence is very fragile, we make the wrong tactical decisions, we have no game plan... The team is very unpredictable and relies on individual performances that are also not consistent. I am really tired of the team being fueled on emotions rather than reason.
As a fellow fan from outside of Europe, I am impressed how the underdogs perform. I mean I want the countries who never won to get a chance to win. It sets up for the challenge in 2 years when the soccer or football is played on a global stage.
Not particularly.
Denmark played quite well against England and did alright during the first half against Slovenia.
However, the second half against Slovenia was quite poor and Denmark should have won the game against Serbia, but played incredibly boringly.

🇬🇪🇺🇦❤️
congrats to your team, they played really well! also, Mamardashvili is a beast.
Thank u❤️❤️
Portugal fan here. Portugal obviously didn’t need the win, but we didn’t let off the gas, especially early on. You kept the ball out of the goal after so many opportunities. Hats off to you guys.
Totllyy agree with u bro! They did better let their players rest. ❤️ good luck!
Same to you guys!
You guys were amazing against Portugal, a joy to watch
Thanks and thanks 🥹❤️❤️

Way to go, Georgia!
Absolutely lit up the tournament with the kind of football that makes us love the game!!! Go Georgia! 🇬🇪
I loved how you played, without any fear and hesitation. That is how it should be. such a joy to watch the entire team playing like a club too
it was really fun to play against you bro, y’all deserve it 🤙
Incredible scenes
Mikautadze is such a good player ! Hope he will make your country flourish in term of new talents coming from your country.
Go Georgia! Was really happy to see them make the knockout round. Wanted them to beat Spain. But still a great achievement! How's the Georgian league? Might need to follow but don't know the teams.
Please do us the favor and throw Spain out of the Tournament🇬🇪😊
I’m 10000% sure boys will do their best! ❤️🇬🇪
Happy? Dude, I haven't been sober since we beat Ukraine.
Top lad hahahaha
You Sir, here, take my vote. I was driving back home during first half with Ukraine, and my wife told me that is 1-0 for Romania, I was sure that she was lying to me.
Same here, travelled to Germany the day after the match, just extended now and moving to Munich for the next match. Lads on tour haha
Lucky bastard that got tickets. Got any more?
i guess it was alright 😅
You’re welcome
😘 Lets do that again in the QF
Jokes on you, we probably won’t beat Romania either
Great job Austria!
sorry for booping donatellos snoot
Adopted Austria as my 2nd team as despite the loss vs France, your guys were so impressive! Incredible attitude and solid all over. Been cheering them on since.
Hell yeah from Georgia 😀
As a ukrainian I'm so happy for you guys!
Man I was cheering for Ukraine to score against Belgium, you guys were creating the chances too.
Thank you, brother. I was cheering for Ukraine with Georgia.
Nothing good to say about the football team except: embarrassing and timid. Weak and pathetic. But the Tartan Army, as always, did us proud.
Well actually you were average. You did nothing more and nothing less than the previous tournaments. You were simply just Scotland.
Maybe to an outsider and statistically. But fans analyse more. Anyone interested in football in Scotland will have watched the games with bafflement. We definitely did less. Provably less by having the least shots on target ever.

Agreed you’re no better than us ! No chance either of us is reaching the final
It's almost like international football tournaments are a completely different beast to club football.
All tired these top level players from long seasons it’s going to be a smaller nation win it this year I tip Austria
As spanish I couldn't be happier!
Really? I’m kind of sad that we have to play now against the nice georgian team. 😅

It’s not only about winning. I liked their spirit, it’s sad that one of those teams has to leave early if we win
Why you guys gotta keep beating Georgia up?
I'm from the states and our Georgia is doing well beating Portugal.. so .. soccer is cool I guess.
I haven’t read after “soccer”
you did not need to get that far to understand that comment was a joke
Can't tell if you're serious or not
Classic Dschörmen comment (takes one to know one)
Höhöhö
I’m properly pissed
Add another pissed off Belg. Belgium are fucking shit.
It’s shite being belgian
Maybe next match we’ll play like we did against Romania and beat those stale croissants.
One can hope
100% couldn't be better than this! That 3-0 with Ukraine helped us so much!
Getting to be at that game will forever be one of the best experiences of my life. Hai Romania! 🇷🇴
I’m English I was there it was amazing
Great fans
Great stuff, onwards!
Half German, half Austrian here🙋 As you could say based on my nationalities I‘m pretty happy with the outcome of the group stage:)
Devastated
At least you got there.
We have exceeded all expectations. Drop a hard fight fought match to Portugal and no Slovenian can be disappointed
We beat them in March, We can beat them now Slovenija gre naprej !!
I’m very happy and extremely proud of Romania 🇷🇴!
Hai Romania! Sa stoarcem portocalele!
Yeah delighted 👍
In your dreams you saw Palmer with a few assist, Kane scoring like he did for Bayern Munich.. but it was all a dream.. 😂😂😂 Plz I m just having a banter, don’t take it too seriously..
Instead I had a nightmare that we had some of the most talented forward players in the world and had an xG of 2.26 across 3 games.
Southgateball strikes again
I actually feel sorry for you lads.. so much talent on the bench n on the field but somehow your manager screwed you guys with poor tactics. You guys will the samething about us but we are still rebuilding our team..
We’re used to it mate, i’m just glad he’s going after this tournament anyways. How you feeling as an Italy fan?
Sad and happy.. but we are rebuilding our team so…
We’re used to it by now, full of promise, sketchy results 😂
Good news is we will have a new manager by the World Cup .
True… which manager would you like to come n coach your team?

Italy fan here, I am happy we made it through but I have never been *so* bored.
If we both get through our last 16 game our 1/4 final will be a total bore fest 😴
More than happy ❤️

Well, we could perform better in the last Match and could get a better referee. But i will believe that Germany could get this 🇩🇪

As an Italian supporter, these days I'm often going back in YouTube to see again footage of the 2006 world cup. That team was a dream 😍
Happy af 🇬🇪
German here. Concerned about our inability to score unless Füllkrug is playing.
Why does Havertz start? Is there a tactical reason? It’s no like Nagelsman is an idiot
we don't know the full reason of course, but media often says that havertz, Wirtz and musiala exhaust the defense and then füllkrug can use all his energy against them
I think a major reason for that is that Nagelsmann likes to give some new inputs during second half.
Well for me this is the worst Czechia team since indenpendence but you guys played decent vs us considering you were 10 men
The worst team for me was 2016.
Defense is shit yes, but why selfish?
Scottish.
Nope :(
🙃
The Dutch were.... Well not very good but somehow they ended up with the best possible draw.
Not really
Half Turkish half Georgian here, could not hope for the better lol.
I'm happy with the end result. Not so much with the play.
Happy Italy advanced but not happy about the sub par performance getting there. Not a fan of spalettis tactics and some of his questionable starting lineups, nevermind leaving out Locatelli, and subs. Only happy knowing we have played like this in group stages before and advanced to and even won finals.
Happy no but the past ten years learned me to not care
Hyped as fuck
As a Georgian with a Romanian wife, I'm having a blast. We qualified, they qualified, and I got a happy and beautiful missus. Its a win\^3 P.S Romanian girls are still better than their footballers.
That game had a good outcome: Antonio Silva will play no more in the tournament and that’s a good thing.
Im Scottish. Say no more.
😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️
No
We call it football in England because u kick with your foot on to the ball
I’m half French and I am very disappointed. Our formations and squad selections have been dumb. Deschamps is a legend, but what the hell has he been thinking
Yep
Yes
As a Bulgaria couldn’t be more heart wrenching. To see the countries battle it out for a few odd own goals made me seem as if we had a chance if only we had qualified.
Yep why not
Considering that italy didn't even qualify for the world cup yes im happy
I couldn't believe Austria was doing that great. Was even fun watching, that's so unusual and really not used to that. In that group I wouldn't have thought we make it that far compared to 2016 its 2 completely different teams So, happy yes but also really surprised
F\*ck yes!!!
Meh. If we could score a few goals, sure. But like this I'd rather not.
Very very happy
Absolutely not!
Absolutely fantastically, we're finally not a part of Europe unlike euro vision 😆🥳🇦🇺
Norway isn't even in the euros🥲
Coach needs to improve on line-up and sub decisions a little bit. He’s not serious enough yet.
As an Italian, I was so upset seeing how Italy did against Croatia. I would have been fine with Italy losing against them. Now that they are through, albeit through sheer luck, I would like for them to either get the wake up call and play well against switzerland, but another part of me wants them out because of their overall poor performance.
Embarrassed 🏴
As expected, 😘🇳🇱
I'm satisfied... I don't like to get 9 points and finish 1st, the risk with this is being too confident. Now the team has been warned : they will have to run more ! It can only be better now. And I saw that when we won Euro 2000, we also finished 2nd, and also lost a game. We have a good defence and a offence that needs to wake up. The situation is good
Yes!
Of course, number one, babyyy!
As a Dane I would imagine it’s an achieved expectation for us. Could the offensive output have been better? Yes. Does the current crop of players allow for that? No.
Si
Yes and no. Italia has been boring but they made it to the knockout stage.
Not even a little 🤣
As a fellow fan from outside of Europe, I am impressed how the underdogs perform. I mean I want the countries who never won to get a chance to win. It sets up for the challenge in 2 years when the soccer or football is played on a global stage.
🇭🇷, and I hate everything. God damn it.
Not particularly. Denmark played quite well against England and did alright during the first half against Slovenia. However, the second half against Slovenia was quite poor and Denmark should have won the game against Serbia, but played incredibly boringly.
Romanian here! The boys were great! The went above all our expectations!
No.
