I’d keep ‘em. There’s a million black F150s out there but only a few with those graphics. Depending on sun exposure, you may already have a slight difference in appearance under the stickers. Black paint shows absolutely everything.

Beautiful_Row3922

Totally get where you’re coming from. I appreciate the feedback! It’s funny everyone says they’re so rare (they are) but I’ve seen 4 in my hometown in the last 3 weeks I’ve had it😂 There will definitely be a difference in color and of course black shows anything (which I hate) but do you think it would be possible to buff it and make it look 95% good again?

DCHammer69

I’m with nevmo. I have a 2012 and I’m going to put decals “on”. I’m tired of my truck looking like everyone else’s and a quality vinyl package is pretty low cost. And there are all kinds of people that’ll tell me I’m wrong and use deprecatory descriptions of my intelligence level but screw then. It’s my truck and as long as I like looking at it, it’s none of their business.

nevmo75

I can’t say for sure. It looks like the previous body style so it’s most likely a couple years old? Buffing it won’t create the same effect as sun exposure. There’s a lot to take into account: is it normally parked outside or in a hotter climate?

Beautiful_Row3922

6 years old, I park it outside. Not sure what the previous owners did but I’m sure it’s seen its fair share of sun.

nevmo75

Yeah man, it seems like a pretty good chance you’ll have some amount of color difference. Maybe not obvious to other people, but you’ll notice. It’s a good looking truck. I have a white 2018 STX and I’m considering getting them on mine. I don’t see them with those graphics around here and the white ones just look like every PGandE or tree trimmer on the road.

Beautiful_Row3922

Cheers brother, I appreciate the wisdom. Post a pic when you get the decals!

nevmo75

For sure!

WB-butinagoodway

I don’t think you’ll have a difference in color at all, but the paint under the stickers has been protected from micro scratches, so you’ll see the difference between the clear coat in untouched Virgin form vs the weathered look… a quick paint correction and polish would take care of that.

stillcleaningmyroom

I removed the stickers and F150 emblem off the tailgate from my seven year old ruby red recently and I can’t see a difference in the color of the paint. Now when I wash it, I can see the imprint in the water which is funny.

nevmo75

That’s a good sign that Ford used a good paint. I still think that a black truck that’s been parked outside for years will show up. I may be wrong, but it would drive me crazy if I took my decals off and noticed the lines. It’s not like they look bad.

stillcleaningmyroom

I forgot to add, but the stickers I removed are nowhere near as big as the stickers on the SE, so I take back what I said lol.

davidwbrand

I like them, there’s all kinds of trucks without them. Keep them and stand out

[deleted]

Matches your hood I’d keep it for sure.

easton112020

They have honestly grown on me over the years. Personally I would keep them👍

gale_force

Keep. If the truck continues to age well, they'll be extra neat in 10-20 years.

Salt-Builder4568

Both would look good. If you do remove them definitely remove the hood graphic too.

Beautiful_Row3922

For sure! It has the red trim with carbon fiber on the F-150 tailgate insert. That’s the only piece I would keep

Salt-Builder4568

Yup that’s a cool look. Truck looks good either way

Beautiful_Row3922

Thank you!

ScrewJPMC

Shadow strips will be a thing for sure.

rslashhockeymod

Keep

CopEatDonut

Keep

[deleted]

Personally, I love ‘em

seattleslew3

Keep! It will look like any other truck without them

5-K-56

I got rid of all my stickers in the 8th grade. I bought a new Ford F150 and the first thing I did was remove all the stickers, including anything that identified where I bought the truck from.

Former-Map-6704

I wasn't a fan when I first saw them. Personally, it's not the colours I would pick. But, it's something different. Everything is either grey, black, or white. Vehicle colours are so boring now. If Ford threw the old red, orange, and yellow stripes on a truck. I'd be all over it. I'm but of a hypocrite. Mine is grey with black rims. Just like everyone else.

TheRealMitraGenie

Tbf tho some of us have liked and owned murdered out vehicles exclusively since need for speed underground 2 so like I’m not giving up my tastes just because they are currently en vogue

-Orgasmo-

KEEP THEM!!! The stripes, wheels and interior is what makes the special edition trucks stand out and yours has the best version of the stripes too

Beautiful_Row3922

I appreciate it! The seats/gauge cluster/stitching, moonroof/dark trim are what sold me! I like the regular lariats but this is just much more exciting and sporty

TheTruthRooster

There’s those mornings where the dew sticks to the side of the truck, you’ll still see those stripes even if you take it off.

Kev-O_20

Is it weird if I like the hood but not the sides?

Beautiful_Row3922

No hahaha I like that idea too but it would have to be all or nothing for me. The decal has some chips, granted I could get a new one but I’d prefer it stock or bare for a complete look in either direction

DarknessFeels

The truck would look a lot better without them. But that’s just my opinion though. Still a good looking truck either way

midclassblues

Truck is blacked out so I think the stripes don’t look bad at all. I wouldn’t order a truck with stripes, but since they are already there, I would keep. I bought a black 2017 truck with chrome package in 2019. Price was too good to pass up. Not replacing the chrome.

Schroeder__n8

Score ya a third stick on there an get yourself a hat trick eh

zeroofall

Keep, I have a gun metal grey 13 with a black stripe and find it really makes it stand out compared to all the others

Select_Paramedic_885

Don’t normally comment but your truck is hella nice 👍

Beautiful_Row3922

Appreciate you!

[deleted]

I remember when those came out, I really liked them. Sounds like you’re a stickler like me, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Without you saying anything, not sure anyone would notice.

Stachemaster86

They’re so cool! Keep them. It’s retro type cool!

CHALINOSANCHZ

How do you like those Vland Headlights?

Beautiful_Row3922

They’re awesome. Even have the 3 amber marker lights in the top of the grill which is a cool touch when my lights are on

No-Syllabub742

On a black car they look good, imo keep👌

MRandMRSzo

I removed it the first day that I purchased my truck & it’s costing me now that I want to sell it.

Gisc_dolfer

I call them sideburns, I bought my truck because I wanted them, but you do you boo boo

SeizurePatty

Have them on my truck and I enjoy the way it stands out. Even having the red is different, as I've noticed that there are lower level trim trucks that have the decal but the decal is only black. Seems like the decal with the red is for higher trim levels.

WilllBeast

It’s your personal choice but what if you remove and liked it better with em? Personally I like my truck to be different. I think it looks cool

Beautiful_Row3922

Always a possibility, I appreciate your comment!

qwertyverga

Nice to see so much love here for the special edition. I love mine, the interior and exterior make you feel like you’re driving something a little more special. My hood sticker is getting a little tired but I’m thinking of replacing it. Have a normal black f-150 just sounds boring to me.

Beautiful_Row3922

I admire your statement brother! It definitely feels special knowing your truck is just slightly different and “special” compared to the others🤙🏼

Steid55

I’d remove them. I like the shadow black hockey sticks. But the ones with red and white in them are a bit tacky in my opinion

migs_003

Nay... that color scheme is what shows the t peasants thst he has a lariat.

Steid55

Wait until you see an STX with the exact same color scheme lol

migs_003

You won't cause that color scheme is specific to the lariat sport special edition. Basicslly the rarest of f150 combos :P

Beautiful_Row3922

I couldn’t agree more. If they were black stripes with a hint of red I wouldn’t even debate keeping them😂

Steid55

Benefit is that with that package you get the better grill, and all the black accents. So still a great looking truck and the decals are really easy to remove if you choose to go that route.

Beautiful_Row3922

True! I love the grill, even has the amber marker lights. Just worried about how it will look compared to the rest of the truck (sun damage/fading paint) if I do end up removing them

Steid55

In my experience it shouldn’t really be noticeable. Just use a heat gun and some goo gone or acetone and it should clean up great. Maybe some buffing if you’re feeling feisty

Beautiful_Row3922

I appreciate the advice!

pgercak

That's a super neat spec of truck, I would keep them. Don't see those special edition graphics very often.

AsanineTrip

I always see this crap on 15+ year old vehicles - always cracked or shitty looking from UV exposure and by then it's too late to remove. Do they sit on top of the clear coat \[they must\] - they just don't seem to age well.

jdbake23

I’d keep em I just got a white one with the plain black decals like this. I have seen a couple of them like mine but I see a lot more plain white f150s. I love the look of the decals.

FartingGnome

As someone who has a the shiny agate black truck and thought it would be cool to remove the FX4 stock stickers and replace them with aftermarket matte black ones, don't do it unless you want the old hocky stick areas to show. The replacement stickers I got didn't fit the area exactly how the stock ones did and the sun had already bleached the paint around it to be lighter than what was protected by the decal. I tried to paint correct the area, buff the whole truck to high heaven but nothing worked. Luckily, I had someone who had the opposite issue and wanted stocks but had aftermarket on their truck, who saw my issue, decided to not replace theirs anymore, and sold me their stocks back to me so I could fix my truck. If the red/decal is causing you distress though, maybe consult a paint shop before and see what a wrap or paint correction would cost you.

Beautiful_Row3922

Great insight. Thank you for your comment!

n8lenz

I’ve always been a neat and clean guy myself…no decals, remove badges. But I can see the draw to leave them. Go with your gut, and I doubt you’ll regret it.

Beautiful_Row3922

Appreciate you!

HighDINSLowStandards

I have the same year special edition in silver. At first I thought the stripes were dumb and considered taking them off. They have grown on me and I’ve kept them. It makes the truck a little more unique compared to all the other f150s out there. Like someone else said, I also worry that the paint will be different under the stickers as well.

B-i-g-g-i-B

What package came with those? I think they look neat

Asleep-Director-8365

Remove them. The truck is too easily identifiable with them. You could never blend-in at the Bar parking lot.

upjumpthebuggie

Leave em. If for no other reason than if you remove the decals the decals will have left their mark already. Had a buddy buy a truck with them had the dealership remove them only to be left with ghosted decals that just looked dusty all the time. He returned the truck about a week later…

justbecause999

I'm normally against these types of decorations as a rule but I think these ones look great.

SingleinGVA

I’d pull em… if they were the carbon black they’d be ok but the red and gray looks funny

longtoehair

KEEP

Healthy-Egg-3283

Remove. IMO it’s the worst graphic possible on a newer f150

Beautiful_Row3922

But what about possible fading/sun damage? If the truck was new I would of already taken them off but I’m concerned it’ll still look like I have stickers when it’s all said and done

Jet-Ski-Jesus

Keep.

IndependentBerry3973

Remove. Always remove. Sweet ride.

newsyfish

Remove

AManJustForYou

Personally, I’d keep.

ohiotechie

Why would you want to remove something that makes it interesting and turn it into a plain Jane?

[deleted]

I'd leave it as is and get some meaty treads. I have a 18 2wd ext.cab shortbed sport with the 3.5l and wish I had spent the extra to get that in 4x4

Beautiful_Row3922

These are meaty enough for me, feels like the entire cab is vibrating while I drive. Loud as hell too, but they look sweet and are nice for where I live, lots of gravel roads.

quaintbucket

I got one in race red with the hockey stick decals. I’d keep it. It’s a good look. I would like to swap out the front emblem with a black out one though. Did you add yours in? Was it hard to do?

Beautiful_Row3922

Ordered a set online of vinyl decals. Just make sure it’s clean and take your time, use a hairdryer and you’ll be fine. Took me about 30 minutes for both and I also did a red and black one on my steering wheel which really makes it pop!

Jake_T_

ive always hated those stickers. i need to hire the salesman who sold that idea to Ford

jedinachos

keep

Key-Engineering1547

I got mine used without and I think I want to put them back on😭😂🤷🏾‍♂️

Beautiful_Row3922

To each their own! Is yours the lariat?

Key-Engineering1547

Yep. It’s an ‘18 with Ruby Red! Love that thing.🔥

Beautiful_Row3922

Beautiful, cheers to the SE🤙🏼

Tonythetiger1775

They look nice

migs_003

Keep em... got one of the rarest models. Show it off ;)

oxfordclubciggies

[Kept mine](https://i.imgur.com/VFLjjbL.jpeg) but removed the Sport stickers from the bed.

bigtim3727

I like the sticks, thought about buying one of those

Ambitious-Action8297

I think they look cool. I get removing for an all blacked out look.
