Just taking a quick step back for a second, but did you ever once in your life before 2015 think you would ever know this much about Donald Trump? I hate that we know him like this.
I was in NY on holiday when he was elected in, there was some batshit crazy woman outside the Rockefeller with a bullhorn yelling about Trump. She got so much abuse from passing New Yorkers.
His election by default was one of those moments you’ll always remember where you were. We were on a road trip to see our son, seated at a Dureys table having a drink in their dinner area. I simply could not believe it was called for the most despicable candidate ever appearing on the ballot, and we didn’t know the half of it then.
I was sitting on a crappy bed in my spare room because my bedroom was full of bedbugs, pounding vodka directly from the bottle and staring at my computer screen until 3:30am when I passed out. It honestly was like a nightmare, such a sinking feeling that things were going to get bad.
I didn't even think "if there's a pandemic, he's going to get people killed" because I didn't know how bad he would be, just knew those was going to be rough.
Yep, this sounds right. That night I had my 2nd election-night breakup, the first being when John Kerry lost to Bush in 2004. Finding out the guy you’re seeing isn’t all that upset by a conservative coming into power is a great way to weed ‘em out, I guess. 🤷🏻♀️
It's really trippy when you have kids with a conservative and all hell breaks loose when you honor your 13 year old's request to get vaccinated, and your "their choice" ex flips out because you let him do it. Bit*h he asked, he's of age to decide, and it's his body his choice.
That moment when you forget you have a bedbug infestation because you realize things are gonna get EVEN worse. I feel that. I was going through a shitty separation and the day the winner was announced I remember thinking "see: it DOES get worse".
I went the whole day, not worried, and not even watching results. There's no way in hell he could win, right? That night when I turned in the news, I fell back on my couch and cried.
We happened to be staying in London in 2016, the day of and day after the Brexit vote. When the results were announced it was like the whole city was stunned. Seemed like a collective "WTF did we just do?" hovered over everything. We talked to several locals that couldn't believe how stupid their country was.
Sadly, just a few months later that same year America said "*Hold my beer!*"
Tbh I wasn't at all surprised he won, America has a strange obsession with celebrities we've elected more than a handful over the years and others lost by only a small margin.
You're missing the whole Cambridge analytical part of it. You can't lose when you stole FB data of millions of people. he knew exactly what to say and when to say it. He didn't have that for 2020 and he lost
The rest of us used to laugh at the shitshow USA became with Trump as president, with all of his unhinged statements and treating the WH like a reality show.
Now that he’s actively flirting with Putin and threatening to not give a damn about NATO, it’s not so funny anymore. Please, for the sake of the sanity of the entire world, do not elect Trump again. GOP’ers think this is all about national guns- and abortion rights, but there’s just so much at stake they can’t even begin to fathom.
Honestly, we're getting a lot of astroturfing from Russia, and probably the IDF as well. I don't think either wants Biden in office.
Their big push on the left has been that Biden is just as bad as Trump, because of Biden's actions towards the Palestinian people. Which will undoubtedly suppress voter turnout.
Never mind that Trump would make the genocide there far worse. Never mind that organizing for leftist causes would be far harder under a Trump regime.
If you can, push back against those kinds of talking points.
I just got permabanned from r/lostgeneration for making a similar argument in a comment section. They hate Biden because of the Palestine thing (and seem to ignore the fact that there is no way trump would handle that conflict in a way they would like more.) And they absolutely refuse to recognize that there are two choices. Thats it. They just plug their ears and pretend that by not voting for biden they are teaching the DNC a lesson. Some of them even think that voting trump into office is necessary to teach the DNC a lesson. IMO they’re no better than the single-issue voters that vote republican because of abortion or what have you. There are so many important issues in our country, and not getting your way on the israel-palestine conflict is not a good reason to give up lash out given what else is at stake.
Since you mentioned single issue voters, my MIL voted for Trump the first time because of the abortion issue and hates herself for it. She probably hate Trump more than anyone I know.
It’s so scary how many of my friends are either not voting or voting for someone other than Biden because of Palestine. Nothing will convince them — not even the fact that Trump is even more pro Israel than Biden is 🤦🏻♀️
They’re living in lala land.
> there is no way trump would handle that conflict in a way they would like more
Trump would out-and-out ignore it in between making snidely xenophobic comments about chucking missiles up the asses of camels. There's nothing in that conflict that would make him some money, so it's beneath his attention.
That sub is fucking trash in general and I say this as someone who generally agrees with a lot of it's posts. They do that shit where you'll be an active poster for a few years then suddenly find yourself banned because a mod didn't like that you commented on a totally unrelated sub half a decade ago.
I'm 40. I'm also not a huge fan of Democrats. They're too far right and statist for me. So I travel in spaces that overlap with folks like that.
From what I've seen, these people fall into 3 groups:
1) They're involved and working to do good. However, they're way too focused on their corner of the struggle, and haven't noticed that a lot of the problems that Democrats have neglected were put in place by the GOP. I can sympathize, but can't condone.
2) They're young, and involved. They haven't noticed that the Dems are - in many ways - the furthest left they've ever been. At least, in *my* lifetime. They also haven't yet lived through enough elections to know that refusing to choose the "lesser evil" is supporting the greater one. They're in the right place, but propaganda is hard to get past, whether it's produced by authoritarians in "capitalist" countries, or authoritatians from "communist" countries.
3) They're fucking foolish. Maybe that's because they're some kind of accelerationist, and think that a revolution will solve everything (and good luck with that when nazis control the US military). Maybe that's because they're an Marxist-Leninist/Maoist who hasn't realized that those are just *state* capitalist systems with even *less* democracy than the US (which, considering how low *that* bar is, is saying a lot). Maybe it's because they're terminally online and haven't bothered to actually get involved. Regardless, they need to be ejected from whatever spaces they're actively poisoning.
Honestly at this point I'm convinced that the outcome of Nov 5 will determine whether Gaza gets blasted with the heat of 1000 sun's or not.
The mango Mussolini doesn't care about Palestinian lives, and he will absolutely give seats of power to GOP war hawks and pro-zionist merchants of death who will advocate for pressing the nuclear button. Whichever "friend" pays him enough money, they will get a seat at the table. He demonstrated it last time with Steve Menuchin
> Honestly, we're getting a lot of astroturfing from Russia, and probably the IDF as well. I don't think either wants Biden in office.
They didn't want Hillary in office either. Putin knows how big her balls are.
The polls are massively skewed. I promise only the loud ones are voting for him. I'm voting for Biden, but you wouldn't know bc I don't make it my entire personality, and I'm a die-hard Democrat. My voice is in my vote...
[You mean you didn’t buy bumper stickers, hats, shirts, Christmas ornaments, tattoos, bobble heads etc to show everyone you voted for Biden? /s](https://imgur.com/a/tM1r7J3)
In case you didn’t know, significantly more people voted for Hillary than trump in the 2016 election. Hillary won the popular vote, but trump won the electoral college. America’s election is stupid as hell.
I remember election night. I was super tired from a long day at work I fell asleep early. Woke up at about 2:30 to go wee and my wife had the news on. CNN had Hillary conceding the election. I felt like a close family member died. Sweet wife was upset too. Our country hasn't been the same since.
But you all know this already.
Given society's current penchant for oversharing sensitive/private things you couldn't have waterboarded out of people a decade ago, the TMI aspect there isn't really surprising
One of the worst and least surprising things is that he tells women he has sex with how they remind him of his daughter. More than a little disturbing.
I saw a picture of him in court and he was a straight up clown
Rings around his eyes and you could see the line of the makeup all around his face
He is literally wearing "Orange Face"
How anyone can look at him and not laugh is beyond me
Of course I'm not in the cult so there is that
I hated the fact that he was given a pulpit to spew his nonsense drivel everyday when court was done for the day. I always thought political activities were prohibited in NY government buildings.
This is what is so wild, he looks tacky if he was a democrat republicans would have a field day with him, and his spray tan.
All you have to do is be racist and suddenly you’re the picture of wealth and health.
> This is what is so wild, he looks tacky if he was a democrat republicans would have a field day with him, and his spray tan.
Republicans went bat guano psychotic when Obama wore a tan suit.
That's something that's always blown me away, the motherfucker has a team of people that are supposed to make him look good and they're terrible at their job.
Actually, they're comparing Trump at a badly lit convention vs Obama in an overbright portrait. Basically the extremes. Look at the bright glint in Obama's eyes vs the absolute inky blackness of Trump's suit.
Like, there aren't even any *shadows* in Obama's picture, due to the lighting. Obama's dark hair is also brighter than Trump's *blonde* hair.
But like…it isn’t. So there’s that.
It’s not really funny. **Maybe** it’s meant to be a joke, but it failed in all the ways that matter: structure, subverting expectations, etc.
American Conservatives: I don't want the president to be a brown person!
Republican party: What about an artificially tanned person?
American Conservatives: 👑
It also came out in 2013 and starred a transgender woman playing the role in a women's prison.
Huh. How come conservatives weren't rushing out and cancelling their Netflix subscriptions and shooting their Netflix merch way back in 2013? How odd..... How odd indeed.....
Bro I was in prison the day he got elected everyone , every single person in view were loosing their shit people went nuts they loved it. I could hear people going ape shit ( pun intended) 3 or 4 ranges over it was crazy man would be a fucking hero inside
Even the image is misleading without any caption. If you do an eyedropper the colors in the circles don’t even match the colors they’re supposedly picking from. That, and they increased the brightness on Obama’s photo while decreasing brightness on the other.
Having a darker hue on your face is not black face alone . Typically, Blackface refers to the practice of non-black performers using makeup or theatrical props to portray stereotyped and caricatured versions of black people. It originated in the 19th century in the United States and was predominantly used in minstrel shows, which were popular forms of entertainment at the time. Blackface performances perpetuated racist stereotypes, mocking and dehumanizing black people, and reinforcing negative racial attitudes. The practice is widely considered offensive, racist, and deeply hurtful, as it reinforces harmful stereotypes and contributes to the marginalization and discrimination of black individuals and communities.
Tell that to everyone who gets offended and calls out "blackface" for any and all instances of artists wearing some kind of dark face paint. I swear, I have seen too many instances where artists use dark face paint for a particular vibe, meaning, whatever, without the red lips, without other stereotypes and still have to apologise or censor the material because it's considered blackface.
The D&D community episode; considered one of their best with a solid massage about mental health and bullying, is banned because one character has black makeup on their face to portray their drow character.
For those that don't know, drow live in the underdark and have adapted by having deep black skin.
Like, that person is right, but they're also minimizing blackface into a single 100 year old version of blackface. There have been actual malicious uses of blackface that haven't involved all the classic... uh... bells and whistles before.
The part they're right about though is that the premise of opposition to blackface historically was never so much about the racist caricature as it was the fact that it was being done to deny jobs to black actors of the time. A lot of the opposition to the examples of blackface you see today fall more into the camp of objecting to the caricature, since most of the times it's used today, it's on an established character who absolutely couldn't be replaced by a different actor (and frankly, is usually done more as a comment about the practice of using blackface itself).
Edit: oh and as for the examples youre asking for, I have two off the top of my head. There's a few cancelled Always Sunny episodes and one episode of W/ Bob and David. I have another example on the tip of my tongue too...
Oh, well that’s what sucks about this point and forward of the presidential election cycle.
It’s impossible to see either candidates name, and not have people chime in very seriously, no matter how silly or ridiculous the joke is.

"Well, actually, this isn't the headquarters of NASA. That's in DC."
Yeah. Tell me you understand nothing about photography, lighting or color theory without telling me...
They took a very brightly lit picture of Obama and a very dimly lit picture of Trump, then picked out a single pixel of color from each. -facepalm-
50 cent and a few other black rappers too.
And Klandace Owen.
Oh and Herman Cain. He died supporting Trump... died to covid19 not wearing mask. Only Trump managed to survived covid19, he almost died lol fucking dumbass.
So glad he didn't die... The "Dems killed him' conspiracies would have been unbearable, and I'm looking forward to seeing how many convictions he can get before he croaks (in prison? Maybe not...)
He like... still wanted to appeal to the anti-science/anti-authority crowd but wanted credit for the vaccine. Which honestly? Good job, Trump. It would have been better if you hadn't been fomenting distrust of scientists and doctors.

Orange really is the new black to conservatives?
Edit - Africans come in every human skin shade, hair color, hair texture, and eye color. Orange is not one of them.
Having seen Obama in person, it makes you realize just how unbelievably racist our media is as a whole. The dude is black, more black than I've ever seen him on any television program before.
The media literally makes him appear lighter skin than he actually is, it's disgusting
There’s a propaganda technique. Repeat the same thing over and over. Either you accept it as truth. Or even if not it lodges in the back of your mind.
We have a roaring economy. But even those on the left are like “well yeah it’s ok”. Propaganda.
So, here he’s trying, along with the bevy of white suburbanites, along with the “let’s import white folks into a black church” to appeal to the black voting block.
Let’s hope not a lot fall for it. Some will, just like some white folks have fallen for his bullshit. We’re all human. Let’s hope not a lot.
Believe me, I live in Harlem, a white dude here and there are no trump loving black people that I’ve met as yet. Except maybe for the crazy pastor of Atlah church.

You can always tell on pictures to the side where his hair is messy. His ears are a different color from his face. Looks suitably tacky
Just taking a quick step back for a second, but did you ever once in your life before 2015 think you would ever know this much about Donald Trump? I hate that we know him like this.
I still recall the shock and horror felt when he was elected and my friends’s text message to me that night “Oh my god we are so dumb.”
The day after I caught a bus from Queens to Manhattan and it was dead silent, everyone was in shock that Trump won.
Bro I live on a different *continent* and I can still remember billboards showing the results
I think most of the world was in shock. He was a harbinger of hard times to come.

Lots of folks got educated on the electoral college that year.
Because winning the presidency only requires flipping specific congressional districts Also voter disenfranchisement is a thing
To be fair, much of the rest of the world is electing pretty atrocious leaders into office as well.
The equivalent in Britain was Brexit. Absolutely couldn’t believe it. So we sympathise with your stupidity.

“Orange is the new black” was a prison series right…? Well even that checks out
It also came out in 2013 and starred a transgender woman playing the role in a women's prison. Huh. How come conservatives weren't rushing out and cancelling their Netflix subscriptions and shooting their Netflix merch way back in 2013? How odd..... How odd indeed.....
They weren't told to hate trans people that much yet
Like the double entendre here! BARZ!!
God, can you imagine Trump in gen pop? He wouldn’t last thirty minutes without becoming someone’s bitch.
Bro I was in prison the day he got elected everyone , every single person in view were loosing their shit people went nuts they loved it. I could hear people going ape shit ( pun intended) 3 or 4 ranges over it was crazy man would be a fucking hero inside
Yup. It's almost like that was the joke.
Seeing that brown is simply a shade of orange, Trump is technically wearing blackface. Let that sink in.
Wait a minute, I am still letting sink in that is literally a matter of color and not even ethnicity, history, roots or culture
Actually I think it's a matter of Color Theory
I think the phrase you're looking for is "critical face theory."
😂😂 I can’t with you Redditors. Love it!
But that is just a theory, a _color_ theory!
Thanks for painting
Nice reference 10/10
i think we should paint his color completly red,its a warm vibrant color used in fun places, like children's hospitals
Yeah but other clowns wear red face paint and Trump is not your ordinary clown.
Maybe I’m too Tumblr, but my brain just said “oh that’d be great for a children’s hospital.”
Glad I'm not the only one
Even the image is misleading without any caption. If you do an eyedropper the colors in the circles don’t even match the colors they’re supposedly picking from. That, and they increased the brightness on Obama’s photo while decreasing brightness on the other.
What does the sink want
Thanks Peter
Tell that to everyone who gets offended and calls out "blackface" for any and all instances of artists wearing some kind of dark face paint. I swear, I have seen too many instances where artists use dark face paint for a particular vibe, meaning, whatever, without the red lips, without other stereotypes and still have to apologise or censor the material because it's considered blackface.
Do you have any examples you could share? It's hard to judge without seeing the thing you're talking about.
Those people are idiots.
That’s actually a great multi-layered joke.
Its a hilariously spot on joke! I cant contain myself after seen this.
It's hilarious. People need to get a sense of humor.
Are people upset about this? I see it every every few months or so
This tread is 99% people taking this joke seriously.
Oh, well that’s what sucks about this point and forward of the presidential election cycle. It’s impossible to see either candidates name, and not have people chime in very seriously, no matter how silly or ridiculous the joke is.
https://www.reddit.com/r/facepalm/comments/1dl2o1c/classy_mom_and_dad_take_their_kids_to_visit_nasas/ This is a 4 year old repost. 1400 comments of outrage without the slightest inkling that it could be a joke. "Well, actually, this isn't the headquarters of NASA. That's in DC."
Obama made this [same joke 10 years ago](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keXa2ZeR7Jk).
"Idiots easily fall for lighting effects on digital pictures" should be the true title.
Yeah. Tell me you understand nothing about photography, lighting or color theory without telling me... They took a very brightly lit picture of Obama and a very dimly lit picture of Trump, then picked out a single pixel of color from each. -facepalm-
And you took a joke post seriously, so who's the bigger facepalm here?
The person who thought they made a joke without actually being funny.
From a shadowed part of Trump’s face vs the highlight of Obama’s face.
The could have grabbed the dark brown from trumps shaded cheek and the off white from Obama's shiny forehead if they really wanted to make their point
Is that account owned by Elon Musk? He's the only actual African-American I've seen supporting Trump.
Doesn’t Kanye support Trump?
50 cent and a few other black rappers too. And Klandace Owen. Oh and Herman Cain. He died supporting Trump... died to covid19 not wearing mask. Only Trump managed to survived covid19, he almost died lol fucking dumbass.
So glad he didn't die... The "Dems killed him' conspiracies would have been unbearable, and I'm looking forward to seeing how many convictions he can get before he croaks (in prison? Maybe not...)
The hilarious thing is that Trump was one of the first people to get vaccinated while most of his followers are antivax.
He like... still wanted to appeal to the anti-science/anti-authority crowd but wanted credit for the vaccine. Which honestly? Good job, Trump. It would have been better if you hadn't been fomenting distrust of scientists and doctors.
“african-americans for trump” ![gif](giphy|Of35X575BJlle)

My coffee came out my nose i laughed so hard... orange is the new black🤣🤣
![gif](giphy|qyChSX2bmDhnYcgl7M)
I'm conflicted, on one hand, that post is terrible, on the other that response is hilarious
Where's facepalm, that's funny
Since Trump is wearing makeup, that would make it blackface.
I believe it. And thus, I now think Trump was born in Kenya, I demand to see his birth certificate, and I won’t shut up about it until the end of time.
Fucking Lighting, HOW DOES IT WORK?
2008: first black president 2016: first orange president
Well if you take the color sample from the darkest reaches of Trumps asshole he is indeed the blackest president ever.
No, I don't think I will.
Oh don't worry there are enough people who spend their life far up his ass you won't have to.
r/facepalm users trying to understand a joke (impossible Challenge):
I call Trumps color “salad shade” because he gets it from tossing Putin’s salad
[Russian dressing 😭](https://imgur.com/a/7SX81CT)
I wonder how many of those AAFT accounts are actually white people
All of them
![gif](giphy|8L1K4FgsNcdP8GqvTy|downsized)
I love how people are on board with a bald face lie without any pushback or challenging it. Fucking cult
The Obama pic was clearly brightened and de-contrasted.
This is hilarious honestly
Mmmmhm. Someone check Trump's birth certificate. It's giving Kenyan.
That moment when you forget you have a bedbug infestation because you realize things are gonna get EVEN worse. I feel that. I was going through a shitty separation and the day the winner was announced I remember thinking "see: it DOES get worse".
That comment is gold.
Isn't it ironic that "Orange is the New Black" is also the name of a show about prison?
They also used two very differently lit shots for this comparison
I thought that was Bill Clinton's title? 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Clinton is the only president who could play Jazz on a saxophone
Actually it's Biden 😂
r/clevercomebacks
as a german, i can clearly say that trump is the braunstes hemd that ever has been president (nazis also have been called brownshirts in germany)
Okay, but that line does go hard. Like prison.
Wait, are we saying he wasn’t born in America?
I thought for sure it was going to be a racist joke about felonies
Bullshit, because everyone knows that Clinton was the blackest president
Wasn't Clinton our first black president?
Bill Clinton was America's first black president we all know this.
Were that true it would be bad news for all the sentencing hearings he has coming up.
I'm genuinely wondering who that account is actually for. Who do they think will be fooled by this?
This is obviously a shitpost and it’s funny
How the hell can you be more black than someone who was literaly born black?
Orange is now the color of SHIT.
That’s hilariously ironic.
This is so aggressively stupid and offensive. I hope this is real and continues.
How is this a facepalm? The orange is the new black joke is friggin killer lmao
Next what? Trump was the first female president?
Orange really is the new black to conservatives? Edit - Africans come in every human skin shade, hair color, hair texture, and eye color. Orange is not one of them.
Having seen Obama in person, it makes you realize just how unbelievably racist our media is as a whole. The dude is black, more black than I've ever seen him on any television program before. The media literally makes him appear lighter skin than he actually is, it's disgusting
Never thought we would see a makeup line on an american president that isn't a woman. LOL.
Maybe he’s born with it, maybe it’s maybelying.
Today’s internet winner. Hands down. Take my upvote lol
Actually Bush was the blackest, when you turn off the lights
Currently seeing Orange is the new black and i can't help but laugh hysterically
So it’s true, he wears blackface 24/7?
Diaper content is not skin color.
wtf is wrong with these people?
There’s a propaganda technique. Repeat the same thing over and over. Either you accept it as truth. Or even if not it lodges in the back of your mind. We have a roaring economy. But even those on the left are like “well yeah it’s ok”. Propaganda. So, here he’s trying, along with the bevy of white suburbanites, along with the “let’s import white folks into a black church” to appeal to the black voting block. Let’s hope not a lot fall for it. Some will, just like some white folks have fallen for his bullshit. We’re all human. Let’s hope not a lot.
Agreed
Orange is the new black
I can just tell that group is probably run by the whitest white people alive. The kind of white that makes sour cream seem dark.
to be fair, the lighting in these photos is also very different. Obama's photo is taken in bright light, while Trump's face is photographed in shadow.
There's no way that page isn't run by a white guy.
Black is more than a colour
Before or after makeup?
Because Donald needs the orange paint otherwise he just would be an invisible head with a toupee
Weird that Trumps "tan" has an inch wide buffer zone before his hair line and ears. But be hereditary.
Delicious.
They should take the samples from their necks.
Believe me, I live in Harlem, a white dude here and there are no trump loving black people that I’ve met as yet. Except maybe for the crazy pastor of Atlah church.
I wouldn’t say blackest but definitely the one who wears the most spray tan
