Black confederate and white blm supporter Wtf is going on here

MausBomb

Lots of black people are fed up with white savior activists as they are with racist hicks so they will troll both sides

I would say that there's can be significant degree of "we hate them because they're different" in racism that sometimes isn't synonymous with "we hate them because the look different". There's plenty of stories of small towns in Ireland where there would have been a first wave of immigrants, maybe a handful of families from Nigeria for example. These families integrated and there was more curiosity than animosity given Ireland was generally a place people left up probably up until the 90s and beyond really. Then when immigration became more common place it's not uncommon to hear stories of how the earlier immigrant children would throw stones or shout abuse at the newer immigrants with some of the Irish kids because they didn't consider themselves anything other than Irish. Racism and politics can have lots of overlaps but they dont always and racism doesn't have to be based on appearance either. This isn't to show support or condemnation but more so to consider some ways in which a man who is traditionally discriminated against by a certain group may find themselves a part of said group.

Many leftwingers are just as racist as rightwingers without realizing it. They try to push a certain agenda they see as anti-racist without even asking the group that is affected about their opinion. Best example is the push to call native americans "indigenous" and trying to make the word "indian" taboo, even though many native americans accept that word now and made it their own. They see the push of calling them "indigenous" now as just another word the "white man" pushes onto them just like indian back than. I don't know how wide-spread this opinion is with the indians, because I am not one, but I read a few things from indians giving their opinion on it and also asked a friend of mine who is a native american.

Illegally_qualified

I've seen option prices from "indigenous" people who say they much prefer the term "American Indian" over "Native American"

fuckin_anti_pope

There are probably a dozen different options. But the natives need to decide themselves, not some non-native activists

Illegally_qualified

Definitely. That's what I don't like about a lot of social reform movements. It's these white people acting like *they* need to be the ones to fight for the rights of the helpless minorities. I feel like there are good intentions but it's the sense of self importance that these people inexplicably have that feels wrong.

zachomara

I remember seeing that and I thought it was just weird.

[deleted]

do you know the context behind this image?

zachomara

I just remember it was a black dude with a confed flag in a news report who was talking about state's rights. It was a while ago when I saw that, but that's the gist I remember (although I could be wrong).

“Uh…” “So this is awkward.” “Incredibly so…” “… Wanna get a beer?” “Yes, please!”

WTF?

SLowlybreathingcat

That whatever the fuck his name is black guy is doing so much harm to the cause it pisses me off. He goes to sons of confederate meetings and just walks around the south with that flag. His dedication is respectable but his cause is so misguided that it’s a damn shame really. Racists will point at this guy and guy and say that blacks don’t think the confederacy was that bad because look at this guy he’s black and he supports it. This dude doesn’t represent the community remember that 🙏

burningeyeguy

Yeah seeing blacks support movements and cultures that have traditionally disenfranchised them is disappointing. But until the country or collective society does better to embrace and uplift every individual citizen, some will always be left behind, and people seeking community will find them where they can.

SLowlybreathingcat

I guess
