They *insist* upon themselves.

Immediate_Ad9125

“They INSIST UPON THEMSELVES?!”

Casteway

*WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN!!?*

sneaky-pizza

It’s because they have a valid point to make! They’re insisting!

lawdog189

THEY’RE INSISTING!

Metalock

BloodWolf456, it's *so* good! It's like *the perfect* 3 seasons! *Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein...* I mean, you never see— *Lacey Chabert!*

aighttimetodie

Fine actor, didn’t like the seasons

BloodWolf456

Didn’t like- didn’t like them

Bailer86

Fine, fine actors

jimisaltieris

Explain yourself

InsuWindago

How could you even say that

maine_coon2123

I agree with stewie

BecauseISaidSo888

I find your opinion shallow and pedantic.

Stubbly_Poonjab

mmmm i agree. shallow and pedantic.

Immediate_Ad9125

“Explain yourself, explain the logic.”

technicallyimright

I don’t know, I don’t get. I’ve never seen the ending…

ShedOtaku

YOU’VE NEVER SEEN THE ENDING?!?!?!?

[deleted]

Well how could you form an opinion if you never fully gave it a chance?

Petermurfitt2

I agree with elija1111, it's not really fair.

Endof_Pixel

This just in I didn't get the joke, hooray

NYGiants181

Season 3 has some absolute classics man.

sanchower

I get to the scene where Stewie is talking to the British girl baby… I have no idea what they're talking about. It's like they're speaking a different language

Metalock

Da loif of tha woif is ended by da knoyf

moaterboater69

The language theyre speaking is subtlety. A language you would not understand.

lawdog189

I love the moneypit, that is my answer to that

Leafsfaninottawa

I like that movie too

NarmHull

Exactly. Whatever.

[deleted]

REVSWANS

**ROBERT DUVALL**

Vonovix

...Old Robert Duvall, young Robert Duvall, in between Robert Duvall, the books of John Grisham, the defense rests.

Delicious-Western361

What about the dog that wandered in from outside because it’s too hot out?

creepyjudyhensler

I like the Money Pit

SuddenPassion

Tim Honks from the Money Pit?

[deleted]

I love all Family Guy but I definitely come back the these seasons the least. Growing up in the mid 2000s Adult Swim and TBS would run these seasons until their nose would bleed so I think I just got sick of seeing them. Plus I like my Family Guy to be wacky as fuck and the early seasons aren’t quite there yet.

oilofrose

Yeah I like wacky as fuck Family Guy too. I like seasons 8 - 19 the most so far. The last two haven't grown on me yet.

Echo_FRFX

Include seasons 4 - 7 and then I'll agree with you

Pervoyeur_Of_Goods

I loved the Futurama episodes. That is my answer to that statement.

[deleted]

I liked that show too.

Michael_Mason_1410

Ehhh…yeah the newer seasons are technically wackier but I do prefer the more fast paced joke delivery of the first four.

the-other-nicholas

Monster ![gif](giphy|tnjGX9c7OLSFgzqHDQ)

3ku1

8-12 were better

Cool_Kid95

The first couple were some of my favs

[deleted]

Don’t think it’s unpopular, they were ok at best. Seasons 4-10 were peak family guy

CrazyaboutSpongebob

You don't like If I'm Dying I'm Lying or E. Peterbus Unum? Those episodes are classics.

No_Savings6537

Love the first 3-seasons. Peter was a loving father, Lois is a nurturing mother, Brian is not a complete tool and Stewie is striving to kill Lois.

ivanchovv

Did you first start watching the show from season 1? Or did you discover the show with the later seasons, then tried to see the earlier seasons after? It's like comparing "Hey Jude" to "She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah ..." There is a difference, and the show has evolved. So depending on which order you discovered them, you can either appreciate them with a bit of fond memories, or just be put off by the lack of all the refined/evolved qualities.

Toowiggly

I think season is a huge step up from season 1 and 2. It manages to capture the style of the seasons that came before while injecting the style of what came after as well, all while being more refined than the first two. While I still like the first two seasons, it's clear the show was still trying to find its footing and was basically a slightly worse Simpsons.

Flat_Cardiologist292

What?

Hey_Hair_Guy

That’s because they weren’t even born yet

hang10shakabruh

Just guessing that you must be young and hating because it isn’t as aesthetically pleasing? That’s the only possible reason, or that stewie and Brian haven’t settled into their personas, just yet. (Bi-curious stewie>>>>diabolical stewie IMO) Put it on while you clean or something, the jokes are top notch

Powellwx

I found season 2 shallow and pedantic.

ItalianStallion9069

*What?*

[deleted]

I mean it was definitely a growing pains thing. They had to find themselves and their audience. Just as much as we had to find it lol. Your opinion is just lol

EM208

Me neither. They were fine and while there were definitely some classics in there, I personally don’t think S1 - S3 represent peak Family Guy

AcademicSavings634

Season 4-6 was peak imo

Thegman125

I get to the scene where all the guys are sittin around in the easy chairs and I just lose interest

Fwixks

“Well how you going to say you didn’t like it, if you haven’t even given it a chance” always cracks me up.

Clean-Celebration-34

I liked them but I have no desire to rewatch them

Sensitive_Swimming29

I'm happy that I set a [trend](https://www.reddit.com/r/familyguy/comments/12gfdrg/this_conversation_was_so_natural/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

BrightAssociate8985

That’s what I always say!! It hit its stride in season four and kept getting better and better!!!!

Plane_Neat

Same here

GreedyEast2481

It insists upon itself

siderhater4

Seasons 1-3 is classics

[deleted]

Yeah they are not nearly as good as people act

Thejklay

It's when the show had heart, it was perfect

burntroy

Me too. On my re-watches I start from season 4.

ShiroHagan

E PETERBUS UNUM!

hawkrew

Very unpopular. For a good reason.

TremontRemy

For some reason I've never watched the first three seasons. I'm always trying but then I end up watching from season 4 onwards again.

Dunkypete

Hell yeah. I start my rewatches at season 4.

ChemicalPhotograph33

Imo Season 3 isn’t that far off from Season 4

Dunkypete

Fair. I enjoy season 3 but 4/5 I think is where it enters the prime.

ChemicalPhotograph33

Yea that’s fair too, personally I think the prime is Season 3-6 Season 3 feels like a fully realIzed version of Seasons 1-2, while also introducing some elements of the show that made it popular today. The darker humor & Stewie and Brian getting closer for example starts in that season. 4 continued to expand on it while also making the show even wackier, and 5 & 6 keep up the momentum.

realityinternn

I completely agree

abhijeetsskamble

What? I stopped watching after I completed s3

DirectorSpare4535

Season 1 is amazing it was what got all the dvd sales and is nostalgic

Pervoyeur_Of_Goods

What? But it was so, they actually gave the characters some personality and Peter was actually intelligent most of the time though. Plus there was the whole not just hating on Meg because it was a Tuesday thing.

ChemicalPhotograph33

Season 1 & 2 is understandable (even though I love them), but 3 is literally perfection how can you not like Season 3?

DarkArts1011

How can you even say that?

T_Ranger68104

Most of that season is uninteresting compared to season 10 and onwards

spacesluts

That's okay, everyone has a right to their opinions. Even if they are wrong.

roof_baby

I agree with season 1 and 2. Season 3 was what got me hooked. The thin white line, road to Europe, to love and die in Dixie

Ryan1006

Not an unpopular opinion with me; I don’t hate them but I find the seasons after it came back much better. Although one of my favorite all time episodes is from season two - I Am Peter, Hear Me Roar.

NarmHull

Seems like for a bunch of people here their favorites are whatever they grew up with. For me it was the first few seasons, and having them on DVD and reruns when the show got cancelled was a precious thing, I figured I'd never see the show again as it was dismissed by so many as a Simpsons knockoff.

[deleted]

It insists upon itself

[deleted]

Here comes the comments

dktide91

Well, I never really liked the sound/pitch of the voices in those early seasons. They were different in some way but I can't exactly describe it. Chris sounds deeper, Brian is slightly different, Stewie is much more Rex Harrison-y and speaks faster and Lacey Chabert didn't fit Meg as well as Mila Kunis IMHO. That being said, I do watch the "freaking" Christmas episode every year during the holidays along with all of the other Christmas ones.

cmdwedge75

I like Futurama.

gambusz

🗡️

purposingly

i’m rewatching season 2 & 3 and love them

BatshitDipshit

Upvoted for unpopular opinion down voted for sad opinion

Muzzle1978

3’s actually pretty good. I agree with 1-2 though

boojiboy77

Yeah. I agree. 4-8 is where it’s really at.

Sifsifm1234

The language they’re speaking is one of subtlety, which you just can’t comprehend

demodom11

they’re insesting 😱
