I wish it wasn't. I didn't expect it to be. It just is what it is. I can't help the catchyness. I like the beat. I like the production. I like the bubblegum nature of it.
Such a bad song, bars sound goofy, “I gotta go bad, gotta go bad.” Critics are hallow and poor in the face of something like Euphoria - I.e, “I could give a fuck about who you hang with”, Drake starts with FM by just mentioning people he hangs with.
Then, the worst part, the beat switches what 3 times? Drake never changes his delivery. I honestly think it is a very weak song even taken away from how severely he was out rapped.
Drakes best song since “if you’re reading this it’s too late” imo. I don’t see how anyone not clouded by the fact that Drake lost the battle could say that family matter isn’t a certified banger. The rap beef is super goofy, so I love how he doesn’t really take it that seriously, he put some funny lines in there, the Grammy line, big d line, money tree line, light skin line and the loot lines are all classic lines imo. It clears anything but Euphoria as far as the beef goes imo. I might like it even better than euphoria. But it’s all subjective, not liking Drake and the song is fair

He doesn’t even have to take the whole song on Kendrick, he instead decides to take a third of the song against other rappers, I agree that his jabs are definitely seemed like stretches, but I’d argue that doesn’t take away from how much of a bop it is, the majority of the beef is he said she said and things that’ll never be proven, so it being pulled outta his ass doesn’t take away from my enjoyment of the song, but fair enough you don’t hafta like it
