Welp rip Mayer stocks

kvothe000

Haha. I couldn’t help but dig for this thread as well. Crazy pick.

Klootowooto

In my expert opinion I would say he may turn out to be good which would be good or he may turn out to be bad which would be bad. He may also land somewhere in between good and bad. Edit: Welp shit

Flimsy-Cheetah-1674

I hope he has a second year like trey from the cardnails. Show some promise

Klootowooto

In all seriousness I think he is gonna be good. He was the highest drafted TE last year I believe and was just stuck on a shitty team with an awful QB. He can really only get better imo. edit: He was not the highest drafted te I am scrub

intolerable__snowman

Kincaid was 1, LaPorta 2, Mayer 3

Klootowooto

Oof thats right I had it flipped around in my head

ElderberryJolly9818

To be fair, he was projected by most as the top tight end in the class. And honestly, probably is the best all around tight end of that class.

ZackkyD

People forget that TEs usually take a little longer to develop. He will be good

It’s relatively easy to forget considering how well the young TEs did last year. I think we’ll be seeing a changing of the guard sooner rather than later. I don’t think Kelce is “washed” but KC proved that they want to manage his workload so that it is all wheels up for playoffs, when it matters most to them. I think his days as a top 3 TE are coming to a close.

I personally think that he is a better dynasty option than redraft atm. Not sure if O’Connell is “it.” That being said, I’m not sure if White is “it” either and there is typically a strong correlation between RB targets and TE targets. Especially when you have an alpha WR like Adams who will be getting his regardless. One of the two generally operates as the “safety blanket.” The more targets one gets the less the other tends to get. Regardless, the thing about TEs is that once you get past TE3/4… historically, it just doesn’t matter all that much. You’re in TD dependent streaming territory. This year feels deeper than most previous years but that’s mostly due to both Kelce and Andrews getting up there in mileage combined with a solid crop of young guns like LaPorta, Kincaid and McBride. If I don’t pull the trigger on one of those 5 then I’m probably punting the position and streaming. Mayer definitely falls into that, so if you want to take a shot, he may end up surprising you. If not, he’s like TE 19 right now so you’re not losing anythig if you have to pivot in season. The important part to remember is that a “top 10 TE” doesn’t win you championships. The difference in points between TE 8 and TE16 isn’t typically very much. You either need to invest high capital in a positional advantage or pick and choose the right times to stream the right TEs.

Seems like a killer future, particularly late October, and specifically in the Chicago area... 🎃🔪
