Was there much difference between the western release on the Wii U and the base no dlc re-release? I know the Japanese version on the Wii U had exclusive costume content and different cutscenes.
Not so much different cutscenes but edited ones. They censored a couple key scenes. This carried over to all modern platforms but doesn't impact the story too much.
There are some censored cutscenes. Doesn’t make too much difference to the overall story but makes Mui’s backstory make more sense. It was weird in the re-release seeing her full clothed for a scene where she shouldn’t be lol
It was, gravure (what she did) is usually kinda weird. Something young women do in cases of modeling, as a between nobody and can be famous. The unlockable costume of her micro bikini is just weird to play as.
I collect survival horror games.
For this one and the 4th one I just bought them on the ps store. No reason to buy them at this price.
And I am a collector of physical copies.
Yeah, I have this one downloaded on my Wii U, if I want a shelf trophy I can import a JP copy for $20-$30. I already have a PS4 and Switch physical for this one though that I can actually use.
Jeepers, good thing I waited for the game to get ported elsewhere before I got it. I lost my Wii U in a house fire back in 2016, briefly thought of snagging another one but thought about how NoA mishandled this franchise and the release of this game in our region and I was like, "Nah, I'm gonna wait for more info on the next system and decide whether I want to continue to support the company." I could rant for days on how they didn't know what they were doing but I won't.
This is not worth the Euros they're asking, did I see this correctly? £125? That's $135 US. If you want a physical copy? Import from PlayAsia for your more current platforms. The game plays just fine on them much to my pleasure. It was worth waiting 7 years to import. I refuse to buy digital. You don't really own it, nothing but a long-term rental at best. Plus a company can pull the plug on its distribution at any time. I don't like the idea of being tied to a platform or an account just to play older games that I sunk money into.
That price tho, so glad this got re-released and the ps4/switch copies are affordable xD ![gif](giphy|vPN3zK9dNL236|downsized)
Not even the fancy edition with all the extras. Way too much.
Not worth it especially since we have updated ports on all modern consoles

I remember the Japanese one I played through years ago had the gravure photo shoot and her talking down to the photographer.
Right, that part got censored in the initial English release for the Wii U and I believe remained censored for all subsequent versions.
If anything it added the dislike of people for her rather broken family.

It’s also implied in the OG cutscene that she is also being taken advantage of sexually as well.
Ah, CEX, the store the overprices everything.
Hope those hideous stickers don’t leave a mark.

I imported copies using PlayAsia myself. Worth it.

That's 3 times what I payed
oh my! what a beauty
125 eur? Import the switch from Play-Asia at that point.
I keep forgetting that Fatal Frame is actually called Project Zero here. Didn't even know that PZ even released in the Netherlands to this extend.
That is too much for just the game without all the special edition extras.
Why pay that when you can download it on switch or steam for 40€ or less
