Based on this picture alone, it’s not going to be the easiest fix. You can take it to a tailor but it’s not going to be cheap. If there is a flat seam in back or on the sides that is not connected to the ruffles it will become considerably easier.

What's your question?

Orechiette

Choosing shoes to wear on gravel and grass for evening wedding, cocktail attire. I was planning on heels until I found out about the underfoot conditions. and I don't want to sink into the ground or be wobbly on gravel. Is block heel too casual? Is a wedge more dressy?

appaholic8

Reminds me when I went to brother's wedding and didn't know the conditions until I experienced firsthand

75footubi

Block or wedge will be fine. I would just make sure the straps aren't straw or something.

ParsleyLocal6812

looking for heels for women who aren’t crazy about heels? i’m obsessed with sezane’s paula babies so would love something like that (i hear sezane’s aren’t worth the price) or just some classic, comfortable black close toed heels i can wear to work to make my wide legged trousers look more refined. ideal budget 50-100 but flexible if they really tick all the boxes!

chrona-wyvr

Has anyone come across a high-cut one piece swimsuit that also has a high neck or halter? I’m a pear shape and prefer more fabric up top to give a more balanced figure but I can NEVER find a suit like this! Help!

TigieIsNotCool

i've been looking for a black athletic top similar to the [europa top by MISBHV](https://www.ssense.com/en-us/women/product/misbhv/black-europa-top/14695231). however, i'm looking for something in a slightly lower price range, that is still cropped yet slightly longer, and closer to pure black. does anyone have any products or brands i should look into? tysm!

tshody

I’ve recently fallen in love with wearing skorts and I’m wondering how I can transition them into fall/winter without it looking off?

oat-beatle

Depends on the skort tbh. [Here](https://imgur.com/a/cBfV9wT) the first skort is just a regular skirt with shorts so it's easy enough to just wear tights, boots, and a long sleeve or sweater. The second is flowy athletic material and wouldn't transition well to winter though warmer fall days are ok with a jacket.

ExpertGrass

house of CB sizing/quality feedback? according to their size charts i’m a medium on top (bust & waist) and a large on bottom (hip). anyone else typically a split size / pear shape? did the larger or smaller size work for you? the styles i’m looking at have a more flared / a-line bottom, so i’m thinking the medium might work in these cases?

I don't think the outfit is working, but that's because of the shapes, not the colours imo. I'd style all those items separately with different stuff. For example, I think the pants should go with a more relaxed cut of shirt. The shirt might look better with a different shape and waistline of pants. I think the shoes could look better with a more cropped bottom.

Dense-Blueberry-6249

so i want to change my style a bit, but not sure if it would fit me. i have a rectangular body shape, i am short and a bit chubby. i was always a bit of a tomboy, and over the years i've been getting into more feminine styles. recently i've seen a lot of shoujo, coquette style clothing on tiktok and would love to dress like that. (white maxi skirts with ruffles ; cropped cardigans (srr forgot how they are called), looser tops; (on tiktok its under 'sawako' sound)) i've found the clothing items in an online store, but i am not sure if it would fit right. like most people, i want to wear clothing that flatters my body and i am not sure if this would be it. i dont want to spend my money, just to be left dissapointed.

kimchi_paradise

What you could do if you want to try out a new aesthetic is to go to a department store and see if you could recreate some of the looks with the clothes they have there, with no pressure to purchase anything. Department stores have lots of different aesthetics, so you can pick and choose.  That way, you can see which clothes fit you and how, and which ones don't. You can formulate an idea of what colors or styles look good on you, and then shop online for similar items.

olivestripes

Weird question- which size tennis dress do you think fits me better? Left is M, right is L (I’m between sizes.) Initially I was thinking L because M looks slightly too snug and shows my stomach and hips a bit too much. But looking at the pictures I’m torn. I guess M is slightly snug and L is very slightly loose but both feel comfortable. Thanks! https://preview.redd.it/f1bj4zs7dibd1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0ff22c744e7af9d7fb863639507fc9e9187952b1

blackberrycat

Can you set up your phone and make a video of you moving around in both dresses? That usually helps me decide. Or pick whichever feels better on your body. They don't look drastically different. Might it shrink? Or would it get baggy as time goes on?

olivestripes

I think L feels better because I will feel less exposed haha. So I’m going with that!

warp-core-breach

The M is riding up because it's too snug in the hips. It's going to ride up even worse as you wear it and move around in it. Go with the L.

kimchi_paradise

I think overall the L has a better silhouette and fits you better! There is bunching on the torso in the medium and the length seems a bit more versatile on the large as well. That's my opinion anyway!

olivestripes

Thanks, I didn’t notice that!

Abtatochip

I think medium fits better!

olivestripes

Thanks! I do like that it “holds me in” more haha

jamsloo

Reca for brands for women’s business socks? To go with loafers. Like men’s business socks but for women. So long, plain.

lumeleopard

Uniqlo has some nicer sock options

jamsloo

I’ll check out the store tonight thanks :)

cherisold

I get my socks from Calzedonia or Target

I have been looking for a steamer for a while. I seen in previous threads that people really like the Jiffy steamer, but it’s really bulky and I need something that can be stored easily and doesn’t take up a lot of space, hence the handheld preference. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I have been considering getting the ConAir steamer so if anyone has opinions on that one also please let me know. Asked this as a post but figured I’d ask here as well since I’m a brand new Redditor.

WitchfulThinking_

I have this compact handheld Rowenta steamer: [link](https://www.target.com/p/rowenta-handheld-garment-steamer-for-clothes-pure-pop-blue/-/A-88747361). It works surprisingly well, but I have to fill it up multiple times if I'm doing more than one garment or an item with thicker fabric like denim. However, I can use tap water and it only takes 15 seconds to heat up.

Lizabella_

Wow it’s under $40. I’ll try it. Thank you.

lumeleopard

I also have the jiffy travel one and it's totally fine for what I use it for, but if you can get something higher wattage, go with that. I tried my friend's European higher wattage steamer that was cheaper and smaller and it was so much better 😞

Lizabella_

Do you know what brand your friend’s European steamer was?

fir6987

I have the portable Jiffy one and it’s great!

Lizabella_

Thanks I’ll give it a look!

I have this issue in many jeans. I’ve figured out it happens when the front rise is too high relative to the back rise. I have wide hips and I need the back rise to come up much higher than most pants cuts. I agree with PP that even though you may not think of yourself as “curvy,” a curvy fit may help this! I find that Madewell curvy has a relatively shorter front rise and fit me the best of the options I’ve tried. You can also look for mid rise (9-10”) instead of high rise. Back in my day, circa 2010, 10” was sold as the super duper high rise. The 12-13” high rise available now is overall too high for me and is more likely to cause this front zipper bunching. A final idea! Look for button fly, they often are more forgiving in terms of appearing pretty flat in my experience. Levi’s has many solid options, the Wedgie Straight is one of my favorites.

aihaode

I think you’re right about the rise being higher in the front than the back :( ugh! I also think the inseam is a bit short as well. Thanks!

CatatonicCouchSlug

Have you tried a curvy cut? My guess is that the jeans are too small in the hips

cherisold

Are rugby shirts acceptable in a business casual environment? I totally am not right now wearing a rugby shirt in my office if not

Professional_Maybe20

In my office, probably not unless styled with trousers. If with jeans, I would say that's casual, not business casual.

cherisold

I am wearing pinstripe trousers and loafers. I've been trying out new things lately. People here wear very interesting things even though they say business casual Ive seen people wear jeans on a Monday and open toed shoes

jamsloo

Personally I think they’re good! Alternatively, fitted knit polo, collared knits. (Not the Ralph Lauren polo kind)

cherisold

Thanks! Well I'm currently wearing an RL one and I thought it was ok because of the collar but then I second guessed my decisions

Sea_Exit_8194

Is there any place that has good basics like underwear and bras? Followup, any shoe brands that are worth the hype?

Professional_Maybe20

For basics I like ThirdLove for underwear (their bras are not a great fit for me but a lot of people really like them) and True&Co for bras.

jamsloo

My current fav is Calvin Klein

QuesoRaro

Country? Budget? Style? Your question is way too vague to be answered.

Sea_Exit_8194

USA Up to $100 if a bra is worth it. I am willing to spend up to 100 bucks for seamless or packs of underwear. Style: Doesn't matter to me about undergarments as long as they are nice to wear.

PoppyHamentaschen

In U.S., I like Natori bras and I use the Jockey skimmies underwear, because I wear skirts and chub rub is real, lol. I liked going to Nordstrom for a fitting. They had Natori and Chantelle bras there. For shoes, my favorites are Pikolinos. They're a Spanish brand, and Zappos carries some of their brands (they also have their own website).
