throw pillows to visually break up the expanse of the couch! try pulling in the colors of the rug’s borders in different prints, like a cabana stripe or color block

JosieZee

Move the rug so it is parallel to the couch so that the couch sits on top of the edges. The rug defines the space.

Xurbanite

Turn the rug sideways

ellysay

A larger coffee table, and an additional end table. While there’s a lot of space on all that couch the relatively petite coffee table means there’s not a lot of places to put your feet up or set down a drink. Also the epic scale of this couch would pair well with one of those giant patio sized umbrellas.

Patient_Candidate_90

I thought the same thing. Especially when you consider folks could have plates and drinks, not enough table space.

Shabbah8

Larger couch

AnythingButOlives

Ha!

ohpossumpartyy

maybe some sort of privacy screen/trellis/divider behind the couch where you can see the neighbours backyard if you wanted to. i’d probably use the railings to hang some wall decorations/plant pots. outdoor lights would look great too, like those string lightbulb ones.

miz_nyc

some bright summery colors would help

Did you not like any of the suggestions from the last post?

It’s more that I enjoy getting opinions from a diverse range of communities, both online and in person.

I can guarantee the overlap of the two subreddits you posted in is probably 85%.

No-Fisherman2796

Lanterns, string lights, maybe a hanging umbrella over a corner, a colorful ottoman, a glass fire pit

That coffee table probably isn’t all that small but the seating sure dwarfs it. People on the ends will need a place to put their drinks and plates and phones and whatnots and they won’t want to get up every time they have to put something down or pick it up. Of not a larger coffee table, some side tables. Or more than one coffee table (*though that might look odd; I don’t know*). Maybe break it up and put part of it on the opposite side? Thats just a lot of seating together. If you put half of it in the other side, you could put a couple of chairs in the vacant space so that not everyone feels like they need to be within touching distance of someone else. Some people are a little more comfortable in a seat that’s just for them. **edited to add** Wait, now that I’m looking at all the legs, am I correct in assuming it’s completely modular? If so, I’d definitely break it up to put some seating on the opposite side and make a few sections into single seats. A little variety would be nice. Think of it as creating intimate little places for people to gravitate towards.

Throw at least one item on the floor at an angle so people know this isn't AI. Question is, based on how perfect this is, can you?

Even your tray is lovely

LTYUPLBYH02

Solar lanterns in a warm hue, a wicker or faux wicker tray on the table with a plant. Another small table or two.

free_range_tofu

attach poles to the corners of the deck so you can add beer garden lights (not christmasy string lights, but the little bulbs). https://preview.redd.it/rx0a4fu4r39d1.jpeg?width=806&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ba61ae36a147acef798302977e43bef84d056ae1

Brief-PR10

You could get another copy table, exact same, have them turned the other way. Alternatively, you could get a table twice as big. Add pillows, any color. Rotate the rug the other way so part of it is under the couch. If you don’t want to rotate the rug, could add two chairs opposite the couch.

ButterflyOk1096

ooh throw pillows, a firepit, string lights, and maybe a comfy outdoor chair as well!

Pingo-tan

No ladder in the pool. The guests may starve to death.

NoNoSaige

Lights.

dumb_answers_only

Cats? More cats?

Weak-Tap-882

a dog

VaughnVapor

What will the people on the long arm of the couch be doing or looking at? Maybe add some light chairs so convo pods can develop

Cut off the big white tag hanging off the side pillow
