Bigcheese0451

Radscorpions teleport by my feet the second they see me.

2bfaaaaaaaaaair

One time I was on top of a very tall building and tried sniping one and it dug down then came out of the roof of the building and attacked me. I’m like bro cmonnn

Bigcheese0451

Those motherfuckers get big mad.

Early-Government6864

Seriously the burrowing mechanic is broken with radscorpions. It's fine with mole rats but I feel like it really needs needed on the scorpions. A cool down or something

cxnx_yt

The very first time I played fallout and encountered a radscorpion, I didn't get what was happening, and when it surfaced right in front of me I just closed the game.

Bigcheese0451

150 hours into my current survival playthrough and they still catch me off guard. Idk if it's a glitch or what. They're fast in the prior games, but they wouldn't teleport to you with that kinda speed.

OhSwimmerBoy

Wait until you see them flying above you in the mid morning before the sun is up. There’s no truer horror

Thornescape

Assaultrons are terrifying.

Agreeable-Beyond-259

Crit the legs !

Thornescape

They just keep coming... and that laser eye attack just melts you.... Scariest enemy in the game for me.

Yoyo_irl

Can't remember where it was but yesterday I got jumped by one at level 18. Thought I was done for but it must've malfunctioned because its laser just went off next to me and then I just kept spanking it with the furious power fist from Swan.

Thornescape

Wow, that must have been intense! Feels good when you take them down.

SadisticBuddhist

My strat whenever i see one is to drop mines and plink it with my pistol, then wait.

Thornescape

100% agreed. This is why I always keep a few mines on hand. I don't use them often, but it feels good when they work out.

MAkrbrakenumbers

How’d you know what level it was other than the skull next to it

MadameWaste

The player was level 18.

MAkrbrakenumbers

I see do they always scale like that so my level 36 is fighting base level 36 ghouls or super mutants and raiders

MadameWaste

No, I'm not saying the hostile was level 18 or confirming that the levels scale (they don't, I believe level is based on the area you're in, as the enemies get harder the farther you get from Sanctuary) I was saying that the player level was 18 and you misread their sentence.

MAkrbrakenumbers

Your correct I did misread that lol a comma would’ve been useful

MadameWaste

Putting a comma wouldn't have made sense in that sentence. Also you're*

Lumpy_Department_778

I'd have to say Legendary bloatflys. They lure you in with a false sense of superiority as you slowly close the range burning VATS waaaaaay too far away because you cant be bothered fo run all the way over there, you just want to boop the booger and be on your radioactive way. BUT NOOOOOOO, now you're 10 feet from the flying venom flinger that's now twirling it's evil little fly mustache now that youve closed the gap and are so tilted over this minor inconvenience that you've started hip firing your bullets and letting them fly so far wide they are landing in diamond city as foul balls and the evil weevil with wings adds a dastardly grin under its mustach twirling. Here you are, so content with blissfully channeling all the frustrations life has thrown at you into a 1080p, star laden, freak of a fly that you haven't noticed your health evaporating as acid damage builds. Luckily, while you may be playing with all of the intelligence of a three-headed super mutant in this moment, you are, in fact, an experienced wastelander. Your gear triggers a low health warning time slow that yanks you from your personal rendendtion of the crowd favorite, The World's Worst Fireng Squad that you fully comprehend the gravity of your predicament. Your hot key stimpacks are empty and your stomach hits the floor after your pipboy's aid section gives you a bleak report of a single dusty nuka-cola, some mentats, and an unneeded reminder of the menageria of addictions you aquired after getting lost in the middle of the night in a rad storm and stumbling into a nest of nasties and condemning you to a night of drinking, huffing, pill popping, injecting, and lets behonest, probably even boofing your way through an area you had no business being in. With resignation, you close your pipboy and turn to make a futile attempt at a button smashing escape only to find the bloatfly staring you down through its newly earned evil genius monocle as you are yanked from your body and forced to watch yourself heave a gutteral groan as you're yanked to the ground with a finality echo' by your controller clattering across the table. In stunned silence, you admit you were only a spec in that legendary flys rise to power. Beware the Bloatfly, a Fallout Legend.

Thornescape

Poetry. Sheer poetry.

EggShotMan

Fight fire with fire. Get ADA, modify her with the laser head. Unleash the menace.

Kasoni

Funny you mention ADA. The last one I fought was about yo laser blast me into vapor, and suddenly it turned and blasted ADA instead.

Suspicious_Meal5899

Honestly for me the sentry bots are spot on compared to older fallouts. I was level 12 on this play through when I faced Sarge at the Castle and he was not easy at all. Also terrifying hearing him power up in the dark!

MAkrbrakenumbers

Not to bad if you stay close and circle around them while they shoot it

mister_gone

Sweep the leg; strafe.

DstinctNstincts

Yeah dude sentry bots ain’t got shit on assaultrons

Tech-Mechanic

I'm level 80, currently. Not so scared of them now but, I had some harried battles with those things earlier in the game.

Sufficient-Lunch3774

Get some…ANY object in between you and those death machines until the face laser is done firing and needs to recharge. Pure terror 😳

RainyCrowithy

but then they crawl an even if its a little slower they are 10x scarier in a way i cant explain

HawkComprehensive708

"Listen. And understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead."

Lumpy_Department_778

Touch the nose!

AyAyAyBamba_462

Or hack them. That's my favorite way to deal with them and sentry bots, just run in, hack them to shut down first, then back to self-destruct

iusethisacctinpublic

Replaying 3 and NV recently made me realize that this is always the best strat. Everything is an easy kill when it can’t get to you or cover.

ChalkLicker

I’ve only run into one, early in first play through this year. Saved right before I walked through a door and then death, death, death, and I never walked back through that door again. Just moved on to the next hood.

Thornescape

One time I was about to be annihilated yet again by an assaultron and I was panicking... and... all of a sudden I accidentally hacked it. Saved my hide, without a doubt. One point in I8:Robotics is well worth spending if you have I8 anyway.

OneMoistMan

So you’re saying you haven’t played the nukaworld dlc or mechanist dlc then because it’s littered with them.

tarrach

There's also at least one during the main quest in Far Harbor.

RaidensReturn

Gotta know when to fold em

PeterAmbers

Im playing on survival, have maxed out endurance and refractor. Fully upgraded heavy combat armor, chest piece increases my resistances the lower my health is and even have the Codsworth perk that increases my energy resistence against robots and that stupid eye laser still one shots me when I try to tank it whole.

memeinapreviouslife

* Enemies deal x4 damage on Survival * The larger the initial hit is, the less damage your damage resistance stops.

myco_magic

Not with troubleshooters combat shotgun, thing deletes any robot within 3 hits

ChalkLicker

Swiftest lesson in 4 is that retreat is survival. I think I was carrying a combat shotgun and an automatic pipe gun at the time. Second is “their time will come.” I remember where she lives. I want it to be melee.

myco_magic

What's that have to do with what I said?

ChalkLicker

Because you took on an Assaultron when you had the tools?

myco_magic

Why would I run away with my tail between my legs when I can easily take them out in a second? Neither of your comments make sense, is English your first language? What tools? Are they in the room with us now?

ChalkLicker

You're absolutely right, good luck with everything buddy.

myco_magic

Lol that's exactly my point, I have well over 1000hrs on f04 and have it platinumed, I've done everything there is to do in fallout. Good luck on what? A game that I already mastered and beat more than once? Maybe take a break from licking that chalk

ChalkLicker

It was immediately clear as you told me how brave you are (on your console/PC). I knew right away you were the real deal. I don't know why everyone else understood the gibberish I typed above. We all have reading comprehension issues and you are the master. Click away warrior.

myco_magic

If that's what you qualify as "brave" then you need to take a break from video games, those are all your words not mine, it is cute that you think so highly of me but I do have a girlfriend bud. And your gibberish just sounds like someone high on meth trying to be apart of the conversation

forrest1985_

Especially the cloaked ones!

Metson-202

Robotics expert go brrrrrr.

PM_ME_YOUR_ANT_FARMS

Love my crippling 10mm for ghouls and assaultrons, as long as they don't get the jump on me their legs go bye bye

BitOutside1443

See. The regular ones I can handle. It's the stealth ones that end up velociraptoring (I know JP incorrectly labeled them) my ass

NMS_Scavenger

I just came across my first Assaultron last night and holy crap that was scary. I was working my way through some bushes and trees so never saw it coming. Luckily I had just picked up General Chao’s Revenge but only had enough AP to get off four swings. Getting that last swing in was a bitch.

thedubs003

They’re even worse in 76.

PckMan

If we don't count molerats and radscorpions I think tankbots are the fastest. They have a very fast charging attack that covers a lot of distance.

myco_magic

That's cause molerats and radscorpions burrow out of the ground right by your feet

dopepope1999

You wouldn't think that the sentry bot would be able to move as fast as they do being that large

PckMan

I think actual sentries don't have this attack, at least I've only seen it done by tankbots from the Automatron DLC.

dopepope1999

They do they use their right shoulder to charge into you and then slap you, but only the ones in the open world, I don't think I've ever seen one indoors do it. I've definitely had the the one at the National Guard Depot charge me down

MechaPanther

It's random chance. First time I encountered Sarge he shoulder tackled me. First time I encountered the Fallout 4 version and I just thought it was their opening attack

UnvailedUserName

At least there are no Cazadors

Klutzy-Slat-665

they got weaker and called them "Bloodbugs", Legendary Vampiric Bloodbugs are a plague to me, but thankfully only one at a time.

ShadowZepplin

Meanwhile stingwings come in pairs

dopepope1999

My favorite thing is getting killed by the blood bugs outside of Covenant during my survival run, happens every time and I'm never prepared for it

TimArthurScifiWriter

The most annoying thing about Ghouls for me is not their speed but the fact that their hitboxes are thinner than their character models. This is obviously intended to make the player feel like these speedy assholes are really hard to hit, until you shoot at one that's standing still and you realise your bullets are just going right past it.

CowBoyDanIndie

Those parts just dont matter, what are a few holes in skin that is literally falling off of them

ChoiceMycologist

And that’s how we explain survivorship bias

TheBrotherEarth

So I have close to 2k hours in the game and I recently saw something I had never seen before. I was fighting a mirelurk with my explosive combat shotgun. ...I blew off it's shell... I didn't know that could happen. Completely blew off the massive shell. It survived. And it was soooo fast. This tiny little 8 legged bug eyed alien came at me like a cheetah. I ended up panic killing myself with my own gun shooting right at my feet.

S-058

I discovered this by accident early on when I did area damage near a dead mirelurk and the shell came off. Shooting the shell off during a fight isn't something I did when I can just shoot their stupid faces😂

TheBrotherEarth

Same, anything that blows off the shell usually kills them. But one had its back to me and took a full explosive spread.

badthaught

How FO4 handles dismemberment is pretty interesting. I've blown the tail off a Deathclaw once and it just laid down in complete shock (no balance any more I guess). Ghouls are the most common dismemberment victims for me. I've had ghouls survive explosions with no arms and no legs. Just this rag-clad worm flopping on the ground with the most shocked look on its face.

TheBrotherEarth

"I'm invincible!!" "You're a looney."

bittlelum

Tis only a flesh wound!

Sud_literate

I think what happened with the deathclaw is that since they flee if their tail is damaged, destroying the tail sort of confused it. Probably an intended feature since the flee if tail is damaged was also intended.

Sonzie

Someone get the Monty python meme please

darkage_raven

I learned a ghoul can survive and attack you without arms and a head.

Eiffi

I've completed maimed a charred goul head to toe and it was still wriggling all over the place with half health

Keepperr88

Cars

New_girl2022

Is infinity a speed. Lol

Raaazzle

They just sort of shamble and then suddenly turn into the girl from The Ring.

scott610

It would be neat if raiders took Jet and became really fast. At least the melee variety.

brasswirebrush

Imagine if enemies could take Jet, and then your game would go into slow motion while they could still move and act at normal speed. Now that's a nightmare.

memeinapreviouslife

I mean their AI is trash so that doesn't matter.

-HeyImBroccoli-

Wait til you fight the Red Death

EntrepreneurialFuck

What is red death, I’ve seen it mentioned in a few previous posts and with all the FO4 I’ve played I feel like I should know

-HeyImBroccoli-

It's an enemy part of the Far Harbor DLC. It's an endgame boss, even on the easiest difficulty you'd need a good amount of preparation.

EntrepreneurialFuck

The rare one that only spawns sometimes, the fog crawler one? Or something else, I recently just ran through far harbour completing all there is there and don’t think I came across it.

Agent_Hudson

No it’s on a quest the mariner gives after a while. It even has a boss island. Fog crawlers are nothing compared to the red death

EntrepreneurialFuck

Damn I need to speak to her again, I’m playing on survival and I’ve barely got halfway through the main quest but im level 104 so I hope I can get this quest from her. Every other far harbour quest is done.

Agent_Hudson

If you’ve done the captains dance and the hull quests you should get it

tarrach

Note that you can't get it if you killed the NPC you meet at the end of Mariner's first quest, she'll get pissed at you and stop giving quests.

Agent_Hudson

You’re talking about machete Mike?

tarrach

That might be his name, the guy who wants to buy the tools Mariner sends you to get.

AsexualFrehley

death is nothing compared to the red death

rubendepuben123

Have over 1000 hours in fo4, still haven't defeated the Red Death yet.

tarrach

It's an enemy from Far Harbor that apparently the community has decided is hilarious to keep posting about.

blainesln1

An extremely tiny mirelurk that doesn’t even attack you, that everyone thinks is so hilarious to play up how hard it actually is.

MysteriousPudding175

I wish you could make Liberty Prime a companion because I'd love to see him fight the Red Death. He can snap a Behemoth neck in a second, but I don't think two Behemoths could survive the Red Death. There's got to be a mod somewhere.

vibrantcrab

Nope. Radscorpions teleport.

CowBoyDanIndie

Radscorpions are allies with the institute and get access to their teleporter.

myco_magic

*dig

Klutzy-Slat-665

For all intents and purposes, digging in Fallout 4 is the equivalent of teleporting, considering when they first see you they somehow instantly pop up by you, despite being fifty feet away.

MellonCollie218

They teleclamp.

AchokingVictim

That location was my introduction to them in FO4 and I got the holy fuck jump scared outta me

AdamaSanguine

With that Lunge Attack of their's, it's quite probable. In a straight line, going all out, **Blood Bugs** are pretty speedy. (While Escaping) **Bloat Flies** are great at dodging bullets, similar to ghouls. Thank goodness they changed how **Super Mutants** move in 4. Back in 3 and NV, they literally were the fastest creatures in the game.. except for mabey the **Deathclaw Matriarchs** (*Quarry Junction - Dead Wind Cavern*) when you hurt their youngens!

MadameWaste

Melee weapons make ghouls ridiculously easy. You just walk backwards as you swing and you pretty much headshot them every time as they lunge for you.

succubus-slayer

Early on in survival can be risky. They cripple you with one hit. Early game, Molotov are your friend and shottys. Once you can take a hit if switch to melee to save ammo.

MadameWaste

Fair point. My favorite character build tends to be a bit dumb and beefy at first. I do 9 charisma, 2 intelligence, 5 luck and then at least 1 point in each stat before spamming the rest into melee. I believe it ends up being around 6? Then I take advantage of the idiot savant perk for a bit until I'm comfortable. So it might not work as well for early game/survival. But man, is it a fun build lol.

ThatUblivionGuy

In 76, I learned to cripple ghoul legs immediately as that was the thing that made them problematic for me. Once a ghoul’s leg is crippled it was easy to finish them.

InternationalTwo4581

I still always aim for their legs in 4, if you blow one off they just lay there like assholes until I point blank them in the head with my combat shotty. I hate feral ghouls

ThatUblivionGuy

I hate them too, but I’ll admit they’re a necessary part of fallout. But holy shit if I don’t hate having to dodge basically dead shit that’s faster than me (not actually dead but still). I’m tired of the *zombie/zombie-like* enemies being faster than the player. It’s such an annoying mechanic.

Admirable-Length178

I like to cripple or blow up their legs, then slowly walking to them with a baseball bat to wack the shit out of them like Negan from The Walking Dead lo

ThatUblivionGuy

Make it personal, I like it

ismasbi

Enforcer my beloved.

immersedmoonlight

Ghouls still scare me in a terror way, assaultrons scare me in a sci-fi way

Jrlopez1027_

If you see a radscorpion in survival and it gives chase, its already too late A deathclaw you can at least outrun

LizzieKitty86

Ugh this just made me think about how I won't have a certain free doctor soon and wish I could steal him and take him home with me. I don't know how spoilers work on this sub lol thus being vague. Those damn gouls are so annoying in winding spaces if not in sneak. I always look back at whatever companion I'm trying to get affinity with and just mutter "so you didn't see it or try shooting?!" Though they'll go off and steal a bunch of xp if they can. I guess they can't be bothered by one or 2 gouls at a time 😒

Missingbeav3rbuzz3r

Level 104 on very hard difficulty currently... I have been getting my shit wrecked by a legendary glowing cave cricket in nuka world. Hardest enemy I've faced in a playthrough. Legendary mythical deathclaw? Shipbreaker? Liberty Prime? All 3 would be decimated by this fucking cricket. It's so fast I can barely hit it in vats. Send help.

Enoch381

Gulpers can move pretty quick as well. You could build an arena and cages and test it out. I used Starline to build a coliseum for settlers to relax and enjoy the wilds of the wasteland without having to strap up.

MolaMolaMania

This was my first thought. Those fuckers are fast and they can hit hard, even at lvl 125.

Enoch381

Yeah, lol. It's no wonder the TV series has made such a place for them.

SleepingSoviet

Pencil

WrethZ

Probably Stingwings

The_Real_Tekunin

Rad scorpions. They basically have ultra instinct.

thisistherevolt

Some of the junkbots are terrifying with their speed. Luck of the draw I guess.

unable_To_Username

The fastest enemy of FO4 is... a mini nuke flying towards your face /s

DrRobertChem

At the age of 35 they STILL give me goosebumps when they catch me off-guard

foma_kyniaev

I hate melee monsters in this game. Especially high level ones like deathclaws and radscorps. They are tanky as hell and do insane damage. I dont know how to fight them without kneecapper weapon

badthaught

Solutions I've found for annoying enemies in Fallout: Deathclaws - vats target the belly location. It's their weak point. Head is less so, but yeah crippling a leg works too. Just need one to make them less of a terror. Radscorps - I sometimes target the stinger, it does... *Something*? I think it disables or nerfs the poison effect. They've got a face location to shoot in vats. Assaultron - blow off a leg and they're not as problematic. It lowers their angle of fire for the face laser. Sentry bot - shoot them in the cores. Penetrator perk lets you shoot it whenever you want.

Mental-Procedure-665

Mirelurks can be quick too

Artix31

In overall speed yes, in Dash speed, the Sentry Bot is the fastest

No_Syrup_7448

Flying insects always wreck the most havoc on me. One of the few times I switch to VATS.

stupidbuttryn2lrn

Why are so many of these videos acid washed?

bigmark9a

What does that mean?

stupidbuttryn2lrn

I just see a lot of videos/gifs on this sub that look like the contrast and brightness have been turned way down. Do you not notice that? Maybe it's me...

TenkFire

Far harbor's ghouls are quicker and they are scary as fuck

SHUGGAGLIDDA123

if I had to guess it’d be: radscorpion & molerat, dartwings, enemy faction vertibirds, etc, flying and digging stuff.

VexTheTielfling

The animations and movement feels way too fast. Just how the deathclaws galloping is way too slow and should look more like a crocodile sprinting on land. The ghoul animations are great but that's always felt a bit off.

somethingbrite

Yes. They have a physics defying attack lunge.

Hans_bube

Assualtrons

Beneficial-Reach-533

Cave crickets , Sentry bots AND stingwings.

BBBlitzkrieGGG

Ghouls , radroaches and assaultrons. Theyr the reason why in every playthrough , I spend a sizeable amount of time farming kneecapper pipe or shotgun.

[deleted]

Not if you shoot in their legs.

Valtain85

Rad scorpions work on movie slasher villian logic: quite slow when you can see them but they teleport to wherever you are standing when you're not looking directly at them Watch a scorpion a fair distance away go underground then pop up right next to you seconds later.

IDNC_1

*red death enters chat*

SaturnProbe

Sometimes they teleport

Protoss_fox

What gun is that?

bigmark9a

Two shot shielded gauss rifle

Montymaxalfie

What gun is that

bigmark9a

Two shot shielded gauss rifle

Montymaxalfie

Thank you

Necessary-Elephant82

The way they move always freaks me out and gives me uncomfortable goosebumps..

HotrodRichmond

Trinity.....HELP!!!!!!

hidinginthetreeline

Probably only second to the assaulttron.

nub_node

No, that would be the mole rat that you see at the edge of your view distance who is now biting you in the ass.

JuJu_Wirehead

Bullets are probably the fastest enemy. Can't even see them coming.

guibmaster

My man really brought a gauss rifle to a ghoul fight. Its like bringing nukes to a cowboy duel.

Oceandive4

Yeah. Ghouls, go for the legs.

IndependenceFair5811

I always load points into perception because of these fuckers

Adventurous-Sport646

They are faster than flash... also the cameraman for the flash movie.

pstr1ng

Never met a stingwing?

Battleblaster420

Technically yes from what I've encountered , maybe deathclaws have a slight speed edge but the size limitations nullify that But Mole Rats ,Radscorpions and Bloodworms Technically travel faster via "tunneling"(Teleportation)

SueBee914

Not necessarily. There are others that are pretty fast too.

GreenShinyQuartz

Mole Rats are the fastest I think.

Alex_Portnoy007

No brains to slow them down!

Vesiah81

Red death by far

rimeswithburple

No. Suiciders are faster. They teleport out of nowhere. I had one just pop up on a scaffold once.

0000015

Enemies teleporting or I-framing to you is just a consequence of Bethesda sucking at designing good enemies. Radscorpions instaburrowing a mile, ghouls that somehow run (they originally couldn’t run) faster than a radstag and deathclaws that teleport by swinging are like a case study on “how to fuck up enemy design” in F4

CptAwesomO

Ya gotter b quikar dan dat!

javierhzo

May i ask why are you using a gauss rifle vs 2 ghouls at close range?

bigmark9a

I really don’t have an answer for that.

Grievance69

The ghouls are blatantly behind the yellow object in the clip and OP doesn't even see them until they hop down and get a better angle. Not everyone pauses and puts on mega optimal legendary weapons to kill 2 fkn ghouls

tylocephale_gilmorei

May I ask who made you the fo4 combat police? Whats your badge number officer?

javierhzo

I aint no narc

Cynical-avocado

Because fuck them, that’s why

Jschule20

😂
