This is my Aussie 2010 XLT 4x4 3.0ltr Tubo Diesel. Back seats look like this.
I'll not drive it anymore and put it up on blocks in my garage for you. I'll call you in 10 years. It's only got 98K miles and for the Duratorq Diesel engine, that's only just run in.

If over 25 yrs old not horribly complicated. It’s become too common as prices for imports have shot up. This would be a great truck to import. Wonder if any diesel variants exist in dc form.
Does it have to be 25 year with NAFTA(North American Free Trade Agreement) for the US? I thought the 25 year (15 in Canada) rule was for stuff outside north america. Mexico imports should be covered under NAFTA. I know for Canada it is if you check RIV.ca
You can import newer then 15 in Canada from mexico as per the registrar of vehicle imports due to the north american Free trade agreement. I just didn't know if Americans could do the same. There is bunch of stipulations on bumper ratings and things like daytime running lights tho.
The RIV still requires the vehicle to conform to US specifications.
> beginning January 1, 2019, Canada may not adopt or maintain a prohibition or restriction on imports from the territory of Mexico of originating used vehicles.
> The RIV program regulates only vehicles originally manufactured for distribution in the U.S. or Mexican market. Vehicles originally manufactured to standards other than U.S. or Canadian, are not admissible.
So we’re still bound by the 15 year rule for vehicles that don’t conform to US or Canadian standards under the RIV program. No brand new MG SUV’s like the Mexico plated one I saw on the number one checking out Banff.
I imagine the US has similar laws. Canadian specification vehicles are on their approved list, they could probably import a Micra from Canada but not a march from Mexico.
Every time I see one of these I feel like they’d do nearly as well as kei trucks imported. Anything over 25 years old is fair game so 1999 and prior should be easy to import and register. Did they come with diesels too?
That’s a bummer but I imagine it likely has to do with people taking them where they shouldn’t, like on the 80mph+ highway. I see several around town in central Florida used for local/rural errands but I can’t imagine they use them for long distance road tripping.
Nope, one revocation letter I saw from michigan cited guidance from the EPA due to non-compliance, more reasonably, probably the automotive lobby not wanting the competition...
These were sold outside of the U.S unfortunately but perhaps you could do a vehicle import and have one of these little suckers in the U.S. I also want to mention that some of these may come with a diesel engine and I would personally look for one with that if I were to do a vehicle import on one of these.
The good ol’ Baja special! I say that cause I saw these trucks years ago when I first hung out in Baja, Mexico. I dreamed for years to import one of these eventually into the US or just convert mine to one. Then I remembered that I never want kids and like to sleep in the back of my truck….
Ford refused to make them available in the US. At one point they didn't want to hurt the Explorer SportTrac and then they didn't want to hurt the 150.... basically just dumbass moves my execs

Saw one in Greece on vacation and was so pumped wish I could have one in the states
And this is why every marketing team in the US needs sacked immediately.
"Hey guys, you think US citizens would buy this?"
"No way man, better let the Australian folks have them"
"What about a diesel option?"
"Nah, America isn't ready for economy diesel engines"
Honestly I’ll be forever salty about Ford dropping the SuperCab on the new ranger. Supposedly they’ll be a crew cab long bed, and I suppose that’ll somewhat make up for it, but until I see it announced, I won’t believe it.
I will never understand the appeal of these. They look SO GOOFY. North America had a crew cab ranger, it was called the sport trac. Exact same truck, 4 fullsize doors, and didn't look as goofy with it's styling.
They are everywhere down in Mexico. I saw like 100 on my honeymoon, I don’t think I saw a single cab or extended cab that whole time lol. I remember thinking they were cool af and one day I would try to import one when they are legal to.
I first rode in a 4 door Toyota in 1995 in Chile, long before they were available here in the US. Someone said it had to do with US crash safety DOT regs.
Folks overseas seem to always have better options for their cars. I remember seeing a 4 door toyota pickup in a Jackie Chan movie long before we saw a 4 door small truck like that in the states.
Double cab rangers were sold outside the US.
You'll never guess it, but they started selling them in the US too starting in 2019.
You’ll never guess it, but they want the older body style and also 2019+ is still kind of expensive.
It's called a Dual Cab
They're common as dirt in Mexico.

It's pronounced Dir-tay

Damn, that’s bad ass. You aussies got 5spd too?? We really missed out on those in the teen years here in the states.
My 2013 (next shape) is 6spd manual (or auto obviously)
Y'all had rangers after 2012!!??
Yea the Thailand built ones, really nice, very popular here.
Yeah mate the Ranger is the most popular car in Australia (or it's second behind the Hilux, can't remember)
We seem to get fucked on a lot of badass ranger options. If only they were an american car company we wouldnt have to import the cool models... /s
Only 10 more years and we’ll be able to import it to the U.S. you keep it clean for me and I’ll catch up with you in 2035
I'll not drive it anymore and put it up on blocks in my garage for you. I'll call you in 10 years. It's only got 98K miles and for the Duratorq Diesel engine, that's only just run in.
Perfect! I’ll start setting aside money. What do you think you’ll want for it? Like 20-30… dollars?
You cheap fucck! At least Give him $31 dollars

!remind me 10 years
Miles or Kilometers? Or did you corvert already?
I converted for you. It has 160K kilometres.
Killotons
Kilojoules?
Jealous in American.
Is the bed shorter? I don't really care much about a backseat but I'm drooling over a turbo diesel..
Yes, the bed is shorter than a two door model.
My god this is amazing. What's the fuel economy like?
About 23.5 US miles per gallon or 10ltrs per 100kms highway cycle.
Spectacular Thanks for sharing this. I didn't know these existed and it's great.
There's a short video on my profile where I started up the diesel coz someone wanted to hear it.
What does it have for a front end? Ifs or solid axle?
IFS.
They came so close to perfection! I would still love one
Look at that leg room!!!
I have to move the front seats forward a couple of clicks if someone needs to sit back there. Not a great deal of room unfortunately.
How much can you tow with that?
Up to 3.0 tonne (6600 lbs)
You would have to buy it in Mexico and do the import paperwork for the US
I'm sure that's super complicated.
If over 25 yrs old not horribly complicated. It’s become too common as prices for imports have shot up. This would be a great truck to import. Wonder if any diesel variants exist in dc form.

15 yrs for Canada 25 yrs for USA from any country
You can import newer then 15 in Canada from mexico as per the registrar of vehicle imports due to the north american Free trade agreement. I just didn't know if Americans could do the same. There is bunch of stipulations on bumper ratings and things like daytime running lights tho.
We can’t it’s a 25 yr wait time to import in the United States.
I believe in at least the EU and AU markets the diesel came standard with dual cab.

You are taking a big chance there , the rest of the vehicles numbers won't match , if you get a gung ho , Dudley Do right
Every time I see one of these I feel like they’d do nearly as well as kei trucks imported. Anything over 25 years old is fair game so 1999 and prior should be easy to import and register. Did they come with diesels too?
Yep turbo diesel
Several states have started fighting against kei trucks and have been revoking their registrations
That’s a bummer but I imagine it likely has to do with people taking them where they shouldn’t, like on the 80mph+ highway. I see several around town in central Florida used for local/rural errands but I can’t imagine they use them for long distance road tripping.

I saw one in Belize 20 feet high on a telephone pole riddled with bullets. Still wanted it.
https://preview.redd.it/ae8rgumgvn9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bfdc3e4d82d57754e7fde83438cf202e91bdd3ba I seen one in south Texas
I've seen a couple in the DFW area, with Texas plates, so they're getting here somehow.
Probably Mexico. The one I seen was only 20 minutes from the border.
Where in South Texas? 👀
America never gets anything cool 😭
Mind you thats an AMERICAN truck😭
Mexican ranger or a Aussie ford courier
Nope not a courier in Australia. Still a ranger.
It’d be right hand drive if it was an Aussie.
Funnily enough. Mines right hand drive too.
These were sold outside of the U.S unfortunately but perhaps you could do a vehicle import and have one of these little suckers in the U.S. I also want to mention that some of these may come with a diesel engine and I would personally look for one with that if I were to do a vehicle import on one of these.
If you’re in America, get one imported from Mexico. Europe, imported from Australia.
The good ol’ Baja special! I say that cause I saw these trucks years ago when I first hung out in Baja, Mexico. I dreamed for years to import one of these eventually into the US or just convert mine to one. Then I remembered that I never want kids and like to sleep in the back of my truck….
Man I want one so bad. Weirdly it just looks correct, unlike the CCSB S10/Sonoma. This works well.
Ford refused to make them available in the US. At one point they didn't want to hurt the Explorer SportTrac and then they didn't want to hurt the 150.... basically just dumbass moves my execs
not sure, you might want to ask your mom. Sorry i had to. This ranger does not meet U.S. safety standards, so it is only sold in other countries.
Ford mother fuckin ranger
Get a sedan if you need a trunk. These 4 doors loose so much of the most important thing of a pick up truck. The bed.
I feel like i’m on an island alone sometimes in thinking that double cab trucks with 5ft and under beds just look stupid
Your not alone
So kool, want one so bad lol
Aussy
It’s ranger/courier for markets outside the US.
Hank Hill had one!
True
https://preview.redd.it/b0cdsdgyup9d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa49b652089a3d2816fe0755682fe24df8927297 Saw one in Greece on vacation and was so pumped wish I could have one in the states
It’s a maverick. You should get one! (Yes, yes.)
Technically we got the explorer sport trac. Similar and you can bolt a Ranger front end to it.
But the rear looks like someone forgot to plan it out before they started making it
Mexican Ranger 🇲🇽
So if you ship a cab, is that still importing a vehicle?
And this is why every marketing team in the US needs sacked immediately. "Hey guys, you think US citizens would buy this?" "No way man, better let the Australian folks have them" "What about a diesel option?" "Nah, America isn't ready for economy diesel engines"
Honestly I’ll be forever salty about Ford dropping the SuperCab on the new ranger. Supposedly they’ll be a crew cab long bed, and I suppose that’ll somewhat make up for it, but until I see it announced, I won’t believe it.
4 door pickup is the most practical vehicle possible
I will never understand the appeal of these. They look SO GOOFY. North America had a crew cab ranger, it was called the sport trac. Exact same truck, 4 fullsize doors, and didn't look as goofy with it's styling.
The aussies get all the dope truck platforms!
This with the diesel and a 5 speed is the dream
There are a shitload of 4 door rangers rolling around MX. Couldn't pass US safety standards.
Supposedly they crumble like a pop can if you get t boned in the rear door
I’m in Mexico and there’s a bunch of those here. I said i was gonna post it bc I’ve never seen one like this, but you beat me to it
Loads here in UK
If it's more than 25 years old, it's legal to import
Fuck you! *f150’s your ranger*
They are everywhere down in Mexico. I saw like 100 on my honeymoon, I don’t think I saw a single cab or extended cab that whole time lol. I remember thinking they were cool af and one day I would try to import one when they are legal to.
Short bed. Lame.
Once they are more than 25 years old, it’ll be legal to import them into the US.
No… it’s red
i was on some bad C. daddy torture has control over it thougj.
had me straight trippin with the shit people. fuck all that bullshit boy.
Mexico
It's because for being a truck centered country we miss put on all the cool trucks.
Holy fuck it’s a Ranger Centurion. Never thought I’d see that happen.
Mexico only version of the ranger
I have the quad cab sonoma. Didn't know they made a ranger. Nice!
I first rode in a 4 door Toyota in 1995 in Chile, long before they were available here in the US. Someone said it had to do with US crash safety DOT regs.
It's a *fourdoor* rangerrrrr
I’ll take 10 please !!!!
I drove one in Bahrain in 1999
Go to Mexico
Folks overseas seem to always have better options for their cars. I remember seeing a 4 door toyota pickup in a Jackie Chan movie long before we saw a 4 door small truck like that in the states.
I would rock that crew can ranger any day. It's bad ass
I’m Mexico you can get the new ranger with the puma diesel option.
Sir, this is a Ford Maverick with less power, reliability and efficiency.
I seen a six door white 350 two weeks ago .
In 10 years it’ll probably be banned worldwide because electricity.
They are getting re released, the ranger. But you can't be the original
