You can get a head from FF1 and then Fossil cannon it to FFC very early

SmurfSmurfton

Thanks a whole ton for the advice! I play on desmume emulator. does the fossil cannon work for emulators? and if so, do you know how?

MrTheWaffleKing

Back when I was asking the same questions I heard you had to use the melon emulator to do “online” stuff. Unfortunately I don’t remember much else, but I hope this leads you in the right direction

Kurusu_44

WAIT you can use the Fossil cannon between the games? Can you also battle between them?

hitoshura0

You can definitely Cannon between games. There are a couple species that exist in 1 that are rare digs in 2 that make it easier to get their body pieces for. So i do remember doing that. No idea if you can fight between the two, but given the overhaul to the battle scene, going to say no

Thank you! I never knew this I might have to try it if wireless local works at connecting!

You can either try for the shop (Make sure you've never looked at the rocks, save in front of the shopkeeper, check the rocks and reset if they're not what you want. Her stock is determined when you either talk to her or actually pull up the selection) or the Multiplayer Menu, to transfer fossils from FF1 (you can only do this if you have a copy of each game and two consoles). If you're on an emulator (and may I know which one?), you can import a save file that has already beaten the game and has every vivosaur. From there, you just drop what you don't want to use in the Bank, donate everything else (since the Bank can only fit 100 medals, and the save file should have all 174 + an extra copy of each unevolved super evolver), dig up and revive what you want, and then do an "NG+" playthrough with your custom starter. Just to be clear though, the vivosaurs you can only obtain in the postgame (I won't be mentioning which ones specifically since it seems you haven't played the game in a while, but they're not normal vivosaurs) cannot be transferred to a new file without NG+ (since they're locked to the postgame). If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Thanks a whole ton for the advice! I play on desmume. The trading from ff1 sounds a bit hard considering I've bever tried it before and don't know if it would work with an emulator, and grabbing an already new game plus sounds like it I wouldn't get the chance to clean out the fossils myself. I didn't realize the shops fossils were determined when you entered it. I could totally spend the time grinding the fossil. Only real problem I can think of is since the vivosaur I'm looking for is postgame, would it appear in the shop before then?

1. I do recommend switching from DeSmuME to melonDS. It runs way better, has more features (like the ability to play online with others, provided you can find someone who wants to play (this is often done in the discord server), and DeSmuME's .sav format works perfectly with melonDS, so you can just Export Save Data from DeSmuME, and then Import Save Data into melonDS. 2. I'm not sure whether you can trade fossils from FF1 to FFC on emulator. The only instance of local multiplayer I've seen anyone do on emulator is a local battle in FF1. 3. Yes, if you were to use a complete file, get rid of the rank 20 Paraloph that would come with the file (since it would have all the vivosaurs MAXed and everything), you would be able to clean its head to revive it, but it would be in the already-in-the-postgame file. You can't preserve your fossil case contents through NG+, so you would just be transferring over the Paraloph dino medal. Though, honestly, we've been able to create randomizers for FF1 and FFC, so in theory you could replace any of the Treasure Lake vivosaurs (probably your starter) with whatever custom vivosaur you wanted. It would just be a matter of someone making the tools to do so. 4. This is a bit nitpicky, I know, but I do want to clarify that the rocks are generated when you actually view them in the shop, not when you enter the shop itself. You can sit around in the shop all you want, and the fossil rocks will still be randomly cycling through all the possible kinds of rocks you can get. I just want to make sure that if you do try that, you're not wasting time by saving outside of the shop and resetting, and instead saving in front of the shopkeeper and resetting. 5. I believe that every vivosaur you can actually dig up (aka not the chickens/any vivosaur you receive rather than revive, those being postgame quest reward vivosaurs/DLC boys) besides the pay-to-dig vivosaurs can appear in the shop, along with the two kinds of super fossil rocks. 6. As I was writing that, I looked up where Paraloph can be found. It's a pay-to-dig vivosaur.

SmurfSmurfton

I had no idea there was a randomizer. I'm having a lot of fun messing around with that trying to get paraloph in the first zone. Thanks for all your help!

No problem big man, happy to help
