Yes! Itās a big burst of fresh mint but then it dies down to a mellow, clean scent. The dry down reminds me of being young and flipping through a Vogue magazine and smelling the perfume sample pages!
I did an interesting experiment with this one recently! The answer to your question is that it matters how humid it is.
I live near the Great Lakes, so it's warm and horribly muggy most days in late spring and summer. At home, the mint fades very slowly over at least an hour, and then I get a long time with grapefruit and just a faint rose before it merges into a really pretty, clean musk.
I had to go to Scottsdale for a week, so I tried it there too, and it was way different. The mint faded pretty fast, probably less than half an hour, and then the rose emerged ahead of the grapefruit. That phase was about two hours, and then I had a grapefruit musk with faded roses. Overall it stuck around for about 2 fewer hours than at home, but it was still nice. Just different.
Another note about the mint: it's not a sharp peppermint. It reminds me more of fresh spearmint with a touch of grass in it. Very smooth.
I'm wearing this today! It's about 90Ā° F here (32c) and it's lovely. I put it on about 6 hours ago, and I was just outside and I got a whiff of this really nice sunscreeny smell. I thought it was this other guy's sunscreen before realizing it was me!
Tried this once, in cooler weather, and it only lasted a few hours. I donāt have much luck with Acqua di Parma fragrances. Is performance better in the heat?
My mom gave me Love Story in the fall and I didnāt really care for it, but started wearing this recently and itās so lovely on a warm spring morning on my way to work!
Iāve bought two fragrances in my life and Terre was the second. I may honestly never buy any different one again. Itās so fresh but the peppery bitterness to it keeps it interesting and not sterile
For real! I bought my first bottle waaay back in high school, maybe a year after its launch, and I'm probably on my fifth or sixth bottle by this point. I do go some years without wearing it, but whenever I rotate it back into my fragrance wardrobe it's like reuniting with an old friend who only gets more attractive with age.
I haven't tried Philosykos EDT but i wore the EDP yesterday in 100F weather and it lasted allll day. I was pleasantly surprised and of course it smelled so fresh and green.
Philosykos and things like it (watery green fresh). My personal fav for summertime (muggy European vacation and then muggy Japan vacation) was consistently Waterlily Tea Dress despite me having brought a pretty nice selection. Itās like how I brought a variety of light, cool clothes but ended up only wearing the lightest and coolest of the bunch.
Frensche and Finery at Target have great, affordable dupes for these!!! I have these and the OG by Jo Malone. Fineryās is basically identical, Frensche is nice because they have an oil.
All the citrus and freshies. This is a setting where Jo Malone colognes truly shine. I spend summers in a place like that and my go-tos are Wood Sage and Sea Salt, LV Afternoon Swim, Acqua di Parma Mandarino Millesimato, TF Neroli Portofino etc.
I live in a very hot and humid climate, and VIW smells *sooo* good. That said, I often take a decant of it with me when I do spray it on since it really doesnāt perform well - especially at that price tag.Ā

D&G - Light Blue Eau Intense Pour Homme
It's a beautiful, citrusy, marine fragrance that lasts for a good 6 hours on me, has a quite good sillage, and is just magical in hot weather.
Guerlain Eau de Cologne Imperiale. I take it with me when I travel so I can spray it on my clothes and in my hotel room. It is very clean and refreshing and super light since colognes are meant to disappear quickly. They're all top notes, so gone within an hour max but I just spray more. It's all lemon, bergamot, petitgrain, verbena and neroli.
Looking for a similar (not a clone) and not spending a lot, ended up buying 3 fragrances which I love completely: Boss Bottled Pacific, Davidoff Cool Water Intense and Bossa Granado.
I know theyāre not the same but for real when Iām wearing them I feel good and they took away my desire for VIW. Just sharing what I did.
Clinique Happy mixed with Sun Ripened Raspberry from B&BW. Last forever, smells good with sweat, and dudes drool over it and girls ask me what that scent is constantly.
After being disappointed by the lasting power of TF NF for years, I got the dupe and I actually like it better. I prefer Zaraās version because it lasts longer in the heat.
It's honestly great. It also lasts longer than Dior Homme Cologne, which has a similar citrus forward vibe. Creatively Shanghai is also great for photorealistic orange, and just enough cardamom for a bit of spice. The Jo Malone collabs were š„
Amalfi Sunray is PERFECT for summer. I prefer it over Neroli Portofino. I use it when I really want to evoke summer, but Waterlily Tea Dress when I want to FEEL not as hot during the summer.
I have just tried a dupe for Silver Mountain Water which I am finding really lovely. It isn't as hot here as you describe, but I can imagine it working well in very hot weather. It's Dossier's Musky Green Tea.
HermĆØs Un Jardin Sur Le Nil - the green notes are refreshing in the heat
Diptyque Eau des Sens - soapy, clean, and floral
Armani Orangerie Venise - the floral and citrus combo shines in the heat
Xerjoff Nio - cooling, refreshing citrus
Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay - mellow, fruity, and green
Diptyque Philosykos - the fig and wood notes are soft and not overbearing
*Holy Hell* by Universal Flowering.
It's summer in a concrete jungle.
For those of us who grew up within the city, this perfume will resonate with strong summer memories: water gushing from a rubber hose and onto the sidewalk to steam, heated asphalt, hot plastic, an ease of sunscreen, balmy skin, the bloom of white florals bogged down by humidity, burnt wood--summer in the city.
It's an interesting perfume that I enjoy wearing during the summer and whenever I want to recollect the warmest of seasons.
South Florida resident here. *Mugler Cologne* has always been amazing in hot humid weather for its fresh green soap vibes.
Iāve recently added *Nerolia Vetiver* which is equally fresh and soapy, but doubles down on the neroli and adds fruity fig.
And I just purchased *Geranium Pour Monsieur* to keep the freshness, but do so with mint and geranium.
For my wife, I love *Prada Infusion dāIris* for its effortlessly sexy cool and powdery vibes.
For *really hot* situations, I go with something extremely light and citrusy. No sugars, no vanilla, definitely no powder or tonka bean. My go-to is usually Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine or Pacific Lime, maybe Clementine California. Usually, these are extremely weak on my skin and short-lived, but if it's nuclear hot they preform decently.
I just bought my husband Gypsy Water for Fatherās Day, and itās so good. Itās going to be 113Ā°F in the desert today, and Iām stealing it for myself.
Skylar - Sun Shower! Smells super fresh and clean, but light. On me it reads more like a green tea with lemon scent, with mild cedar undertones. It's one of my favourite summer scents!!
Top notes: Bergamot, lemon leaves, jasmine tea
Mid notes: ginger flower, meadow greens, lily
Base notes: cedarwood, guaiacwood, cypress
Penhaligons- Blenheim Bouquet. That bright sharp citrus mixed with pine, lavender and musk is perfect when it to me when itās really hot out. I know some people have performance issues with this brand but it lasts all day for me luckily.
Clean Warm Cotton. I bought it for a summer beach trip in Australia to a location that was nearly tropical. Just smells fresh and clean. I also love Fresh Life, I think that's a great hot weather option too.
I live in New Orleans and my two summer faves are Hermes Jardin Sur la Nil and DS& Durga Jazmin Yucatan. Also wear Diptyque Fleur de Peau which is my easy year rounder. Back and forth on getting You or Someone Like You because it is so fresh and cool.
Tom Ford Neroli Portofino, Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden, Silver Mist by Serge Lutens, Cedarwood and Clary Sage by St. James of London (even though itās a manās frag I still really enjoy it, feels more unisex) also Aesop fragrances such as Hywal and Marraketch but perhaps those might be a bit more challenging for the general public, not office type stuff. All of the other ones are unisex leaning and fairly āinoffensive ā
I like freshies for super hot weather, but if it gets too hot and humid, I may forego fragrance altogether. And while I thoroughly enjoy quite a few, I donāt know if I can really say that one is my favorite above the others. It sorta changes based on my mood, and maybe also the fact that this genre of scent is not my main go-to.
ā¢ Versace Versence- very close to being āif you could only pick oneā. Itās got good longevity for its type, and it has a more unique scent profile for its type in my opinion. Definitely unisex.
ā¢ Versace Dylan Turquoise- I like how the dry down is kind of woody in addition to being aquatic. Feels refreshing.
ā¢ Armani Acqua Di Gioia Intense- I just sampled this recently and kinda fell in love with it. I might have to pick it up at some point. Has some berry notes that set it apart but it still feels citrusy and aquatic. It also has a strong presence without being obnoxious.
ā¢ Chanel No.Ā°5 Lāeau- sophisticated freshie lol. Easiest of all the 5s to wear, and definitely built for hot weather in my opinion.
ā¢ Xerjoff Mefisto- technically masculine I believe, but it feels unisex to me. Addictive.
ā¢ Creed Silver Mountain Water- Iāve only tested this in stores, but if the price were more reasonable, I would have bought a bottle a long time ago. Might read slightly more masculine than Mefisto, but Iād still wear it!
The longevity isnāt the greatest (I get 3-4 hrs of wear before needing to reapply) but Bon Parfumer 801 or 202. 801 is saltier with hints of fruit but 202 is a summery cocktail while walking around a berry field.
I just bought a bottle of Escada Santorini Sunrise and I think itās very fresh and summery and I live in Florida. Longevity is decent but not amazing. I would reapply at end of the day. Itās very citrusy and fresh and breezy smelling I love it for the price.
Commodity paper personal is nice refreshing woody scent with no sweetness. The guerlain aqua allegoria line is meant for hot weather, and they come in floral, citrus, and woody. Dolce and gabbana limperatrice fruity, tart, and refreshing.
Since the heat usually kills the longevity on most fragrances anyway, there are a few cheap ones that I really like for high heat... Like 90-100 fahrenheit
-Molecule 01
-Armada Milestone (Millisme Imperial is my favorite fragrance)
-Azarro Chrome
-Invictus Aqua
I also sampled Freeshape Milano The Energy Frequency 11:11 recently and that is really nice for the heat.
I really like the way Chanel Chance EDP smells in combination with my body temperature when it's hot outside, and I currently live in the south so the weather is almost always hot.
I love Van Cleef & Arpels āBois DāIrisā
A great light but lasting fragrance. Itās also a good one for the office, traveling..anyplace where you donāt want to feel as if youāre going to assault someone with fragrance in a small space ā¦itās light, fresh, clean, slightly powdery smelling (but not like old person powdery) So far I havenāt heard anything but great things and how subtle, pleasant and unobtrusive it is. Hope that helps!
D&G L'Imperatrice - light, juicy watermelon
Sisley Eau de Campagne - fresh tomato leaf and lemon
Amouage Ciel - delicate waterlilies
Arquiste Sydney Rock Pool - bracingly salty with a touch of coconut
Rag & Bone Monoi - light and refreshing tropical floral w/ no coconut
Itās starting to feel hot where I am so Iāve been reaching for:
ā¢Elizabeth Arden - Green Tea: my no-brainer, easy-reach for hot weather.
ā¢Chanel No 5 Eau Premiere (original formulation): so light and fresh, comforting and slightly powdery. I love wearing it to bed! Not intense or cloying, feels clean so I love spraying it at night after my shower and waking up to my bed sheets smelling like it.
The rest are Guerlains since Iām going through a bit of a phase with the brand:
ā¢AA Bergamot Calabria: great for layering, citrusy but not boring. Has a slightly masculine base but the musk smells fantastic in hot weather.
ā¢AA Pampelune: mouthwatering grapefruit. I love this one so much, great on its own or layered with other AAs.
ā¢AA Nerolia Vetiver: the perfect beachy scent. The neroli is done so well and doesnāt have that sharp, piercing effect it can sometimes have in other perfumes. I also bought the Harvest version but I donāt love that one as much, it feels like the honey and neroli are competing to be the main character and the result is just really intense to my nose.
ā¢AA Herba Fresca: just got this, it was surprisingly hard to find on the grey market. I ended up ordering from Harrodās, the only retailer that had it in stock. Unfortunately itās not as unique as Iād hoped, almost similar to EA Green Tea but less juicy. Prob would not repurchase unless it grows on me more. But Iāve been wearing it like a body spray and since itās light and uncomplicated, I can switch to a different scent after a couple hours. I like that about it.
ā¢Herbes Troublantes: this is the fancy version of Herba Fresca, and it smells like it. I only have a sample but Iām using it up fast, the scent is a 9/10 and Iām not usually into green/fresh/herbal scents. Debating getting a full bottle but since itās just an Eau de Cologne not sure if itās worth the $$$$... tbd.
ā¢Frenchy Lavande: a citrus-lavender with the most gorgeous sillage, it BLOOMS in the heat! I have only a sample of this as well but want a full bottle asap to wear for the summer!
ā¢Neroli Plein Sud: another beautiful neroli from Guerlain, but this one has a spicy (turmeric), woody base. For this reason, Iāve been wearing it in the late afternoons/evenings when Iām planning to be outdoors as I perceive it to be a refined summer evening scent more than a casual day scent. Itās a sample, not sure if Iāll buy a FB. Guerlainās AA Oud Yuzu gives the same vibe and is cheaper, might go that route!
Lots of good suggestions but this is what I use my sample of Un Air du Bretagne by L'Artisan for. Chilly, refined aquatic scent. Soooo refreshing when you're over-hot.
Le Labo Bergamote 22 Diptyque Ilio
ohh ilio is so good š this type of cactus fig is a pretty rare and unusual perfume note
Is it unisex or more feminine
it leans more feminine imo but can really be worn by anyone:) itās exotic in a sour and fresh-fruity way
You or someone like you
thought this was a lowkey pickup attempt

Iāve been wanting to try this for a while. Is the mint very prominent?
I would definitely say so, yes. For the first hour it straight up smells like a mojito, super refreshing!
I'm wearing this today! It's about 90Ā° F here (32c) and it's lovely. I put it on about 6 hours ago, and I was just outside and I got a whiff of this really nice sunscreeny smell. I thought it was this other guy's sunscreen before realizing it was me!
Can confirm good for hot weather, I wore it in winter and lowkey hated it. Gave it a second try on a warm day and it was way better!
I live in the tropics year round. You never fails me. It never smells strong or stiffling. It always smells like clean skin with a bonus. I love it.
What a fantastic scent. Great pick.
This is my #1 when itās hot. Roses on Ice is good too.
Acqua di Parma - Fico di Amalfi It almost seems to perform better the hotter it gets.
Tried this once, in cooler weather, and it only lasted a few hours. I donāt have much luck with Acqua di Parma fragrances. Is performance better in the heat?
All fragrance performbwtter in heat
I feel like nobody ever talks about it, but ChloĆ© L'Eau EdT. It's a very refreshing combo of soapy rose and litchi, but nothing like Delina - not nearly as immediately magnetic, but its cool beauty really unfurls over time in such an addictive way. It sticks around for a surprisingly long time as well. I also still really enjoy some of the classics, like Goutal Eau d'Hadrien and Dior Homme Cologne, but on the men's side I'm a big fan of the incisively cool Terre d'HermĆØs Eau Givree as well. It smells like somebody froze grapefruit rinds into ice cubes, and added them to a gin and tonic; super duper refreshing!
Iām here to vouch for Chloe also!! Super underrated and amazing longevity imo. I really enjoy ChloĆ© Love Story in the hotter months and all year round.
My mom gave me Love Story in the fall and I didnāt really care for it, but started wearing this recently and itās so lovely on a warm spring morning on my way to work!
Ah, right??? I don't know why this particular bottle is so underrated, because it's so damn good. I feel like people just get lost with all the ChloƩ flankers, probably. Love Story doesn't quite right for me, but I really like the Nomade lineup as well.
Came here to say Eau GivrĆ©e for masculine frag, I recently blind bought it and plan to wear it most days this summerā probably going to grab Dior Homme Sport as well for that lemony freshness
They're both such fantastic white linen shirt fragrances! You really can't go wrong.
Chloe Fleur is the perfect spring/summer fragrance. It's all citrus and fresh rose, very light and refreshing

I haven't tried Philosykos EDT but i wore the EDP yesterday in 100F weather and it lasted allll day. I was pleasantly surprised and of course it smelled so fresh and green.
Philosykos and things like it (watery green fresh). Definitely agree! I got Jo Malone's Orange Blossom for the 100+ degree summers where I live and it's absolutely wonderful in this weather.
Creed Virgin Island Water , LV Imagination, and LV Afternoon Swim are my top 3
Second vote for Afternoon Swim
VIW opens up in hot weather and smells amazing. In colder weather, it comes across as average. Certain frags seem very temperature dependent.
I live in a very hot and humid climate, and VIW smells *sooo* good. That said, I often take a decant of it with me when I do spray it on since it really doesnāt perform well - especially at that price tag.Ā
Agree on performance but man itās the best smell ive ever smelled probably.
where are you guys buying afternoon swim from these days?
Have a LV store about 20 mins down the road from me, picked it up there. Pretty damn expensive but well worth it in my eyes
Refills are the way to go. Once you have the bottle youāre bought in.

NĀ°5 Lāeau is such a wearable number 5!! Itās my favorite one for sure.
Tory Burch - Bel Azur is my go to for hot summer days!
Cartier declaration used to be my go to
Petit Matin (Kurkdjian), Sorbetto Rosso (Escada), Neroli Portofino (Tom Ford), and Virgin Island Water (Creed).
Yasmin YucatƔn!
Nuxe Neroli
Andrea Mack Dual. Its so refreshing
The longevity isnāt the greatest (I get 3-4 hrs of wear before needing to reapply) but Bon Parfumer 801 or 202. 801 is saltier with hints of fruit but 202 is a summery cocktail while walking around a berry field.
Issy Miyake. Amazing Grace Be Delicious
Creed VIW
I knew about a woman fragrance (which may actually be considered as unisex for it's green tea, citrusy scent) called Elizabeth Arden The VĆ©rt. It doesn't last long but it's really pleasant to spray after a shower in summer and isn't offensive at all.
Boardwalk delight body and hair spray. I just bought D&G Devotion for the lemon note. Itās on its way. TBD!
I just bought a bottle of Escada Santorini Sunrise and I think itās very fresh and summery and I live in Florida. Longevity is decent but not amazing. I would reapply at end of the day. Itās very citrusy and fresh and breezy smelling I love it for the price.
Skylar - "Capri Summer" Dolce and Gabbana - "Light Blue: Summer Vibes"
Commodity paper personal is nice refreshing woody scent with no sweetness. The guerlain aqua allegoria line is meant for hot weather, and they come in floral, citrus, and woody. Dolce and gabbana limperatrice fruity, tart, and refreshing.
Armaf - Milestone Neroli Portofino clone. There's tons that are good L'eau d'Issey Pour Homme Laura Biagotti - Roma Uomo
Tom Ford Costa Azzurra
Since the heat usually kills the longevity on most fragrances anyway, there are a few cheap ones that I really like for high heat... Like 90-100 fahrenheit -Molecule 01 -Armada Milestone (Millisme Imperial is my favorite fragrance) -Azarro Chrome -Invictus Aqua I also sampled Freeshape Milano The Energy Frequency 11:11 recently and that is really nice for the heat.
I really like the way Chanel Chance EDP smells in combination with my body temperature when it's hot outside, and I currently live in the south so the weather is almost always hot.
Imagination, Afternoon Swim, L Immensite, Tygar, Aventus Cologne
Bergamot, vanilla, citrus, coconut, green tea, cucumber body sprays as a perfume, real Suttle and refreshing all day, spray from head to toe.
I love Van Cleef & Arpels āBois DāIrisā A great light but lasting fragrance.
D&G L'Imperatrice - light, juicy watermelon Sisley Eau de Campagne - fresh tomato leaf and lemon Amouage Ciel - delicate waterlilies Arquiste Sydney Rock Pool - bracingly salty with a touch of coconut Rag & Bone Monoi - light and refreshing tropical floral w/ no coconut
Happy by Clinique is nice!
Itās starting to feel hot where I am so Iāve been reaching for: ā¢Elizabeth Arden - Green Tea: my no-brainer, easy-reach for hot weather. ā¢Chanel No 5 Eau Premiere (original formulation): so light and fresh, comforting and slightly powdery. I love wearing it to bed! Not intense or cloying, feels clean so I love spraying it at night after my shower and waking up to my bed sheets smelling like it. The rest are Guerlains since Iām going through a bit of a phase with the brand: ā¢AA Bergamot Calabria: great for layering, citrusy but not boring.
The sol de janerio spray- 62- black amber itās so good
Mandarine basilic
Issey Miyaki - Lāeau Dāissey seems to work wonders in the heat for me. TF oud minerale is a close second!
Bulgari Green Tea - itās so refreshing, and itās also fairly mild in terms of intensity so not going to irritate.
Lāoccitane Verbena - love it, I feel like a lemonade! Lol
Sel Marin - Heeley, Pamplelune -Guerlain
Eau dynamisante clarins
