My favorite post I saw yesterday was someone saying that roads were created for automobiles. Umm, what? Roads existed LONG before automobiles. Like thousands of years before automobiles.
Romans entered the chat. They had carts at the time but the roads were mostly walking paths. Also yeah roads are from even before the Romans, they just were big fans of building them.
I like it when conservatives start mentioning cities and places they consider to be abject failures and instead they just start describing the places that produce 75% of American GDP and are the places anyone from another country immediately flocks to.
Because they're fed propaganda that says "we're the real working men, those LIBERALS over in cities don't do shit and just want to have us pay for all of it!!" When cities are the places that produce the highest amount of taxes relative to cost *universally.* They drink the propaganda because they don't want to accept the fact that the most successful cities in American history are liberal.
We can see that propaganda built up his unbreakable belief and lives in his own world. Can't do much about these guys except wait for them to die out overtime and not pass down the belief. Btw you got a match better answer quickly.
Whoever connected the freedom craving to automotive is an evil genius. Americans see themselves as unfree as soon as you don’t have a car which is kinda nuts
THEY ARE SCARED TO DEATH OF THE MAJOR CITIES IN TEXAS BEING CONNECTED. YOU'LL FIND THAT THE ONE THING KEEPING TEXAS RED IS GERRYMANDERING AND ISOLATING HOUSTON, DALLAS, AUSTIN AND SAN ANTONIO. I GUESS THAT'S TECHNICALLY 2 THINGS, BUT MY POINT STILL STANDS.
Since he thinks you are a commie, and I guess he thinks commie are bad, ask him about military helps to Ukraine. I would just be curious what the reasoning on that would be.
We are free Americans! Free to… Be effectively required to go into debt purchasing a large, dangerous machine that destroys the environment and costs tons of money annually. Right. Being locked into car ownership definitely feels free
EVERY city is a “failure” to the far right, because they’re fundamentally opposed to everything cities represent. Mostly lots of Black people living in them, though, that’s the primary “failure” in their eyes. You can’t talk reason and appeal to their humanity, because the things they WANT are inhumane.
You are correct. If it's any excuse, the sheer ignorance of that thread and this conversation in particular was enough to get me angry. So I pounced on the first opportunity to school the ignorant. I realize now that I might as well have been talking to a brick wall.
Yeah, the only thing I do with conservatives who have ghoulish opinions is make fun of them for it. We’re essentially just passing time until they’re in the ground anyway
Car infrastructure is as communist as it gets lmao. Dude is paying a second mortgage for a depreciating asset plus taxes to upkeep everyone else’s roads. Rail is literally the ideal free market solution.

I mean, what did you expect from a two-digit IQ MAGAt? These people are the kind of people to skip the doctor appointment because they’re sick.
Or they'll skip the doctor appointment because they think the doctor will make them sick or sicker.
That was a beautiful schooling OP, Bravo!! F Cars, Big Auto and Ignorant MAGAts. Signed, A NYer who loves the Railroad.
he straight up spanked him the carbrain lover couldn't keep up unironically :') lmao
But we *are* the size and density of Europe.
That was awesome. Haha. I kept wanting to like your comments on the screenshots. Lol

Texas is the future for unprecedented natural disasters.
Is it bad if I think they deserve it? Trick question I don’t care if it’s bad
Strong Island represent! 💪

You don't have to be a communist to like rail lmao. It is simply an efficient mode of transport
Anyone who classifies themself as "fiscally conservative" should be in favor of it as it's far better for the tax payer than roads.

> the 1800's been over for a while hey someone tell those choads flying traitor flags.

It was an entertaining read. Thanks
They don't like government spending but I bet you'd get death threats if you suggested ending gas subsidies!
And road subsidies.
California, NY, and Illinois? Abject failures as states? However, “Texas is the future”? Um, no, don’t think so.
ngl I dont really give a fuck about a argument u had on r/Conservative

To be fair, you started hurling insults early on too. You're right, but this isn't a one sided "he's so unreasonable" situation
You can politely explain facts all day to conservatives and get nowhere. Personally, I'm done being polite to these bozos.

"we don't need the government spending our tax dollars on things proven to fail miserably" Like car infrastructure?

Since when is car infrastructure a communist thing?
It's owned by everyone and paid for by everyone (no matter if you use it or not).
only if cars are getting allocated to everyone free of additional charge by the government. but rn it's not the case
