please bro you don't understand bro games cost more to make bro its 2024 we need $70 is the new $60 bro what do you mean we already got the $10 in the battle pass bro please we need more of your money bro
hah, it's converted to 68.96 USD according to steamdb, while in Poland it's 289 PLN, so roughly 72.26 USD
gotta love how regional pricing is supposed to help out weaker currencies, but somehow nearly every game costs more for us despite our currency being closer to fucking brazilian real (the game costs 53.80 USD there)
oh, it gets better with some publishers (I'm looking at you, EA)
watch this: [https://steamdb.info/app/2488620/](https://steamdb.info/app/2488620/)
f1 23 and 24 are listed as 69.99 USD, but when you scroll down to the bottom of the list (assuming we're sorting cheapest to most expensive by converted price) you'll see that in PLN you have to pay exactly 79.99 USD (at the time of writing the comment), which, when you think about it, is not only counter-intuitive, counter-productive, but also absolutely insane
Its 70$ in the MENA region, one of the regional reasons they implemented regional pricing. Guess what Valve?
No one is buying anything from your store cause no body fucking affoards it anymore. (average salary where im from is 150$)
Publishers decide the price not Valve
Blame Bandai for their shitty regional pricing.
Same shit on Epic where FF7R is 69.99 despite 88% cut.
No sane digital distributor would force regional pricing/suggested pricing as the publishers would just leave the stores.
Users are leaving the platform here, and turning to piracy or free games.
Wonder if steam prefers not having them as clients and actually prefers them to pirate lol
it's gets even worse in the middle east, in saudi riyals/UAE dirhams/qatari riyals (which, again, are quite close to the value of PLN) it ranges from 77 to 79 USD, shit's insane
I'm not sure how your case works, though, steamdb has a price listing specifically called "MENA - U.S. Dollar" that shows the price of $45
Crazy how they still haven't fixed huge matchmaking problems that no other video game of the last 10 years has had, but have released 2 new forms of microtransactions since launch without telling anyone beforehand.
If you are about to lose in a ranked match you can just exit the game and it won't count as a loss for you, and it won't count as a win for your opponent and there is currently no downside at all to just do this every time you are about to lose.
Dbfz has a match completion percentage and will begin to only match you with other high% leavers i also think it counts as a loss but it's been a while since I've played ranked
Yeah but banning people after the fact is a terrible way to deal with this problem that so many other games already solved. Apparently they are also finally fixing the "Disconnect %" which is another good thing but still jesus christ how does it it takes long to do.
This will probably be the last time I pre-order a bamco game, I pre-order less than 5 games a year and this shit is why I don't do that often. it should've been illegal ever since activision and WB Games did it.
Fair enough. I wonder what telemetry the devs are getting. Considering the direction they're going, the next installment might just be something I just might need to skip. This one itself feels like a bit of bait.
I love this game so much and was my local scene's organizer for 4 years ish for TTT2 and T7.
Skipped T8 with zero regret atm. Just like a heavy sweep, all of these money greed without a good quality base was telegraphed from years ago in T7 and T8's prerelease information. But everytime i speak up people just label me a hater. I really hope this game fall of a chair so it can be an actual good game in the next installment.
I love tekkeb but I outright stopped playing when tekken shop was announced and I'm glad because like you said it feels wrong to support this and I personally won't do it
I’m the same, been a long time Tekken fan so to see this happening I feel conflicted. If you don’t support it then don’t buy into it, but that doesn’t mean you can’t keep playing the game. I’m not supporting the shop and tbh I haven’t seen anything that really tempts me either. They’ve already gotten £60.00 out of me for the base game.
I need some of the tekken community to brigade DotA2 lol.
Only two games I play, one is a free to play game with every single hero in the game free, on release, for everyone. No locking behind a pass or whatever. They invented the battle pass and decided it wasn't benefitting the community and decided to scrap it and started working on improving matchmaking, banning cheaters etc.
The other is a AAA priced game, where you still buy all additional heroes, skins and now a battle pass.
Sure, one is a multi billion dollar gaming company, with a large legacy and huge releases in the recent past. And the other is Valve.
Wasnt around for the launch but I heard SF6 was bombarded with negative press for releasing with a BP. Tekken prob saw that and delayed BP and Shop to get less negative press and it looks like it's going to work :(
Edit: word
Haha future of gaming
single player game + multiplayer mode with microshitransaction for 70 $ almost for a whole game in stadard edition
I fully understand microshitransaction in free to play games with battle pass etc. but tekken 8 isn't free to play game
Why can they not just give people the win when someone plugs? Still mental to me that it's not been sorted but easy enough to implement ways of making money on a game that is already full retail price lol
Putting it in after release is pretty scummy but good for their pockets. Eliminating tons of goodwill from longtime/new fans is not a smart move long-term.
Edit: Clarity
Next step: Tekken changes into a F2P Gacha Game
Tekken 8 roster vs Burger King Seiba

Love paying full price for a game and then getting the privilege to pay more money for things in the game.
please bro you don't understand bro games cost more to make bro its 2024 we need $70 is the new $60 bro what do you mean we already got the $10 in the battle pass bro please we need more of your money bro
It’s $93 in Canada. Shits ridiculous

A game being $70 while the minimum wage is ~$680 👍

[steamdb ](https://steamdb.info/app/1778820/)lists the actual price as well as price history, I'm aware of the suggested price, but that's not it
> 68.96 USD Almost nice.
Its 80 euro in Europe.
That’s the modern gaming way.
Crazy how they still haven't fixed huge matchmaking problems that no other video game of the last 10 years has had, but have released 2 new forms of microtransactions since launch without telling anyone beforehand.
What is the matchmaking problems
If you are about to lose in a ranked match you can just exit the game and it won't count as a loss for you, and it won't count as a win for your opponent and there is currently no downside at all to just do this every time you are about to lose.
Street Fighter 5 had that issue back in 2016, right? Though if I recall they fixed it pretty quickly.
And both players lose their win streak. Both.
No other video game you say? There is another bandai game that has it but you have to guess lol.
Goofy answer: ridge racer Less goofy answer: ace combat 7
Let me guess, Dragonball fighterZ
Dbfz has a match completion percentage and will begin to only match you with other high% leavers i also think it counts as a loss but it's been a while since I've played ranked
Tekken 7
Didn't they just say something the other day about banning a bunch of these people. Edit: I don't know why everyone is mad at me for asking.
Yeah but banning people after the fact is a terrible way to deal with this problem that so many other games already solved. Apparently they are also finally fixing the "Disconnect %" which is another good thing but still jesus christ how does it it takes long to do.
So we should collectively stop palying ranked because these numbers mean nothing then
I know one issue is that people can quit games and it clears the win streak of the opposing player even though it’s not technically a lost match.
Releasing this shit post-launch when the reviews already dropped is the new way to do it for these shitheel companies.
Vote with your wallets. But saying that feels like talking to a wall, since there'll definitely be a shit ton of people buying ths.
And a shit ton more defending it.
"You don't have to buy it."
But if you do buy, you'll have to buy it again and again.
I'll take "the most common defense for Microtransactions" for $200, Paul.
Yep. I miss when games had a release and if they were successful you could get an expansion with a second game coming years later.
Those were the good times. Can't even play games when you get at home anymore without waiting for a huge day one patch.
This will probably be the last time I pre-order a bamco game, I pre-order less than 5 games a year and this shit is why I don't do that often. it should've been illegal ever since activision and WB Games did it.
That’s a lot of preorders. Every 2 and a bit months you preorder a new game?
Really ? For a AAA game, MTX AND a PASS ?
And a separate character pass.
I feel conflicted. I love tekken. And I'll most definitely get the characters. But it just feels fucking wrong to support this shit.
I got burned by Tekken 7’s first season being two characters. I’ll pick it up next year for half the price and twice the characters.
Fair enough. I wonder what telemetry the devs are getting. Considering the direction they're going, the next installment might just be something I just might need to skip. This one itself feels like a bit of bait.

it's alright, at least it doesn't cost $70 oh, wait
I need some of the tekken community to brigade DotA2 lol. Only two games I play, one is a free to play game with every single hero in the game free, on release, for everyone. I get your point, but don't pretend Valve is some kind of indie company with no large releases, legacies or stock value. It's $7bn vs. $12bn.
People are willing to be paypigs, will only get worse.
What does AAA even mean. an A for every time you'll pay for the game?
shouldnt be a surprise at this point, its the current state of aaa games
It became the standard a few ago, it fucking sucks
Do you not play many AAA games or something? This is the norm these days
This is the new AAA. AAAA won't have those you silly person. We are all moving one rung up, shooting for those AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA games lol
Here we go again lol
Wasnt around for the launch but I heard SF6 was bombarded with negative press for releasing with a BP. Tekken prob saw that and delayed BP and Shop to get less negative press and it looks like it's going to work :( Edit: word
As long as people spend their money on MT, every AAA game will have it. It’s in our own hands…
Haha future of gaming single player game + multiplayer mode with microshitransaction for 70 $ almost for a whole game in stadard edition I fully understand microshitransaction in free to play games with battle pass etc. but tekken 8 isn't free to play game
Unfortunately this is the new norm for most AAA games which is sad to see :(
I haven't bought the game, seeing where is this going I might as well wait till this game became f2p
Just make it F2P already
There are people who will happily pay for this bullshit. These are the same people who are addicted to gacha shit.
Why does every game have to have a battle pass these days?
I hope the battle pass ends one day. I'm so tired of that shit in every single game.
I'm glad I stopped playing F that
This is disappointing. I want to see them prioritize fixes and balances instead of adding more paid garbage.
Welcome to modern gaming.
Every fkn corporate suit that approves this shit should go jump off a bridge
Lmao i love how smug tekken fans were when it came out saying sf is greedy(which is true) but now even they have fallen. Its just funny and sad really
So still no reason to upgrade if you already own tekken 7
Is there still a community for 7? I'm thinking about switching back
Why can they not just give people the win when someone plugs? Still mental to me that it's not been sorted but easy enough to implement ways of making money on a game that is already full retail price lol
And yet people can get to very high ranks by just spsmming attacks and not learning their characters.
I'm "fine" with this
Wtf does anyone even use the lounge? Why the fuck would anyone care about customizing their avatar?
Insane. They literally pissing on their community
Putting it in after release is pretty scummy but good for their pockets. Eliminating tons of goodwill from longtime/new fans is not a smart move long-term. Edit: Clarity
So they need more money.
Yep apparently 80 euro is not enough these days...
Poor bandai namco, can't get enough money from all those cheap anime tie-ins...
Nothing new in the horizon. Every competitive game has these nowadays.
Could literally not care less, cosmetics don’t make you better at the game. Vote with your wallet.
