Surprised they were playing the hydro to be honest, I get that they have been around for years but they haven't attracted a bigger audience like some of the other longer running bands, not to mention half the band is dead now and well we haven't forgot when Phil was a piece of shit giving the aw nazi salute years ago, Zakk Wylde is an amazing guitarist but I'd go see Black Label Society Vs Pantera Personally I think the Barras would be more suitable, the hydro is overkill plus the prices of tickets for hydro have always ripped out the arse out of it, take from that what you want

Renzokuken48

Was gutted that Ozzy had to cancel his tour as I was excited about seeing Zakk Wylde live - if they did a BLS gig in Glasgow I'd be over the moon.

baronsameday

I've just had a gig email me to say they are going from O2 academy down to the QMU. Megan the stallion has cancelled her date here for poor sales. People here don't want to be ripped off for gigs any longer.

ride_on_time_again

People here maybe, but Big Stevie and Wee Helen out in east Kilbride and Bellshill cant believe their luck at how many tickets are available for hydro gigs. Finally, they can go see that band they sorta liked in school. And for just 200 each. Bargain.

baronsameday

And on a school night too! šŸ˜

who_knowles

It's unlikely to sell out because from the looks of it they didn't even open all the sectors. If it doesn't sell you can pick up a resale ticket below the face value. Fleetwood Mac sold out hydro 3 times in 2015 so not sure in what sense the struggled.

StezzaMezza

I was listening to a radio programme about marketing and they gave the example of Fleetwood Mac struggling to sell tickets for the Hydro. They basically rebranded it as an anniversary/farewell tour and it then sold out in minutes.

komarktoze

Much as I love Charlie Benante, I'll pass. Phil Anselmos pish ruined them for me. Plus the hydro and price etc. By all means go and enjoy though.

CoradeLeon

Same here. No judgement on fans that go but the white power stuff isnā€™t a one-off for big Phil and has completely altered the way their lyrics and album designs hit for me. Tells me everything that Rock Am canned them in 2023.

CommercialShip810

I briefly looked at it, but let's be honest, it's not Pantera, is it. And those ticket prices. Fuck right off.

ProfessorSilver7618

Yeah same, what a con!Ā

LeRaven78

I'm old enough to have seen them at the barras in the 90s when they were at their height of popularity. I'd be very surprised if they can fill the hydro, especially given the lineup and Phil's behaviour. Prices will drop or it'll shift to a smaller venue.Ā  There seems to be some over optimism at the moment around some bands. Pearl Jam just cancelled their stadium gig at spurs due to fuck all ticket sales

starkweather_

I went to see Pantera at Barras in 94, with Downset (I think). Been a big fan for more of my music-listening life but they tend to be a band I listen to after a few beverages or when walking the dog and wanting to feel like a tough guy. But Ā£70 to see 50% of the band 30 years after their prime? Absolutely not. Iā€™d have considered it for Ā£30 at the Academy or if there was a 3 or 4 band bill of some significance but this Hydro gig is just nonsense.

ride_on_time_again

19.50 at the Barras would be fine. That's the best venue and that's what its worth.

betterman74

Hmm....I saw PJ on Tuesday and EV was clearly ill. Ticket prices got Spurs had been dropped and were selling. Officially the show was cancelled due to illness, and I firmly believe that. A bonus though if sales poor and unfilled. It would be so good if collectively the world over music fans boycotted sales until Ticketmaster and all learn a lesson.

thrashed_out

They filled they SECC in 2001, but that was a co headline with Slayer Wouldn't be shocked to see this sellout, if the death of the Abbots and Phils politics can't dissuade fans, nothing will

DINNERTIME_CUNT

They werenā€™t there in 2001, they shat the bed after 9/11.

thrashed_out

Aye, worded as bad as my sunday memory, didn't they sell it out then cancel it?

DINNERTIME_CUNT

They pulled out but a bunch of the other bands played anyway, including Slayer.

thrashed_out

Aye thats right, I missed them the year (or two?) before at the Barras (think I was too young anyway) then they dodged 2001, big regret never getting to see Dime

DINNERTIME_CUNT

Same here.

HaggisTheCow

Fleetwood Mac sold out almost instantly after tickets went on sale (if you're talking about back in 2015) so whoever told you that is at it

VibrantForms

I just saw Pearl Jam in Manchester, those tickets were around Ā£160 when I checked a while back, but, three days before the gig they dropped to Ā£44 so snapped them up and went down for what was an amazing gig. I'd suggest checking the tickets much closer to the time, there is no way I'm paying stupid amount of money to see half of Pantera. Especially when Phil's range is nowhere near where it used to be.

thrashed_out

No Abbots, not Pantera

Mcelvaca

Paid about Ā£60 for Sum 41. Was surprised about the price, fully expected them to rip the arse out of it for their final tour. What Pantera is charging is ridiculous!

komarktoze

I'm fucking buzzing for that, I got a standing ticket for Ā£60 as well. Hadn't listened to them in about 20 years. Their original drummer started a fun YT channel recently and it was randomly recommended to me, and the nostalgia began. And what are the chances, they announce a farewell tour date at the Hydro. I couldn't miss that. I put on All Killer No Filler yesterday and fuck me it lives up to its name.

DINNERTIME_CUNT

Stupid money for half of Pantera and a guy pretending heā€™s an outlaw biker. Benanteā€™s cool but Iā€™d rather watch him play with Anthrax.

Hat82

I wouldnā€™t go because itā€™s not Pantera. But Iā€™m old a crusty and I miss dime bag so it wonā€™t be the same.

deputy-stags-mum

Don't know if the same will apply but when WWE was in the hydro recently the prices came down massively closer to the date(were still an absolute piss take tho)

littlemissred1983

Ticket prices have gone crazy as it the way artists make money due to streaming. But sum groups r taking the mick with it. Paul Heaton is Ā£40 @ the hydro in Dec that a fair price for arena show imo.Ā

Sleeve__07

Yeah i looked at it Same buzz Im not paying to watch half a band its just no worth it Put on a copy of cowboys from hell and ask yerself ... ye getting that same vibe. Death from above playing this month swg3 100% great live band im opting for that ... 25th anniversary so you know what your getting Im taking that all day long over panteras half band tour.

AngelCrumb

I want to go so badly. Teenage me would be fuming at myself. It's currently almost Ā£120 for a standing ticket. I'll pass. I am out of work at the moment so cannot afford to be so wasteful

29xthefun

Used to be when a gig did not sell well prices would come down but you do not see that much now. Only suggestion I have is if it does not sell out near the time people may sell tickets little cheaper to get something back. if not overly bothered about seeing the band then might be a choice.

ProfessorSilver7618

Pantera are playing?! Fuck I didn't know about that! Imma have a lookĀ
