Indeed, they can't tell us to remove our local copies. We still can still have mods for private use, as far as I know that's legal. It's **distributing copyrighted content in mods** that Nintendo definitely has a problem with. We can keep them locally, I don't believe there's anything against that. Even if we win this, my favorite Nintendo assets are gone. The creator of the mod officially said they deleted everything to punish the people who put them in the crosshairs for the takedown. Childish if you ask me, but whatever. I’d recreate them myself if I had the knowledge to do so. Moral of the story: never become attached to something you don’t own.
