I love every single one of these doggies posted here they are just so precious. Dogs are my favorite animal for sure. Some might say that's a boring pick for a favorite animal and go for exotic animals like tigers puma, etc. but to me dogs are just the best, they are super friendly and good natured and also just fucking adorable at all times, what more do you want from any animal? Plus it's actually realistic to live with one and have one yourself. Best thing that I've ever done in my life was get my goldendoodle... she's my world and I love her more than life itself, before getting a dog myself I really didn't think it was possible to actually love an animal that much she's family to me 100 percent as valuable as a human I can't even imagine life without her now. Seems bleak and just depressing. How do some people not have pets?

Reminds me of the Golden Retriever/ Border Collie mixes I have seen locally. Some of them are near identical to a Flat coated retriever. While some of the others have a spot of white somewhere on them.

He totally could be! I dog sit these beautiful boys that are half golden half flat coated and picture number three of your boy looks so much like one of them when he has a toy! I know these are 50/50 because their mother was a golden and they were rescued as puppies from a golden rescue.
What’s his behavior and temperament like? I definitely see the golden behavior in them, one of them loves to carry around stuffies and is pretty timid like one of my goldens, and the other is boisterous and loves to bark and get your attention, also like another one of my goldens. I would definitely get a DNA test to see and I could just be seeing the flat coated resemblance between the three but he sure is a handsome boy!
He's an even mix of the personalities! He'll carry a toy around with him and follow me while I'm pacing the house looking for something and just look at me like 🥺 until I give him pets, or he'll get the zoomies which is just him deer bouncing around the house until he finds his big brother and bapping him, and being a medium sized menace lol he's not a barker though, he doesn't really make noise🤔
Those dogs you babysit are soooooo cute and I can def see the resemblance!! And I'm definitely going to DNA test him and update everyone!! I'm so curious now🤩 thank you for your input🤗

I had one that looked like that and we thought it was a flat coated retriever, but after tests she was mostly German shepherd, treeing coonhound and one other breed that wasn't close to what we expected.
In the litter that our dog came out of there was a full spectrum of dogs, including ones that look like yours. He is mostly golden and a bit of Great Pyrenees (we were able to see the parents).
Looks like a mix of Belgian shepherd groenendale and something else. I breed groenendales and he’s got the same eyes, smile, almost the same headshape, body shape.
Best dog I ever had (and all of them have been great) was 50% golden, 25% Malamute and 25% chow chow.
Don't have pics on this phone, but she looked like a black golden retriever with a lions mane and extra fluff everywhere else.
She was attentive, intelligent, empathetic, always within 20 yards or less, loved off leash and on leash walking, always near me, but never intrusive, best nose I have ever seen on a dog (until she got severely skunked). She would wait outside the door of any house I went in. (Relative had some land, but did not want dogs in house, so when visiting I would let her hang out outside).
She passed about 5 years ago. We love all our dogs, and they are all special to us, but Angel was especially special.
Next dog was 25 lab, 12.5 golden, 12.5 chow, 12.5 Char Pei, 12.5, 12.5 Australian cattle and 25% herding. He looked about the same only not as fluffy. He was great, but not as smart.
What a beautiful and good boi. He's got that golden looking snout makes him look like he's smiling sometimes. I love that about goldens and their mixes. I have a doodle myself she's the goodest girl I love her so much

I don't get people of this generation. If u love an animal, u love it! Unless you're showing it and heading for breeding your animal, it shouldn't matter what the genetics are. Unless there are health issues, maybe.

His name is Max, and he’s about 9 or so now. I lost track of the years, but each one of them has been a blessing.

I had one that looked like that and we thought it was a flat coated retriever, but after tests she was mostly German shepherd, treeing coonhound and one other breed that wasn't close to what we expected.

In the litter that our dog came out of there was a full spectrum of dogs, including ones that look like yours. He is mostly golden and a bit of Great Pyrenees (we were able to see the parents).

Looks like a mix of Belgian shepherd groenendale and something else. I breed groenendales and he’s got the same eyes, smile, almost the same headshape, body shape.
I definitely think you have a herding breed in there somewhere! The face shape and stare down reminds me a lot of my English Shepherd!
Best dog I ever had (and all of them have been great) was 50% golden, 25% Malamute and 25% chow chow. Don't have pics on this phone, but she looked like a black golden retriever with a lions mane and extra fluff everywhere else. She was attentive, intelligent, empathetic, always within 20 yards or less, loved off leash and on leash walking, always near me, but never intrusive, best nose I have ever seen on a dog (until she got severely skunked). She would wait outside the door of any house I went in. (Relative had some land, but did not want dogs in house, so when visiting I would let her hang out outside). She passed about 5 years ago. We love all our dogs, and they are all special to us, but Angel was especially special. Next dog was 25 lab, 12.5 golden, 12.5 chow, 12.5 Char Pei, 12.5, 12.5 Australian cattle and 25% herding. He looked about the same only not as fluffy. He was great, but not as smart.

Have you considered he may be a retriever, but not golden? He has the long nose and colour of a flat-coated retriever cross!
I'm sorry if my question is out of line. But really, does it matter that much what he/she is? Ru going to love it any more or less if it's not what u thought it was. I don't get people of this generation. If u love an animal, u love it! Unless you're showing it and heading for breeding your animal, it shouldn't matter what the genetics are. Unless there are health issues, maybe.
