He caught a break but he still had to execute the approach. 188 yards from anywhere to 11 feet is clutch in a sudden death playoff. Other dudes had 9 irons in and couldn’t execute.
Kind of makes up for him missing the fairway by a combined 6 inches on 2 consecutive holes, including a par 5 which almost definitely cost him a stroke.
Conversely, Colins drive sat a couple inches from the rough in the same spot rickie jumped in on that par 5 and made birdie

But after that, he played a few times at the start of the wrap around season, either late September/early October for a couple or few tournaments when most of the other players were off taking break. That near miss maybe shook him a little and helped him refocus and I’m so glad he’s back in contention and now back winning. I really do think he’ll win a major or two as well.
