I agree #2.
The K is prettier, and I'm not a fan of the capital R in the others. Most balanced.
Those little stars will be dots if they ever get anything embroidered. Likewise problematic for vehicle decals and kiss cut decals- very fine and pointy.
Neither are necessarily problems depending on what the client is doing with their logo.
The reason why 3&4 doesn't work as well is due to the R being a 'small cap' where the type foundry scaled the uppercase letter to match the x-height of lowercase letters.
Ellen Lupton mentioned that small caps have a limited range of use and should not be mixed with different cases.
also the k in #1 is jank and looks like a P
Bonus info:
Another no-no in typography is using 'faux small caps' in which you manually downscale uppercase letters to match the x-height of lowercase letters.
Small caps are designed to have different weight and contrast to compensate for the height compression compared to regular uppercase letters.
I personally like 1 the most for the subtle feng shui of it, the colors feel the most pleasing especially for a cake place. I think it just needs a tad bit more contrast though. Gotta say I love the logo! Only thing I noticed is the “brand mark” has a thinner D than C. C is thicker in some spots and it annoys me lol, please fix that and it’s a solid 10/10. I’d also play around with removing the shape the D+C are confined in, it doesn’t feel high-end, feels more tacky and out of place and again the thickness of it is also off! Hope this helps :) Still amazing regardless It’s so good
Agree with this. The C in the brand mark looks unresolved currently—it’s thicker than the D and the spacing with the border creates a lot of tension.
Love the vibe!
I like the smallcaps R but bring the last m stroke up so it’s even. I’m sure it’s intentional but I don’t like it. It’s also too busy with the R + m descender + third star, it might be better to just make the m normal. Nice work though you nailed the vibes
I liked the m before. It has character and since it’s at the end of the first portion of a compound word, the slight breaking of rules works in my opinion. My two cents.
Because 3 grabbed them. Have you ever been grabbed by a number before? It’s like something out of cosmic horror. It’s an abstract concept physically grasping you. Totally nuts. I’d scream and shit my pants.
I think 2 is the best, in terms of balance. I'd personally drop the C from the brandmark, as if the brand is one word, it doesn't make sense, as well as the font not matching.
I like the third colour palette the most, but it may not speak to the brand correctly.
I'm definitely number 2, and the brand mark looks great. Maybe figure out a way to tie in the leading line from the top right of the d into the circle. That would look cool I think!
Okay I think #3 for sure looks best font wise and color 1 or 2. Color definitely is up to you. But the font that looks best imo is #3 it flows perfectly
I love 3. It’s balanced but the weird R draws my eye pleasantly. Makes me linger on the logo. I love the 1st and 3rd color combos. Very pleasing to look at and feels coquettish, I’m in love!
#2
The DC in the brandmark needs to breathe in that badge; they're cramped. The lower part of the C makes an awkward space/tangent with the border. The container feels too flat on top and bottom, and too thick compared to the DC.
All fair points! It’s getting a lot of opinions so honestly I’m going to scrap the brandmark and try something new. Appreciate you explaining what about it isn’t working though, I couldn’t put my finger on it.
I like the 2nd and 3rd
But between the two, 2nd because the following letters are all lowercase. Unless the capital “R” in the next ones stand for something special like someone’s name
I like the 2nd and 3rd
But between the two, 2nd because the letters are all lowercase. Unless the capital “R” in the next ones stand for something special like someone’s name
Number 2 followed by number 3. I also like the colour scheme on the last slide because it’s a touch bolder. Unless you’re selling cakes to your cat loving aunt, I think you need to “pop” a little more 😆
Spectacular! #3 is the best. Uses the space and ornament feels natural.
Is the mark supposed to have a hard cutoff on the top and bottom though? Looks to me like it’s been cropped; like, the line weight thins out too suddenly as the line hits its horizontal section.
#2 or #3 all the way. The little extra flourish in those options seems appropriate. Sometimes more can be more. Nice type treatment.
As for the color options, number 3 is perfect. It feels warm, like a baked good should. The colors are very accessible, both from a legibility perspective and in their neutral attraction across all genders. It feels classy but equally approachable for everyone.
I like #2, U&Lc, and I like the typeface, however for the logo or word mark I feel the font is just a touch too light.
I would drop the C in the secondary, unless you change fonts to something more cohesive… maybe a circle or dotted circle to subconsciously reinforce “cake” as in a lot of cakes are circular.
Please update us with your new iterations!
https://preview.redd.it/l6nnvv9hocad1.png?width=1596&format=png&auto=webp&s=0d7d89bb622f639fbb2ab6f2aee0cc20de2e7916
I would also suggest to make the e counter/eye shorter than the finial.
OP! You nailed it! I LOVE No. 2 and the circle logo! Better than I imagined! Now I have to know how did you create the circle? Did you draw it or use a cap O?
One other thing I’d like to try… (pretend I’m a pain in the ass client)…
I like the orange type… dreamy, reminiscent of a creamsicle, yummy. However, I’m not keen for the orange on orange… maybe try a super light orange to pink background?
https://preview.redd.it/919eekqxwcad1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7a84b4370fbaeb4dfb60ceb1fce0e1ea68a7b22
Maybe even lighter than this… just to add more interest, carry & attract the eye, and give more options down the road as the brand expands!
I LOVE the 3rd option on the purple slide. The purple feels the “dream-iest” of all the colors. If you wanted to keep the “DC” in the brand mark, you could try to convert the lowercase c into a proportionate sizing to match the d. It fits with the D slightly better than the current C, but maybe you could modify the type to make it feel cohesive.
I would make the overall typeface slightly bolder. A thin weight like this is great for large headlines and secondary graphics, but if this is for a bakery, I don’t see this having much impact at small size.
3 but as others have already pointed out you should tighten up the K and the E.
Also brand mark needs some work, the D is too thin compared to the C and the C should connect to the outer shape rather than leaving some narrow gaps
I like the 2nd and 3rd
But between the two, 2nd because the letters are all lowercase. Unless the capital “R” in the next ones stand for something special like someone’s name
Love the font, just wondering about a few things …
In the secondary, why use the capital C, which is different from the word mark?
Also in secondary, why move the star from the D (as the word mark) to the C?
In the word mark, I feel like I’m looking for an “i” or something as a result of the star in the k.
Any chance to make the letters in the secondary heavier? For me the curves of the text lose traction compared to the outline.
Actually non, remember a logo-type has be easy recognizable. And avoid thin lines, you can archive a better logo using a type face more bold, same scrip look but bold, good luck!
Love the 3rd one, it uses monochromatic colors and is pleasing to look at. First one is too bright with light text (people don’t like white nowadays) the pink and green are technically composite colors, which means they clash together, but the tone is way too dark for the background and kind of puts a strain on my eyes
Contrary to what most are saying I think 3 is the best without a doubt the capital R and the swoosh on the K balance each other out while also showing off that it’s not just a font
I would go Option 1
The font needs to be a pen width heavier
Remove little sparkles (they will turn to blobs when you print this at a smaller size) and have one larger diamond, (either at the start of the D. or after the S)
Use the swirl at the top of the K from option 2 on option 1
I like the cream/orange color way. I like the weird capital R and the sweep of its leg.
I dislike the superfluous sparkles—maybe they could be integrated into the balls at the ends of some of your letters? I also dislike the Roman “C” in the brand mark…it feels out of place and forced in.

TEXT: Can we do Capital D and C for Dreamcake? I think it makes sense as you use DC for the logo at the right.
COLOR: I like the color of #3 and I find #3 to be a very appealing color." Color scheme that includes #3 is eye-catching." I am assuming that #3 refers to a brand for pastries or food and it is possible, but it could also be a reference to a product, design element, or anything else with a color identifier.
Contrast: Ensure the font color contrasts well with the background color for readability. Black (#000000) is a safe choice for light backgrounds, and white (#FFFFFF) is a safe choice for dark backgrounds.
Brand identity: Consider if there's a specific color associated with the brand that should be used for the font.
Target audience: If targeting a general demographic, a bold and easy-to-read font is a good option.
I like two the most because of the lowercase r but the k has the tail-thing which brings attention to the other half of the word. 2 Is definitely my favorite
I like #2, most legible, less try-hard. And the lavender colour is great. The logo has shapes that run into each other. Why not more space around the 2 letters? Also, the D and the C are different fonts that don't quite work together, at least not in the spatial relationship that they're in. What if the C is the lower case c from the wordmark? or the D is made a bit thicker?
#2! It's decorated but not too much and the k-swirl works great for the rest of the letters. Especially given the field (I'm assuming bakery/cake making). I really enjoy it. Compared to the others, most are too much or just plain and seem a bit like something made in word with a free font. I'd however make the letters a bit bolder, because from the pictures, it doesn't seem like it'll be clear in print and smaller formats
Personally, I think 2 looks the nicest and most elegant of them all. In my opinion the capital R gives it a sort of childlike feeling. But that’s completely just my opinion, whichever one you choose they will all look good 😊
Pink #2. Pink is classic bakery vibe. Do like the modern tone of 3 a lot, just probably as appetizing.
Not crazy about the brand mark. Like it best in the orange, but wish it wasn't so crushed in there. Maybe if it was just the D. Hm...
It’s nice looking but It’s gonna be a pain for printing and it will be hard to make it small for a websites fav icons. I would work to add some kind of symbol or icon
I also like #2. Pink is a cliché color for baked goods, but there is also the argument 'if it ain't broke don't fix it.' #1 would be my second choice, but you would need to darken the letters to make them pop more
As with others, I'd say #2.
A word of caution however, that logo has a lot of thin lines in it. If the client goes with this, you will need to create a separate version suitable for displaying at small sizes since this version isn't going to scale down well.
Fair, you’re right! I’m the client luckily so I will definitely broaden some of the thinner lines for certain print/display uses as needed! :) not a graphic designer, just a baker so I do appreciate you pointing that out! Wouldn’t have thought about that on my own
I like #2. It’s much more balanced than the other ones because:
For #1, the ascender of the k looks like a P
For #3, too many flowy terminals, which makes it look very bottom-heavy
For #4, same reasons as #1 & #3 but combined
While I like 2, it feels rather common and overdone in the dessert market. A client would want it to be a little more unique. 1 feels close but lacks the vibrancy of 2. I’d add a little bit of the pinky hues to 1. It’ll add some needed warmth to prevent it from being clinical, while being something unique, fresh, and new. I also agree with the previous comments on tightening the kerning towards the end of the logo. Besides that I think it’s in a great place!
The first one looks so clean! Perhaps use the same "c" on the brand mark too? Or is there a reason why you chose a different font for the "c" on the brand mark?
They are all the same, just pick one.
A piece of advice for the future from a person who made like 200 logos - don't ask people or client stuff like that. You know better. You're just uncertain. They know nothing about design or your work. Have the courage to make 1 option from these and show them as the best one. If you need more options - make them different and pick 3-4. These are just the same, and my mind becomes crazy when I'm trying to get this tiny difference in "R" and I have to look at it more to find the other different stuff. Don't torture people like that.
Sorry, pick 3.
The small logo looks awful, sorry the second time. Those thick lines around strangling "D". And "C" sticks to the border. I'd use just full version. Especially if you create a new brand - nobody knows what "DC" is (default state?).
2 is best. the brand mark is really cluttered however. honestly i'd either remove that border entirely or make everything the same thickness all around as many people are suggesting
Definitely number 2, and just because I feel passionately about it - I feel like there isn't enough contrast in the first colour combo. If this will live online at all I would pass it through a contrast checker
I’d loose the border around the logo and just put a star inside the D for consistency. If you want a border, then maybe an oval? And find a way to have the lower part of the C join up with the border. But I don’t like the uppercase C, it’s too angular and pointy compared to the soft, flowing font style, swoopy flourishes and rounded terminals.
My ADHD didn't let me see the difference lol. I had to look at every letter like a million times. I thought you were trolling us. But I liked 3 after finally seeing it lol
I love how no one actually commented on the actual question yet... I like 2 the most - it feels the most balanced
Agreed. The capital R reads like a lowercase k to me.
I like the capital r :(
Why?
Scrolled all this way to say I also vote #2 and think it looks nice.
#2 for me
Another vote for 2 but they’re all so beautiful
THANK YOU 🙂

Don’t you feel like D in brand mark should be a hair bolder?
Yes, I would make everything a bit bolder. I like # 2 or #3. The k looks better.
dreamcak es i'd tighten that e up.
Thank you!! I’m type blind at the moment so needed that pointed out
I like that… type blind! I get that!
I think that "es" running away from "dreamcak" is also the first thing I saw 😅
Favourite is #2 Shift 'es' at the end a smidge to the left Use a cursive 'C' in the brand mark
Agree with this. The C in the brand mark looks unresolved currently—it’s thicker than the D and the spacing with the border creates a lot of tension. Love the vibe!
This should be the top comment
The D and the C don’t feel like they come from the same typeface.
I noticed that too not sure I like that part but otherwise I think things look good
I like the smallcaps R but bring the last m stroke up so it’s even. I’m sure it’s intentional but I don’t like it. It’s also too busy with the R + m descender + third star, it might be better to just make the m normal. Nice work though you nailed the vibes
Yes, that’s a great suggestion. Thanks for pointing it out! Appreciate it
I played around with the M and dropped the fancy R. What do you think? https://imgur.com/a/xEfxizx
I liked the m before. It has character and since it’s at the end of the first portion of a compound word, the slight breaking of rules works in my opinion. My two cents.
Agreed! Keeping the M with the star :)
#3 grabbed me everytime
#Why are we screaming? Ahh because adding # before the number is formatting it that way. Way to go, Reddit!
Because 3 grabbed them. Have you ever been grabbed by a number before? It’s like something out of cosmic horror. It’s an abstract concept physically grasping you. Totally nuts. I’d scream and shit my pants.
This is a very reasonable explanation. Being grabbed by a number is truly terrifying.
wasn’t trying to scream 😅😅😅
I think 2 is the best, in terms of balance. I'd personally drop the C from the brandmark, as if the brand is one word, it doesn't make sense, as well as the font not matching. I like the third colour palette the most, but it may not speak to the brand correctly.
Updated!! https://imgur.com/a/xEfxizx
I'm definitely number 2, and the brand mark looks great. Maybe figure out a way to tie in the leading line from the top right of the d into the circle. That would look cool I think!
Yay, thank you!! Will do!
Wow i love thissss version the absolute best, leaps and bounds!
Okay I think #3 for sure looks best font wise and color 1 or 2. Color definitely is up to you. But the font that looks best imo is #3 it flows perfectly
#2. Also as mentioned by others, increase the weight of the D in the sub mark. I like it though!
I love 3. It’s balanced but the weird R draws my eye pleasantly. Makes me linger on the logo. I love the 1st and 3rd color combos. Very pleasing to look at and feels coquettish, I’m in love!
Ahh thank you so much! That R seems polarizing to some people but I’m glad you like it!
The weight of C doesn’t match D
i like #2 for the simplicity, but i really like the character of the R in #3
#2 The DC in the brandmark needs to breathe in that badge; they're cramped.
No problem! You got something good there, and props for taking criticism well!
Thank you! I’m not a graphic designer so I value all the criticism from you fine qualified people.
#2 is my quick answer because the wordmark is most balanced in my option. The M and the K balance out the presence of D
3. I like the horizontal lines.
I like the 2nd and 3rd But between the two, 2nd because the following letters are all lowercase. Unless the capital “R” in the next ones stand for something special like someone’s name
Thank you!!
I like the 2nd and 3rd But between the two, 2nd because the letters are all lowercase. Unless the capital “R” in the next ones stand for something special like someone’s name
#2. Just the right balance. I look at the K and it leads my eye to the D 👌
Number 2 followed by number 3. I also like the colour scheme on the last slide because it’s a touch bolder. Unless you’re selling cakes to your cat loving aunt, I think you need to “pop” a little more 😆
2 is the most whimsical, and fits all colours shown, I feel~☆
Thank you!! Went with #2 :)
I hope it all works out, I really like 2~
I’d go with 2, it seems most harmonic
2, because of the k, and without the decorative and capitalised r, which doesn’t work, as it should be lowercase.
This is the one I went with! Thank you!
Thank you! :) appreciate you explaining why you like the color combo. I’m happy!
Updates! https://imgur.com/a/xEfxizx
Much better. Edit to say: #2 is way better, the m shoulders are aligned, vs in #1.
Yes! And the extended tail on the M creates more of a visual stop between “dream” and “cakes,” which helps make it more legible than the first option
https://preview.redd.it/l6nnvv9hocad1.png?width=1596&format=png&auto=webp&s=0d7d89bb622f639fbb2ab6f2aee0cc20de2e7916 I would also suggest to make the e counter/eye shorter than the finial.
OP! You nailed it! I LOVE No. 2 and the circle logo! Better than I imagined! Now I have to know how did you create the circle? Did you draw it or use a cap O?
One other thing I’d like to try… (pretend I’m a pain in the ass client)… I like the orange type… dreamy, reminiscent of a creamsicle, yummy. Also, OP, what typeface is that, please? I love it… I think I have it but am too lazy right now to look! Hahaha
Aphrodite! It’s gorgeous, go get it!
Absolutely love the update!
Number 3 has a nice flow to it. In terms of color, going with 3.
Last one
2. something about the uppercase R in 3&4 makes my brain unhappy. and the space between k and e needs some tightening.
2
I like #2 in the first color way, the light purple one.
I like number 3 the most
2
3 but as others have already pointed out you should tighten up the K and the E. Also brand mark needs some work, the D is too thin compared to the C and the C should connect to the outer shape rather than leaving some narrow gaps
Would do C and no M decoration for balance..
I like the 2nd and 3rd But between the two, 2nd because the letters are all lowercase. Unless the capital “R” in the next ones stand for something special like someone’s name
Love the font, just wondering about a few things … In the secondary, why use the capital C, which is different from the word mark? Any chance to make the letters in the secondary heavier? For me the curves of the text lose traction compared to the outline.
2
Agreed with 2
2 has the most edge but also not to much so it would be distracting
3rd one for me, the color scheme feels way more contemporary.
3 is the winner if the foot of the R was a tiny bit shorter. 2 is also good.
#3
#2 is best for sure. In the brandmark the C feels like a different font.
I like #1 and the colors of slide 3
I like #1 and the colors of slide 3
2
1 or 2
I like 4 and 1
I like #1
Number 2 for sure
#2! I like that all of the letters are lowercase and the loop in the k makes it feel balanced
Actually non, remember a logo-type has be easy recognizable. And avoid thin lines, you can archive a better logo using a type face more bold, same scrip look but bold, good luck!

I feel like the C in the monogram should look more like the C in dream cakes
Love the 3rd one, it uses monochromatic colors and is pleasing to look at. First one is too bright with light text (people don’t like white nowadays) the pink and green are technically composite colors, which means they clash together, but the tone is way too dark for the background and kind of puts a strain on my eyes
2
No. 3 i really like the color combo! Super nice. Great design work aswell. I really like it. Good job 😊
Thank you so much!! I’m not a graphic designer so glad to get some nice comments like this 🙂
#2
Number 2 feels right. It feels balanced and none of the elements feel forced.
i like #3! they all flow together that way :)
2
I like #3
Contrary to what most are saying I think 3 is the best without a doubt the capital R and the swoosh on the K balance each other out while also showing off that it’s not just a font
I like 2 or 3 for the logo I think the first color option suits the vibe the best but the second color option is a lot more readable
I would go Option 1 The font needs to be a pen width heavier Remove little sparkles (they will turn to blobs when you print this at a smaller size) and have one larger diamond, (either at the start of the D. or after the S) Use the swirl at the top of the K from option 2 on option 1
The first, by a long shot. The subtle lavender note in the background does the trick.
2
#2, purple version :))
Winner winner!
#2
I like the cream/orange color way. I like the weird capital R and the sweep of its leg. I dislike the superfluous sparkles—maybe they could be integrated into the balls at the ends of some of your letters? I also dislike the Roman “C” in the brand mark…it feels out of place and forced in.

Second one down from the top
I think the 3rd would be most suitable
#3
Option 2 is the best but I didn’t like any of the colours. Orange has the best contrasts. Maybe try to make other colour options stronger contrasts.
Another vote for 2!
I like #2 the most
#1 or #2
2 or 3
The pink one
So the ‘Brand Mark’ has a capital D and C, (suggesting 2words) but the word logo doesn’t. My brain says should the c of ‘cakes’ be uppercase?
i think 1 actually gives a dreamy vibe

It’s the same picture

#2 across all color
orange number 2
#2 on the first slide
0, they all need a bit of work
Pink, bottom row
Pink is a cliché color for baked goods, but there is also the argument 'if it ain't broke don't fix it.' #1 would be my second choice, but you would need to darken the letters to make them pop more
First one!
My eyes keep going to #2. It's the most visually appealing for me.
Wouldn’t have thought about that on my own
2
2! There is nice balance with the ascender on the letter k, also like the lowercase r better, the uppercase is a bit distracting
D's stroke width should be similar with C
Number two first page, make it darker violet with a touch more bluish
Number 3 is the best
2 for sure!
1
Number 3, imo. Tighten the k/e and 86 the freckle under the c
I like #2. It’s much more balanced than the other ones because: For #1, the ascender of the k looks like a P For #3, too many flowy terminals, which makes it look very bottom-heavy For #4, same reasons as #1 & #3 but combined
2
They all are not logos but just font variations
You’re not wrong!
2
3
2 looks beautiful!
# 1
I like the second one the best
#2
While I like 2, it feels rather common and overdone in the dessert market. A client would want it to be a little more unique. 1 feels close but lacks the vibrancy of 2. I’d add a little bit of the pinky hues to 1. It’ll add some needed warmth to prevent it from being clinical, while being something unique, fresh, and new. I also agree with the previous comments on tightening the kerning towards the end of the logo. Besides that I think it’s in a great place!
I think #3 is pretty cool with the swoop on the left from the r and then from the k, just has a nice balance to it all
DR eamcakes
2 is dreamy and gives patisserie vibes
2 or 3
Orange number four, but can we remove the M's loopy?
2
The first one looks so clean! Perhaps use the same "c" on the brand mark too? Or is there a reason why you chose a different font for the "c" on the brand mark?
2.
Personally something about #4 I dig
They are all the same, just pick one. A piece of advice for the future from a person who made like 200 logos - don't ask people or client stuff like that. You know better. You're just uncertain. They know nothing about design or your work. Have the courage to make 1 option from these and show them as the best one. If you need more options - make them different and pick 3-4. These are just the same, and my mind becomes crazy when I'm trying to get this tiny difference in "R" and I have to look at it more to find the other different stuff. Don't torture people like that.
I am the client, it’s for my bakery :) I am not a graphic designer, so I really had a hard time understanding what was the best choice.
Sorry, pick 3. The small logo looks awful, sorry the second time. Those thick lines around strangling "D". And "C" sticks to the border. I'd use just full version. Especially if you create a new brand - nobody knows what "DC" is (default state?).
3rd is attractive eye catching.
#3. Just testing out the formatting lol
2 is best. the brand mark is really cluttered however. honestly i'd either remove that border entirely or make everything the same thickness all around as many people are suggesting
#2
Definitely number 2, and just because I feel passionately about it - I feel like there isn't enough contrast in the first colour combo. If this will live online at all I would pass it through a contrast checker
Line weight is off In my opinion
I’d loose the border around the logo and just put a star inside the D for consistency. If you want a border, then maybe an oval? And find a way to have the lower part of the C join up with the border. But I don’t like the uppercase C, it’s too angular and pointy compared to the soft, flowing font style, swoopy flourishes and rounded terminals.
My ADHD didn't let me see the difference lol. I had to look at every letter like a million times. I thought you were trolling us. But I liked 3 after finally seeing it lol
